- "We were just trying to take him to the dentist."
From Seinfeld Season 4 Episode 18 The Old Man: When Elaine volunteers to work with senior citizens, George rises to the occasion and is assigned to help eighty-five-year-old Ben Cantwell. Although Jerry claims he himself is too self-absorbed to participate, he caves in to pressure from his friends and agrees to work with eighty-seven-year-old Sid Fields. Meanwhile, Kramer and Newman try to sell Jerry's old record albums but, told they are virtually worthless, vow to return with a more valuable cache.

About Seinfeld:
Seinfeld stars Jerry Seinfeld as a stand-up comedian whose life in New York City is made even more chaotic by his quirky group of friends who join him in wrestling with life's most perplexing, yet often trivial questions. Often described as "a show about nothing," Seinfeld mines the humor in life's mundane situations like waiting in line, searching for a lost item, or the trials and tribulations of dating. Co-starring are Julia Louis-Dreyfus as Jerry's ex-girlfriend and current platonic pal, Elaine Benes; Jason Alexander as George Costanza, Jerry's neurotic hard-luck best friend; and Michael Richards as Jerry's eccentric neighbor, Kramer.

Sarcastically calling someone "Einstein" while looking exactly like him
Brilliant Observation! 🤣
😂😂😂😂 it’s the little comedy like that, that made Larry David a genius for this show
😂😅
😂
@@KingDizzleLTDinc.Bruce Kirschbaum wrote the episode 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Love Kramer's expression in the end watching George 😂 He's like "Way to go buddy!"
I read that in Kramer's voice! 😂
@@stevendalloesingh I wrote that in Kramer's voice 😇
The contrast between with him and the rest makes it even more hilarious. Definitive Kramer moment!
"Are you gonna kill me? I'm an old man! You wouldn't kill an old man would ya? YA COWARD!" 🤣
lol dude is a conspiracy nut, and tribute to your avatar name!
Histerakil. The Irish ones 😂❤
That old man is a national treasure.
Is he though?
@righthandstep5 no you are, you and your mother.
He is one of the 2 old muppet haglers in Muppets Tonight!❤
He's hilarious
@@righthandstep5What do you think Einstein?
IMO, that old man was the best one-off character in the entire series. His rapid-fire line delivery and grumpy character left Jerry speechless. I wish he had been a recurring character instead. He was the only one who humbled Jerry 🤣
Mr. Bookman
Truth. With the Doorman.
He actually showed up in another episode, the one when the pilot is aired and he’s one of the watchers who comments.
Bookman, the doorman and sid..oh n the chick that got hit in the head with the planner
Absolutely
George at the end, with nothing to say so he punts, "We uh....we couldn't find him." LOL!!
"I wasn't born yesterday. I may die today, but I wasn't born yesterday." "What agency? The CIA?" "She plays that freaking voodoo music" "Like a bunch of hyenas going through the trash." I was laughing my head off this entire episode.
He is too hilarious
Me too! 🤣😂
Freakin voodoo music… they did not say GD
@@ItsMefromSnuffys Noted. I stand corrected.
She offered me tea and put milk in it without asking. Now, that’s a turn off.
The Seinfeld gang should receive a civic reward for not helping out other people. Whenever they try to help things just get worse
well the cleaning lady seem to get some good help from Georgie boy ;)
I love how the episode ends with the old man still missing and George getting his wish of running his bald head on a beautiful woman.
Instead they ended up in jail for not helping someone 😂
@@Bee-hf3fcshe sure is a tall drink of water 😍
Kramer gets biten a lot. Jon Voight and this guy so far lol.
I think Wayne Knight breaks character slightly when trying not to laugh at Kramer's expression at 4:50 !
“With you? I rather be dead”
This has to be the funniest old man I’ve ever seen
That will be me in about 30 years...
@@moxica93 That's me now.
@@29brendus😂😂
Wasn't the old man in Home Alone? I think he was at the airport in Paris with his wife and they agreed to sell their seats to the mom so she could get home to Kevin lol.
