Hi! I feel your best bet would be acrylic gouache. I don’t have any, so I’ve never tried, but I’ve heard of people that have used it on the gel plate. Regular gouache can be used; however, it will probably bead up on the plate because of the water content. So if you have it, try it and see if you like the result!
Hi! You can use both as glue and for transferring images. It’s mainly a matter of personal preference. It also depends on the materials you’re working with. Matte medium is perfect for thin papers like the tea bags here; however, for thicker material or things that aren’t entirely flat, you’ll most likely have more success with an adhesive with more body.
Absolutely lovely tutorial!! I've been saving so many teabags for junk journaling and i will have to use some of them for gelli prints now! I really loved the laser print tissue paper transfer so much! I guess i'm really going to need to invest in a cheap-ish laser printer to experiment with. Also, does anyone know if Marsha Valk has her own UA-cam channel that i can Subscribe too?

This came out so beautifully.
Thanks, Susan! I'm happy you enjoyed it!
What's the difference between those two- the matte medium and the gel medium?
Hi! The difference is the viscosity. Matte medium is fluid, gel medium has a viscosity similar to the acrylic paint I’m using (soft to medium body).
@marshavalk Why thank you! Also, I know with one of them you can transfer images! But which?!😄

What do you use when done? Cards
Would love to see
Hi Deb, You can certainly use the paper to create cards! As you saw in the video I used the tea bags to create an art journal spread.
The journal is lovely
Great way to repurpose, recycle, and reuse.
