      PP FlatPack it was a pleasure. Please can you advise are these units ok to put in a partition concrete wall? The concrete wall isn’t as thick as the external wall so wondered if it would be able to take the weight of the Metod cupboard? When I assembled I realised it was quite heavy. The wall currently has my boiler a cooker hood and small kitchen cupboard fitted to it. Do you think it would be ok to add the Metod cupboard ?
      Thank you once again

    My compliments . Finally a video that clarifies the assembly of the rail .Ikea explains very badly how to use the rail. The rectangular washer that comes with it is useful for adjusting the level, but it scared me, because the head of the screw can come out of their rectangular washer (in case of seismic shocks or pushing the cabinet upwards). I also wanted to use circular washers. When I saw your video I realized that I was not wrong. Thank you .

    Thanks for the video. I’m in the process of putting cupboards up. Unfortunately I want to screw into the studs and not plasterboard so I had to drill my own holes. It sort of defeats the purpose of the rail when the holes don’t line up with the studs. Thanks for the video through as it describes how to finish it all.

    thank you so much. i had some extra black plastic parts, the instruction wanted me to put them inside the metal angle. But then, it doesn´t fit into the rail anymore. your way works, anyways. thanks a lot

    I wouldn't trust drywall to hold the weight of everything in the cabinets, I'd look for the studs and drill into them.

    • @82attilatoth
      @82attilatoth 4 роки тому

      I have metal studs but I cannot find any guidance how to deal with them. Any idea how to install this exact IKEA system with metal studs in the wall?

    • @jogb9515
      @jogb9515 4 роки тому +1

      @@82attilatoth Can't you find the studs with a stud finder or magnet and then use self tapping screws to secure to them?

    • @82attilatoth
      @82attilatoth 4 роки тому +3

      @@jogb9515 Finding the studs is not a problem. I might be wrong but using steel screws seems to be insufficient. The metal is behind the plasterboard so the screw has a bigger bending moment due to the offset. Or I may be overthinking. I guess the best is to have a combination of the wall anchors and the self tapping screws.

    • @jogb9515
      @jogb9515 4 роки тому

      @@82attilatoth The screw is infinitely stronger than the drywall, and it's not in pure bend as it's clamping the drywall, which then adds support. When you screw through the stud and drywall you combine their strengths, spread the load, and make it less likely to have shelves fall on your head. All good things.

    • @metalhead6698
      @metalhead6698 3 роки тому +2

    high ???

    • @PPFlatPack
      @PPFlatPack  7 років тому

      It depends if is the kitchen or office or different place but it is really up to you this one in the video is bit higher we considered height of bottom of the cupboards regarding height of the person so you don't hit your head when standing plus units in the video are part of the small office and cupboards will be used for storing files for not everyday taking in and out that why is bit higher. But as I mention is up to you in the kitchen is usually 3-4tiles on the top of the kitchen top depend on a size of tiles and if you using them for other storage just consider if there is enough space when you stand or sit just common sense really no rules.