Yeah that was him
he is GREAT!
he was a NICE old man in that one! WOW
Bill Erwin had 254 credits in his career, he passed away at 96 years old.
Got all them earrings…dangly ones 😂
That older guy was funny and acted that part exceptionally well!
One my favorite episodes of season 4. Mr. Fields was so cranky, i loved it! 😂
that old men is the only character that could humble jerry
Maybe George's finest moment. It's definitely a contender.
The old man reminds me of one of the old men balcony critic from muppet show
Omg yes!
Only the part where he laughs at his diaper joke
Didn't think of that 🤔.....you're so right! 😂😂
Absolutely 😂
I like how the end shows Sid Fields and Ben Kentwell (George’s old guy) having the same conversation Jerry and George were having at the start of the episode, pretty much foreshadowing what they’re still gonna be doing at that age.
Kent-well, Kentwell soon, we want you to Kent-well!
Seinfeld had ALL of those weird coincidentals that were probably DELIBERATELY put into the episodes to drive home a point. Authors of this show were brilliant, just brilliant, actors too!
Sadly, Mr Fields was apparently no longer available to testify at their trial. It would have been great, and quite possibly led to stiffer sentences for those monsters.
''Oh, listen. Before you go would you mind changing my diaper?''
...................."AHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAA!!!"
Best line of the episode.
And you wonder why Mr. Fields needed a service to help him make friends....
One of my favourite episodes. I love how at the end the 2 old guys are having a conversation exactly like the ones Jerry and George have.
That guy should have gotten an Emmy.
He did
Kramer and Newman stealing his records is hilarious 😂
They weren't stealing, the old man agreed to give them to Jerry's friends.
A couple of hyenas
@@fakeplaystore7991 Yeah it's weird how people's attention spans can't even handle a 5 minute video with several plot threads.
One of my favorite episodes. Both the old men and that record store guy are hilarious!
The record store guy is Tobin Bell, Jigsaw from the "Saw" franchise.
This scene is Jerry talking to an old version of George 😂
That old man was a great actor
“And on one fell swoop you have single-handedly destroyed our reputation!!!” This episode is empirical proof that there never was nor will there ever be writing this good again. You can see it in the tiniest examples
I always wondered how this one incident was able to destroy the entire operation. People won't want to volunteer anymore now?
@@nthgthin this economy? 😂fuggetaboutit!😂
A tremendous escalation in only 5 minutes!
Changing my diaper 😹😹😹
Fun fact: Lanei Chapman plays the housekeeper. In an alternate ending to this episode that was never broadcast, her character reveals that she speaks fluent English (with an accent native to New York, not Senegal), causing George to lose interest in her.
@@MikeWildePredator The 'ending that was never broadcast'? That's odd. I remember it well.
@@NVanHiker In the episode in my head, I'm rubbing oil over her body and playing slip and slide.
Why are you just copying and pasting an entire Wiki paragraph here?
@@redacted2275 Because crayons don't work on the internet.
@@CoCotheTurtle😂😂😂
That voodoo music really worked!
Newman's face while looting!
LMFAOOO!
Sid Fields is the GOAT 🐐!
😂😂
This show always had priceless characters and a way to make you root for even the most obnoxious ones
That ending is priceless 😄😄😄👍🏾👍🏾
The old man was in Planes, Trains and Automobiles.
He was extremely funny 🤣🤣🤣
How does George manage to pull these babes?
Every day I’m getting more and more like Sid.
"Ah cool it pops!"
Both the old man (Dr. Dalen Quaice) and the 'Senegalese' woman (Ensign Rager) were on Star Trek : TNG around this time.
Kramer's face at 4:47!!
I may drop dead today; but I wasn't born yesterday. Good stuff
one of the best episodes ever.....
2:00 I think Sid knew Jerry was lying, he just went with it.
Newman: " We got Al Jolson here!"
I'd rather hear you sing "Mammie"!
“We got Dodgson here!”
I have worked for people just like that old man. you gotta have a lot of patience to be around people like him for more than 5 minutes.
