5:42 the “do you want to install” button did not pop up for me. What does that mean? 8:15 the option for gcc did not pop up for me here. Are these two things related? How do I fix that? Everything up until these points was working.

I would check your syntax and if that doesn't work you can build and run via the terminal with gcc (for c) or g++ (for c++) filename.c or filename.cpp then run the file with ./a.out or you can do gcc filename.c -o fileoutputname or g++ filename.cpp -o fileoutputname and then run the file wiht ./fileoutputname

You have to compile the output to hello. If you don't specify anything it will output as a.out

compiler doesnt appear when i click on configure tasks and i have tried restarting the app so could you help me with that?
