As a trance lover for 25 years, it is hard to think of a more perfectly structured and atmospheric track produced in the genre. It is not exactly a 4am banger, but it doesn't have to be.
Nothing to do with Lost Witness (Simon Paul & Simon Kemper). All their versions feature vocals by Tracy Carmen. Fable (Gez Dewar & Nick Hale) produced their own remake in late 1999 with vocals by Clare Pearce and got a few different whitelabels out in 2000. Fable's version came out officially under a new alias Vengeance, in 2001 and remixes in 2002 under Barraka. Mislabeling on Oakey's CD was just due a blank whitelabel vinyl which was thought to be Fable's remix of Lost Witness' version.
@@starseeds44 As I said 10 years ago, this is NOT a remix of Lost Witness' remake with vocals by Tracey Carmen but is actually the Fable/Vengeance remake with vocals by Clare Pearce.
i remember being in an msn chatroom at twelve years old, and clicking on the link to this song randomly that someone had shared.. changed my life. i played this song on repeat for weeks. burned it onto so many CDs and listened to it nonstop. something about this ethereal song spoke to my soul as a child, and it still does to this day. I'm glad I found it again. this is absolutely being played at my wake. 🤍
It's the best feeling in the world when you find trance tracks that you once loved but had forgotten about. It's amazing to find this track and listen to it all day...
Every part of life is but a season and that season was wonderful but played itself out and other seasons followed it and now nearly every damned pop artist is imitating the sounds that were created by the subversive and underground electronic music culture of the 90s and 2000s.
I don't get the thumbs downs. This is so beautiful. I've loved this song since I was 20 and it's still amazing today. This is by far the most superior version of the song.
The thumbs down comes from those not of that time , they missed out and are very jealous about it♡ no luck kids♡ at least london grammar look like saving your generation ✌
This was originally written and produced by This Mortal Coil. Unfortunately, their name got lost through all the remixes. Lost Witness brought it great recognition when their remake was featured on an Armani fragrance commercial. After that... the rest is history.

@rodfreier Yes, it does, a CD I own! Just watched The Lovely Bones and when the slow song came on I realized I knew the song! My favorite by far from that compilation actually... that was back in the day too.
Anyone happen to know who did the remix for this that was played on BBC Radio between '90 and '93? I know that's asking a lot, but I really liked that version, LOL
If you like this tune you should love Ratty - Sunrise (Here I Am) And if you like This Mortal Coil then you might just like a very old school Techno tune called Temple Of Dreams by Messiah.
Its not Lost Witness. original title "Vengeance - Song To The Siren (did i dream) Fable remix" or "Fable - Song To The Siren" discogs.com/Vengeance-Song-To-The-Siren/release/52905 discogs.com/Fable-Song-To-The-Siren/master/234484
Disagree, it doesnt take from its originality, if anything it compliments how good of a song it is to be capable of mixing it. The song has diverseity for genre changes,( could even be a rock song) i would call that a positive thing :)....then its simply down to your own style preference !

No it is just simply perfect!
Omg trance classic, never gets old. Takes me back, it is literally a time machine:)

Hello! Who is doing the vocals? I've always wondered ....
Thanks for this update. Much appreciated! 😀

It's the best feeling in the world when you find trance tracks that you once loved but had forgotten about. It's amazing to find this track and listen to it all day...
This song has a highly energetic beat & inspires me to want to believe in the mythology & symbolism inherent in it. Love it forever!
It feels like 99, 00, 01, 02 was all a beautiful dream, and when I woke I just wanted to go back.

Best years of my life as well. I was in complete trance:)
I don't get the thumbs downs. This is so beautiful. I've loved this song since I was 20 and it's still amazing today. This is by far the most superior version of the song.
They dislike this song coz they don't have soul
The thumbs down comes from those not of that time , they missed out and are very jealous about it♡ no luck kids♡ at least london grammar look like saving your generation ✌
it could just be due to the low quality of this upload - it skips every 5 seconds :(

thinking of yuo x
while I understand that this version isn't trying to be like the original, did they really have to dumb down the chord progression?
What mix is this song a part of?
Where can I find this mix on vinyl? I have been looking for it for years
What u mean find it on vinyl?
white with blue writing is the same version i have it is the Teisto remix
of that i am 100% positive
I love u
anyone know who did the hardcore remix of this
DJ Rick Orion runs "Lost Trancemissions" which has a diff mix of this song. better imho too =)
Inside outside say ya
Plant's version it's wonderful, even better than tim's one, for me. Nice remix
White and blue that is the same copy i have it is the Tiesto remix 100%
Clare Pearce is as great as Tracey Carmen. In this song vocalists must show if they really can sing.
I first heard this song when I saw a stripper dance to it. A fantastic song (and a fantastic stripper!)