Sid: I can't read that you fool at 1:16 LOL
The writer of this episode based it on his own experience of signing up to do volunteer work with old people.
And he was all psyched for it thinking the old man would be energetic and “Hey there young fella!” and have tales of the war and the great depression!
And he said the old man he met was so boring and miserable, a guy who had NOTHING to say and all the writer could think was “I wish this guy would hurry up and die so I don’t have to do this anymore.” 🤣
That's not funny. That shows that he lacks character in that department.
@@LayneStaley-zl2iq the old man lacked character.
@@fakename6658 Claiming he wish he would kick the bucket already, is no character. Someone lacking personality or great conversation still has some character somewhere most likely. But the character context I'm speaking of originally, went over your dome it seems.
I watched this one the other night. 😅😅
Can't get enough though
If the caseworker had been in the trial in the last episode...
Cool it pops 😅😊
One of my favorite episodes. 😅😂
Before you go would you mine changing my diaper!
Sid: bunch of morons at 3:24 LOL
If I live this long, I'll be just like the old geezer...
My favorite one-episode character by far.
One of my top 10 favorite episodes lol 😆
My ayess!
(That's Bill Erwin's Texas Twang.)
It's the random Cold Chillin '12 inch in the old man's stash😂
Bill Erwin is great
"We uh...couldn't find him."
That part still cracks me up to this day! 😂
Cool it, Pops . 🤣
Best show ever ❤
George ripping into a guy for him not worrying about death is hysterical.
even George had a conscience, just buried DEEP under all his character defects
Mr fields should have gotten an emmy
He was also the conductor in the Naked Gun Movie, The Final Insult ; )
my favorite episode start to finish
4:13 Will you let me finish? WILL YOU PLEASE LET ME FINISH?!??!
That old guy should have been stuffed into a home.
The actor must have had a lot of fun playing him though.
Why should he be put in a home? That would be inhumane and cruel........for the other residents! 😅😅
@@rattus3102Ya got me there!
I watched this episode the other night on television 🖥
Beautiful combination of characters
George was a doooooggg 😂😂😂😂
The "Old Man" was actor William Erwin, 1914-2010. At one point in his life (WWII) he was a captain in the US Army Air Force. Good show! RIP
My favorite part is the ending when they all walk in on George in the living room with the housekeeper.
It's so cool seeing Statler outside the Muppets.
That old man reminds me of my parents.
That old man is me in 50 years.
Probably me....next week.
George had right idea.
Sid Fields..😂😂😅
Everyone should have neighbours like Kramer and Newman!!
"How do you lose a human being!?"
I actually have a copy of that K-Tel 22 Explosive Hits album from 1972 on the top of the stack of records.
I love this guy 😂
Newman : Ah, cool it pops! 😂
The old man goes after Newman punching him lol
Hadn't seen this in years. Mr. Fields is the personification of Jeff Dunham's "Walter".
They named the old guy Sid Fields after the writer and actor from The Abbott and Costello Show (he played the fellas' landlord, among other characters in the sitcom).
This actor was great in this Seinfeld episode. Bill Erwin got an Emmy nod for it.
Costello
@@Pacvalham Yeah, I was typing too fast and didn't proofread the comment before sharing it. Now I'll change Costlelo to Costello.
Ihad to watch this over and over . Best of any show. Get those idiots out of my house ! --------
Not in this clip but I love when Jerry is in apartment talking about him and says "I hate my guy. He's a mean guy, a MEAN MEAN guy!"
Krama with a smile. You doggg 😂😂😂
Old man is great actor
"The Agency? What Agency, the CEE EYE AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA???" hahaha, that part is hilarious. Old man is a conspiracy theorist too, hahaha! He gets all SPOOKED and accusatory hahaha
So George actually fetishizes his baldness. Interesting character insight
The old man’s abrasiveness is like a force of nature.
Good going, Caligula!
George literally died and went to heaven very funny. Love from the Irish one's.
He was one of the best characters on the show.
I yell at my kids when they play that freaking voodoo music.
