It may be weird to do this and maybe even humiliating, immature, and shameful to the country. But 25 countries are doing this along with us. Isn't it alright to be immature and just have fun at least once in a while?

It is incredible the amount of people joining this, I still remember when it first started and it was risky. Now it is getting to the critical mass where random people (who re not "in it") might start joining it spontaneously just because they think it is just a new fashion trend or something.

as a matter of fact, my daughter is the one nagging me to do the no-pants subway ride, which we will participate in in 2014 (we missed the deadline for 2013). we'll be on the subway with *hundreds* of other ppl - old ppl, young ppl, parents with children, ppl with bikes and dogs, etc. and no - it won't bother me at all. i have no fear of her going missing because (newsflash) i actually keep tabs on her.

There WAS one year where the cops tried to shut it down (third or fourth I think) but it still wasn't technically illegal, cops were just being overly pissy.

Okay, it's a worldwide event (heck, I believe Brisbane even had it last year, even though we don't have a subway as such), but I was wondering why it couldn't be held in spring/autumn, rather than the middle of a New York winter.

i don't see the difference....half naked in new york, half naked on the beach, girls wearing little shirts and skirts in modern days, etc. etc.
