Mamamoo is not a conventional girl group. They defy norms. Sometimes they get criticize about it. Especially Hwasa but she is a Queen. I like MAMAMOOS vibes. And each of them is talented.
Mamamoo is exceptional...they always are.. their popularity is the most organic in the whole Industry. They struggled exactly as BTS.. they are always fighting against the odds of society and stereotypes!!❤️
You were on the right track to talk about Hwasa pulling rotten teeth with a pickaxe and question Solar's unibrow but imo the beauty standard explanation is a side issue, not that it isn't part of Solar's reason for doing it. Aya is a breakup song and their characters in the MV need to be explained in that context. Here's my take on it. First off there's the Arabian Nights set & costume design to go with the snake charmer flute melody. This establishes the main concept for the song: the relationship has been a seductive fantasy, a self-composed romance novel set in an exotic, fictional world of their own invention and it's going to be difficult and painful to get out of it and get over it. Love, desire and passion are often dangerous, risky business in Mamamoo songs. Don't forget that the 1001 stories in the Arabian Nights are told nightly by Scheherazade with unfinished cliffhanger endings in order to keep her husband from killing her in the morning. The characters the Mamamoo members play in Aya could be seen as acting out tales Scheherazade never got around to telling and that's why we see them play bizarre roles like Hwasa's dominatrix dentist, Moonbyul's Robin Hood-esque archer, and Solar's Asian ghost with a unibrow. They all find painful, violent ways to extract themselves from the relationship except Wheein, who transforms from a repressed, depressed and oppressed woman in dark makeup, veils and hats to someone who lights up the magic lamps in the room like a genie when she liberates herself. Edit - I wouldn't be surprised if Wheein thought of her character as a genie escaping a bottle - that she was "bottled up" in the relationship. Solar said the unibrow was inspired by Frida Kahlo but she didn't explain what Frida had to do with the song or why she was also dressed as an Asian ghost with the long white dress and extremely long hair or the meaning of the final scene with the dagger. Solar has a wild imagination and this character is a good example. Frida Kahlo lived most of her life in pain after her pelvis was impaled in a bus accident when she was a teenager. Female Asian ghosts are thought to be haunted (so to speak) by lost love. Put them together and you have the final scene where Solar ritually exorcizes her lingering feelings by impaling the bowl of her tears with a dagger.
I'm so glad that yoy are reacting to it,finally 🌷😍, and i love the fact you are emphasizing on the besuty of each members. People need to stop segregating and comparing them to other people that look like sticks that can snap(no offense to anyone, and if offense taken that's your problem). They are strong, domjnating, powerful and beautiful women 😍
Mamamoo the best female talented group out there ... They are like female version of BTS. Came from small company and made their company big with their own talent and hardwork... both are extremely down to earth group and funny . So in my personal opinion BTS is kings and MAMAMOO is queens. Both group respect and friends with each other behind stages too ❤
I love Hwasa so damn much, she got this fierce look, this confident vibe and her voice is like a whisper that caress your skin and make you get goosebumps, she’s so urghhh❤
She said the concept of this song was to portray strong women who will cry one tear, and then let whatever hurt them go. Solar always likes to go against beauty standards in general and is basically saying I can be beautiful and strong even with a unibrow (which is conventionally viewed as unattractive) and also a reference to the very famous artist Frida Kahlo

Yoon Mirae at 139), since she writes her own raps(and more) in almost all of the group’s songs. As well as contributing to the songwriting in many of them as well. - Solar has 37 credits to her name. The lyrics to her solo song, “María”, were praised for its inventive and meaningful wordplay. ("Somebody" w/Loco). - Wheein has 9 credits (that I can find, maybe more)
I don't find uni brows attractive, just like I don't find any facial hair attractive on both men and women. Each to their own, no need to make fun of or laugh about it.
Men who know how to appreciate Moonbyul are the best. Byul’s fans are mainly women since she’s famous for turning them gay (I’m so gay for her) but her male fans are so cool. I saw a man where the “I’m only here for music and Moonbyul” T-shirt to her concert (He came with his wife that night). I’m gonna go watch your other Mamamoo reaction now.
it's just opinions on the internet. ignore it and move on. it's not that hard. no one is going out there and cutting the unibrows of people by force. chill out.
