well what if i'm both?.. 😂 i did 4 different tests and i got istp once and the rest intp but i'm still confuse up to this day since both of the types are really alike.
I got both ISTP and INTP. Every time I take a test I got one and after taking it a few months later, I got the other one and it happened 3 times now. Lol. I'm confused

And human brain was not developed for fitting the MBTI types. But we need the boxes for speaking of the complex reality, where each box should represent a mean, a trend, etc... for a group of peoples with similar mind features. This is how science works, and advance. The best example is introversion versus extroversion, , the world is not divided between only ultra extroverted peoples, and ultra introverted peoples, but we have a spectrum, with peoples being between the both definitions.. Then if you are between INTP and ISTP, it can be logical, if you share some part of each type, like sharing N and S traits.
A few years back I used to get INTP, but since starting my first job I can't get anything but ISTP. But I'm confused because all of the "mechanic, take things apart, get your hands dirty" stuff doesn't apply to me. Yet also, I don't read any books ever, and theoretical stuff bores me. I'm not physically active except by forcing myself, but I'm not doing anything intellectual either, I just spend my free time entertaining myself. I've recently picked up creative writing, I write romance/erotic fiction which I'm guessing doesn't apply to either of the two types? I daydream a lot about possible social scenarios and I have imaginary conversations - those are more INTP things, I guess. Well realistically I probably fall somewhere in the middle between the two, which isn't satisfying, but it's understandable.
Hmmmkay, weeeell… The stereotypical, underdeveloped ISTP doesn’t care about a person’s feelings, buuuut one with functions that are more developed in a healthy way certainly can. The way they go about it is kind of like, “Okay, this person is important to me, because XYZ. If I say/do something to make this person upset, my life gets unpleasant and it makes me feel weird (is this that “guilt” thing? Man, this is so dumb). But, if I’m nice/supportive to this person, I get food, cuddles, and sex. Option B, it is.” ISTPs absolutely LOVE it when people make food just for them, because that means they are appreciated by the cook, and ISTPs craaaave appreciation for what they do. They are also MASSIVE cuddle whores. Physical touch is how they perceive the world around them (freaking sensors 😂), so it’s no surprise that touching/cuddling/skintimacy is how they express love. And, fixing shit. 🤣 -an ISTP’s INFP wife ❤️

I feel like I am fighting against INTP and ISTP internaly and say things like: INTP "we need to think ahed and secure our steps" ISTP "no, why dont we do it right now, If we fail then fine, we learn from our mistake right, EXP HAS VALUE MATE! FEEEL IT" INTP "sure... but what if we mess up big time and can't do a retry, I hate loosing mate, we need to WIN this time! ISTP "True... but, do we have the TIME? Is the bigest question here! INTP "True... but, can we affort to LOSE? Is the grater question here, AND lose even MORE TIME! After watching a million videos on this the first thing you said made me know for sure I'm a INTP. Or did it? I'm gonna watch more just to make sure. 😂
We’ll both are similar. The way I look at the MB test is that it’s just to gauge your type on how your feeling in that instance. But your results can change because your responses to the answers can change depending on how you feel. I took the test like 3 times over the course of like 4 years now and have gotten INTP every single time. But some of the traits described in the video that are attributed to INTP aren’t necessarily concrete. (But they are a good indicator, when he said analysis’ paralysis it spoke to me on a deeply personal level)

I couldn't be bothered enough to find the answer on whether I am INTP or ISTP, because obviously as for an INTP it would take too much time and effort analysing and concluding my opinion from different random sources, but your video just perfect explained it. I prefer to get lost in my mind, get pleasure from imagining things, rechecking everything and making sure it's all in order, which would be quite opposite to ISTP way of doing. Though I occasionally do like an ISTP, but I guess it can be a little bit of the other, but mainly one.
I think I resonate more with ISTP.. I do plan before i do things because i like to have a strategy but only when it's necessary. But that way of thinking stresses me out and doesn't come naturally. I like to think it then do it right now, that way it's done. I get impatient with myself if I overthink solutions. What im saying is, well thought out plans (all the time) are great, but what's the point if the task doesnt get accomplished? I get really impatient with that. hahahaha I was always very impulsive as a child and didn't even really think about my Fe or Ti til I was in my mid 20s. I think I spend more time thinking and planning and explaining now, (as of the last 3 to 5 years) with the intent to actually do) then I did years and years ago. I think that's why it confuses me if im INTP or ISTP.. I'm simply an ISTP who realizes the value of strategizing sometimes, unlike before when I would jump into something without thinking it through.
The other thing is, I never knew how I felt about anything because it didn't matter to me.. What mattered was to just do.. People who sat around and thought about things were just wasting precious time
8 years ago during my 2nd year in college I got an INTP result and yes I relate much with an INTP and today after 8 years I retake the test and an got ISTP my living and working environment change me.
i tested myself for like 6 different tests. i got 5/6 intp and 1/6 istp. but i do relate a little on istp. which made me look for actual differences and similarities. Now i know that its not a mistype

If you weren't an INFP, I feel like you could be INTP or ENTP, because you always go into the points of view from sensors even though you are an Intuitive. Like you said there is no point in daydreaming about dragons. INFPs would very much disagree lol, and that's a devils advocate thing to do, which ENTPs very much relate to. - An ENTP.
i used to be an ISTP, then shifted to INTP, the difference is almost unnoticeable, but then i realised how addicted i got to abstract concepts lol, i used to take people sereously rather than question cause it would be their fault if it were to be a lie, i never questioned, just listened, well i sure am good at alot of things, but id say i still do shift between the two, does that make sense?

My last two results were Istp, I just took another one and got Intp and I think Intp fits me much better (as I like gaining knowledge)

i know alot about mbti it took me years and still can't tell if I'm INTP or ISTP for sure, is it possible to just be both ?
