- In this video, we'll check out a replica, non-firing M3 "Grease Gun" from Denix. This highly-detailed replica is a great option for WWII history enthusiasts, scale model hobbyists & collectors alike who are looking for an authentic piece of history to display in their home, studio or office.
This review is filmed in a safe environment & features a legal, non-firing replica weapon
First seeing service after the Invasion of Normandy in 1944, the M3 "Grease Gun" was a cheaper, more-easily-mass-produced alternative to the Thompson SMG that drew inspiration from the German MP40 & British Sten Gun. The "Grease Gun" became a favorite of American Tankers, Drivers, Officers, NCOs & Paratroopers in the final months of the war & continued to see service with the American military through the Korean War and, with some armored units, even through to the Gulf War. - Навчання та стиль

We used to have M3's in our arms room (11th Cavalry). I thought it would be fun to carry one on maneuvers rather than my M16A1. It wasn't fun. Even tho it wasn't much heavier than the M16 it's smaller format made it seem very heavy. Cool video. Thx.
I was an Armorer for hundreds of weapons including the M3A1. love to get one of the kits, just to have a wall hanger and some memories
Ah very cool!
I remember in the 50’s as a kid making a grease gun out of wood . My moms pot was a great helmet!
What a great memory! I definitely had my fair share of homemade arms myself 😅
Thats cool Hank! I am excited to see more of these videos showcasing your collection!
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed 👍
1:18 somebody get that man some ranch for that chicken wing damn 😂
Great vid yet again. The grease gun is one of my fav weapons from ww2
Thank you! 👍
Great video as always
Thank you - I appreciate it!!
That’s a pretty cool replica and I noticed the 109 g6 in the back ground and I just finished one recently
Thanks! And yes, I love building up the 109 kits - I've got a few videos here on my channel of those in different paint schemes 👍
I like your helmet collection on the shelf.I have a Stalheim replica of the Afrika Korps. Thank's for your videos. Auf Wiedersehn. Mike
Thanks! And very nice 👍
At this point I always just like your videos before I even watch
Haha thank you for your support! 🤘
Great video, very informative
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching
@@SpruesNBrews man its good to see people replying to the comments. Something i try so hard to do on my little channel. Got some ww2 content. Mainly aviation.
Great stuff......!!! 🪖😎🦾🍻🍻
Very nice looking. When I did WW2 reenactment I had a real M1 Grand as it had to be able to fire blanks. I sure wish they made those that could fire blanks only - then it would be great for reenactment
Ah nice!
M1 Rifle or Garand*
Good job on a great video. 👍
Next up.......MP40 ? 😁✌
Maybe 😉
Hank, does it use the same magazine as the Thpmpson? They look similar. The Thompsons release is on the back of the magazine. Love your vids
I don't believe it does - but I do know that they made a certain number chambered for 9mm (to be give to overseas resistance fighters & OSS operatives) as well a 9mm conversion set & an adaptor to fit existing Sten Gun magazines 👍
Great video and thanks for showing your M3.
Thanks for watching!
I love your work Hank, and the subject of course, but down here in Australia the cops would probably shoot you 1st b4 you had a chance to explain to them that it was just a replica 😂😂😂
Haha well we ought to avoid that!!
I noticed you never really had your hand on the replica in the way that you would fire it 2:32, is there not enough room on the grip for a 3 finger grip? I am thinking about getting the Umarex Legends M3A1 submachine gun and it looks like the trigger guard hangs too low
Hank, nice tie in with the modeling. Quit look at the sites and they have some very interesting replicas and they are having a sale 😎. In a galaxy far far away, pilots were issued a "survival " rifle, .22 cal, and all the parts fit into the stock, easy to carry with flight suits. Single shot, with a small tube of about 12 rounds, (for game not enemy if you were wise). M1 would be interesting demo - I never liked it, the best aspect was accuracy, worst was weight, jamming, "M-1 thumb" and ping when clip ejected. Original designer wanted it to be bolt action. Still interesting part of history. The government has a program where you can buy a working model for $600.00, no guarantee , but it will be authentic, big character reference required. "Google" may have listing.
Glad you enjoyed! And of course would love to check out a Garand one of these days 👍
Cool! Did customs present any issues importing it?
I ordered mine directly from a US company that distributes them, so it was already past the customs situation by that point. I've got a link in the description if you'd like to check it out!
The 1928a1 Thompson was $200. The gun was redesigned to be easier to manufacture as the M1 And M1A1 Thompson. The cost of an M1A1 Thompson SMG by the end of the war was $45.
Hi hank, sorry to ask the question again about gluing soldiers to the screw for painting, im getting really frustrated that mine wont stick, is there any SPECIAL type of super glue to use, sorry to ask this question again thanks 😊
It's very funny that you ask this question under a video about the grease gun.
Don't touch the soldiers with your greasy fingers, that's the secret.
Even the best glue will not stick to greasy surfaces.
How do you remove the orange plug?
You have mentioned the “American Heritage Museum” numerous times and have a video on the museum, have you been to the reenactment got her mother “Battle For The Airfield”?
I have not, unfortunately! But I hope to this year 👍
@@SpruesNBrews it is definitely worth it. I enjoyed the Panzer III M they had last year.
Awesome museum! Another is the Wright museum in Wolfeboro, nh
Love the Thompson and the 1911. Lucky enough to fire both when on vacation in Florida with my son and both were great.
Ah very cool!
I really like the idea of a few replica pieces for my study/model room but here in the UK there is quite a stigma about firearms, should I let this put me off?
I couldn't say, as it's totally up to individual discretion (and local laws, of course) - but if you'd like a safe replica, these guys are a good option 👍
As these are just replicas, there really shouldn't be anything wrong with them!
Unfortunately I don’t think this would be allowed in the U.K. I would love one of these
I'm not sure about the UK policies, unfortunately - but I have shopped from a UK company called Epic Militaria that does seem to sell replicas over there 👍
You can buy them here if you have an exemption under the VCRA
Wait does it shoot? I’m in America I’m actually trying to buy one
The potato masher would be neat to learn more about.
Sounds good to me!
Years ago I had the opportunity to fire an M3 for being clunky I absolutely loved it. Wish I could afford to buy one of course I wouldn’t fire it too often since the price of .45 cal ammo is expensive.
Very cool!!
The stocks are horrible when firing. Especially when cold. Kinda like sticking your tongue to a frozen flag pole. The cyclic rate takes some getting used to. It's so low you can make a sandwich between rounds.
Haha no kidding! Interesting
How expensive is it hopefully not that expensive but knowing how it is it probably is
Whatcha got there is a cali or liberal state legal firearm!🤣
