Live Through This is my favorite album of the 90's. Over Nevermind, over Ten, over ANYTHING. It's in my top 10 of all time, hell maybe top 5. That CD is still in regular rotation with me. When I got rid of most of my vinyl collection that's one of the few titles I kept. The rest of their small catalog (even her solo album) are great as well, not on the par of Live Through This, but definitely worth checking out. Sorry, I get worked up over that album. 😂 Glad you love it!

What a list. Killing Joke is a great band, love all their stuff, from their post-punk period to their more industrial later period. Hammerbox and American Football are two bands that I would love to check myself, the former because of the grungy thing, the latter because they are so hailed among indie freaks like me. Placebo have never disappointed me, have most of their albums, while Mars Volta I only tipped my toes into. I checked Purity Rings this year by buying a couple of albums by them, deemed them okey, need further listening. This year has been fantastic for new releases, and with the new and old, it became officially the year that I bought most albums, so many that I still have a couple of hundred CDs that I haven't listened to yet. Cool that you are disciplin enough to keep that list to ten. Mine is already several pages long. Well, wish you a great year of listening and discovering, keep these videos coming, and apologies for the long rant
@Moses-b4w thank you, yeah these are bands I need to check out. Well I only limited myself to these 10 (as a minimum) because if this year is stacked with releases like last year, I don't want to overwhelm myself. I definitely buy everything I enjoy so that's why I put a limit on random listens (that are planned like this). I always stumble across "new" older things while listening to other artist throughout the year lol. Don't ever apologize, it's all cool here ✌🏻
American Footballs back? I remember them from the early 2000’s I believe I think they’ve been a Midwest emo band since the 90’s. It all comes back around! I know you’ll recognize the song “never meant”.
@@elijahbeede9895 I don't know if they're back but people are definitely buying them up like they're back or a newer group. Idk where the boom came from, but their here. I did not know they were that old..they really did lurk in the shadows from me 😄
@@RyBuysi think TikTok has brought back a lot of bands from the 90s/00s just by their music being played as a sound and then going viral. They did put out a new album in 2019 that featured Hayley Williams from Paramore so I’m sure that exposed them to a bunch of new fans too
that being said, they’re talented musicians who definitely pioneered a certain sound in emo but I’m not sure if it’ll be something that hooks you emotionally if you’re listening to it for the first time as an adult. I love them (pretty much only their first album) but i wouldn’t be mad if it didn’t hit the same for you
@@OhWord3 Oh I agree that Tik Tok has been a reason for some bands recent exposure and that's what I chalked it up as for them. I will definitely check them out as I always like giving things a fair chance. Thank you for checking out the video 😊✌🏻

My most anticipated album for 2025 is by the band Anxious. Their first LP “Little Green House” is one my favorite albums that’s come out in the last 10 years. Sort of punk/pop punk band with hardcore background that know how to write some good melodies.
You’re gonna love Placebo. First 4 albums are all great. Sent my wife down the rabbit whole a couple years back and now she’s a bigger fan than I am!

@ Yeah it comes out on February 21st…I believe they’ve released 3 singles already for it so there’s something you can listen to until it comes out!
