PP FlatPack it was a pleasure. Please can you advise are these units ok to put in a partition concrete wall? The concrete wall isn’t as thick as the external wall so wondered if it would be able to take the weight of the Metod cupboard? When I assembled I realised it was quite heavy. The wall currently has my boiler a cooker hood and small kitchen cupboard fitted to it. Do you think it would be ok to add the Metod cupboard ? Thank you once again
Thanks for making this video. Couldn't work out how to hang the cabinets on the bloody rails with all the extra bits. Nearly smashed it all up in anger. You saved my sanity. Thank you
I’m so pleased we found this video! We have a kitchen to install and were so confused. Your video is so much more helpful than the official IKEA video. THANK YOU 🙏🏻
My compliments . Finally a video that clarifies the assembly of the rail .Ikea explains very badly how to use the rail. The rectangular washer that comes with it is useful for adjusting the level, but it scared me, because the head of the screw can come out of their rectangular washer (in case of seismic shocks or pushing the cabinet upwards). I also wanted to use circular washers. When I saw your video I realized that I was not wrong. Thank you .
Great video. Really worth watching for anyone before using the (rather excellent) rail system. I like the system as it enables me to install big, heavy cabinets on my own.
Thanks for the video. I’m in the process of putting cupboards up. Unfortunately I want to screw into the studs and not plasterboard so I had to drill my own holes. It sort of defeats the purpose of the rail when the holes don’t line up with the studs. Thanks for the video through as it describes how to finish it all.
thank you so much. i had some extra black plastic parts, the instruction wanted me to put them inside the metal angle. But then, it doesn´t fit into the rail anymore. your way works, anyways. thanks a lot
I was struggling to work out how the suspension rail system worked. IKEAs instruction are very poor on this - yours are excellent. Ikea should employ you.
thanks for this video i gonna install my kitchen in this week soi just now preparied that rail and before i se this video i vas close to mount it upside down
Merci sans ce tuto j'aurais mis beaucoup plus de temps et certainement fais des bêtises car ikea c'est pas les rois en termes d 'explications du dessin peut-être heureusement qu'il y a des gens qui donne des cours montage merci
@@jogb9515 Finding the studs is not a problem. I might be wrong but using steel screws seems to be insufficient. The metal is behind the plasterboard so the screw has a bigger bending moment due to the offset. Or I may be overthinking. I guess the best is to have a combination of the wall anchors and the self tapping screws.
@@82attilatoth The screw is infinitely stronger than the drywall, and it's not in pure bend as it's clamping the drywall, which then adds support. When you screw through the stud and drywall you combine their strengths, spread the load, and make it less likely to have shelves fall on your head. All good things.
Where did you get the metal holders in the back that are attached to the cabinet? The ones that came with my ikea BESTA cabinet are plastic and they break. Thank you!
👍 Excellent video, thank You v much, its a bit out of date in 2020 but still helping a lot... Got a question: how You call this tool which helping You tight plug in board? I need to buy it... Thanx.
That is almost cheating :-). When you have you baby cooing in the background and it makes you laugh while you are asking for a Like and Subscribe. Thank you for the video!! You don't see many videos with these horizontal cabinets, so I really appreciate it! I was wondering there is an end panel?
Ive just installed mine, because of the eyesore of the bottoms with factory holes and screws showing , I now have to trim the bottoms and cover the bottoms with a new laminate piece
What do you do to fill the gap at the bottom and sides of the wall as the cabinet is not flushed to the wall. I am close to frustration to build the IKEA corner cabinet and a cabinet adjacent to it. Any help anyone could offer me is greatly appreciated.

You can add ending panels to the bottom or top cabinets. Many people just leave gap or usually kitchen units starting from wall to wall so you dont see the gap. There is many options how to cover them.
It depends if is the kitchen or office or different place but it is really up to you this one in the video is bit higher we considered height of bottom of the cupboards regarding height of the person so you don't hit your head when standing plus units in the video are part of the small office and cupboards will be used for storing files for not everyday taking in and out that why is bit higher. But as I mention is up to you in the kitchen is usually 3-4tiles on the top of the kitchen top depend on a size of tiles and if you using them for other storage just consider if there is enough space when you stand or sit just common sense really no rules.
Bik3rboy666 Yes you can get the rail in IKEA (small suggestion the one in the video I get for £5 in IKEA bargain corner). They always have some discounts on some stuff there.
This is an awesome video, thank you for taking the time to film this. I was so confused how to fit the rail until I saw this, massive thumbs up

The top of the rail is 5mm below the top of the cabinet

Hi,
What is the size of anchor plug ?
M5 52mm or M6 52mm, because i want to assemble the bathroom cabinets.

I wouldn't trust drywall to hold the weight of everything in the cabinets, I'd look for the studs and drill into them.
I have metal studs but I cannot find any guidance how to deal with them. Any idea how to install this exact IKEA system with metal studs in the wall?

Exactly! Why would you ever use drywall anchors when you can screw to a stud!
Nice job 👍
Do youbhave part number for the suspension rail? Got some diy to hack..thanks
Thanks for the video...Do you think I could put the hinges at the bottom instead so it pulls down?
Yes you can just access to the cupboard would be more difficult if the unit is high. Thank you for watching.
What is the name of drywall tool you use to pull screws out. Where did you buy this.? Good video.
It is Setting Tool and here is the link if you need something similar amzn.to/3yFpZ6L

Can I use that soft close hardware for other handmade box/carcass. Is their any type of guide included to install

Yes there is ending panels for METOD (kitchen cabinets) only problem is they have to be cut to the size you need.

Hello, is there any way to prevent the cabinet from opening up higher than horizontal? My mom is short :) Thanks!
Yes there are adjustments possible with long screws just loosen them little and the doors will don't go all the way up
how heavy this metod cabinet can hold? I plan to make it as my floating tv cabinet

It's called a Hollow Wall Anchor Setting tool. You should be able to buy one from the same store where you buy your Hollow Wall Anchors.

There is adjustable screw on the hinge
