A wonderful documentary that had a meditative quality about it. A stillness came over me watching the gentle rhythmic pace of man, animal and nature. The wonder of Africa and it's people.
Sitting under a mahogany tree watching the sun go down here in Ghana west Africa and the time is 17:24GMT. This is a true miracle… hats off to the entire crew and thank you SLICE for linking us to our origins and cultural heritage 🤝
What a beautiful documentary, thank you for the posting. It's glorious. I wonder how many boys in the west of the age of the lad in this story, would happily throw away their computers, toss away their mobile phones, abandon for ever computer games and the virtual world, to go and live like him, in quiet purity, with a herd of camels, in utter balance and harmony with everything that has real value on earth? And by the way, the solo singing of the man in this documentary is completely beautiful.
Truly wonderful. Makes me think this kind of training is about 90 % of schooling that a child actually needs. Would like to see this same level of detail to record the lives of the women of these people. Thanks for great work.
Watching this has actually been time well spent, what beautiful storytelling and beautiful videography. I love the slice channel, it’s the only enrichment on the tube
Paradise is in the afterlife, not in this world. Actually ,There is no mistake in The Quran but there is many mistakes in the Bible that the Quran mentions correctly such as the position of the leader in Egypt in the society of Prophet Yusuf (Joseph). The Quran mentions he was a king and the Bible mentions he was a pharaoh. The Quran is correct and more recently the Rosetta Stone was decoded and what was found is that leader was a king and not a pharaoh. Islam is The true religion with undeniable proof and evidence. We Muslims believe in Jesus but not as God and we don’t believe God has a son. Jesus peace be upon him is a prophet and Messenger Of Allah (God) and he is the messiah. He wasn’t killed as Allah saved him before they could get to him. There is also scientific and historical miracles mentioned in the Quran such as the formation of the human embryo as well as the creation of honey in bees. There are Islamic prophecies that came true and will come true and I recommend everyone to try and learn about them. I myself know of people who were ill and suffering with issues (including black magic) and got cured miraculously when the Quran was recited over them. I invite everyone to learn about Islam.
What a beautiful documentary like l have never seen before, everything looks so real, I feel like I want to live there too !! I had no idea crocodiles could survive in the desert !! Wonderful life , wonderful desert 🐪 !!! Loved seeing camels drinking water all together and was surprised how much water there is in such a dry place !! Everything about this documentary is fascinating. Its vediography, narration script, narrator's voice,...professor's lifelong search for a garden in sahara.
Upon seeing this singular Sahara desert doc. again today, the following thought crossed my mind ; albeit most of us comment on those photographers who had to spend nights & days w/ an infinite patience in order to procure those momentous shots one after another in the face of some adverse conditions, I feel both a script writer & a narrator deserve my kudos for a job well done. The script writer who is brilliant & sagacious & the narrator w/ a sort of soft-pitched & dignified tone of voice significantly contribute to the enhancement of a wealth of intrigue, thrill, & excitement on this documentary. Thus, they certainly deserve a huge pat on the back.,,,,,I wonder if anyone else perceive the same as me?!,,,,,Many thanks,,,,,From California,,,,,,(01/22/23)

Such a fascinating and informative video. In the comments some have said why this video has not massive views? because it needs likes to go ahead in the algorithms, so just give it a like.
The presence of crocodiles & baboons at the oasis, & that extraordinary, mysterious & unique landscapes & its sceneries are unlike anything I have encountered before in the desert documentaries. That is why this nat. doc. is distinguished itself from the rest. Anyone agree w/ me in that regard? (05/29/22)
This is utterly exotic & rare natural beauty of the Sahara's secret garden, i.e., I usually associate the desert w/ interminable sand dune (when it comes to the deserts such as Sahara, Gobi, Taklamakan etc.), but this doc. pleasantly surprised me w/ that ineffable extreme & yet resplendent landscape w/ the one & only one spectacular sceneries, which differentiates itself from the other desert documentaries. Furthermore, people can survive w/ the minimal provision & of course water even in such harsh hostile & extreme place, that is simply amazing & mind-blowing!!! Many thanks.,,,,,(05/18/22)
Really good show. Im amazed at Sahara having a tiny bit like here, tropics. That palm looks like our licuala palm..or it gets called Livingstonia, huge umbrella shaped leaves. The trees are pimitive..
Very educative and informative piece of history.Information passing down from our elders are valuable and vital to us indigenous people of the Land.Just like in the Pacific Island.
Truly a beautiful part of this planet. We are very fortunate to get a small glimpse of these Desert Springs beneath the Efendi massif. There is a longing in us to return to the essence of life, a force of nature that Man only plays a part of the cycle of life, not the dominant role. It is best we only dream of this place and never actually go there.
