    Nice review. I purchased a 470 in October of 2017 and have also owned my 470 for just about a year. Our experience matches yours. Installed with 60 AMP breaker, have generally enjoyed it. Easy to take care of, also cost us around $20 to 30 a month for electricity in our mild climate. Stereo sound quality is not great(low hum when on and hiss when no music is playing) but it was included at no extra charge. Next Jacuzzi, won’t bother with the stereo.

    Oh, great! I’m happy for you! I inherited a 2000 Tahitian-when I purchased house in 2011. It leaks because prior to the first winter, I never prepared properly for the cold weather and have leaks. Some big leaks and some small leaks.😩 I have never had a Leak-free season in my spa. So, I have decided to buy a new one because I’m tired of chasing the leaky pipes and joints. I needed to find this video because I’m on the fence and I am thinking about buying a different brand. I have heard a few great reviews about the Jacuzzi, Bullfrog and Hot Springs.
    How much does your bill increase during your coldest months?
    Were you contemplating buying another brand?
    How did you come to select this brand?
    Thank you.

      Regina it’s now working on 4 years old and it’s just as epic as when I made this video. I have something called the sense ap. It tells me how much electic every device in my house uses. It says this is $290 per year. I did a ton of research before buying. Talked to my neighbors that had the brands you said above and like you lots of issues. I have had nothing go wrong so far. Very very good spa.

    Awesome review! Thanks! Question about maintenance. I am considering buying a jacuzzi for a place where I won't be spending full time, meaning that no one would be there for periods of up to a month or so or at certain times. I can't find too much info online about maintenance of the jacuzzi if you keep it in your vacation home. Any pointers you can provide?

    Hi Adam, great review- we are looking to put on a deck like you- how mnay inches from the railing do I need to leave? What lifter did you get? were you concerned about weight on deck and anything else I should know on a deck? thanks!

    • @adam29blair
      @adam29blair  4 роки тому +2

      Barry Hoffman I left enough room to walk around mine. There wasn’t a rule that I know of. I left about 14 inches. If a tech needs to work on the hot tub he or she will need 360 access. The lifter I got from the jacuzzi dealer. The deck is not a normal deck. It has 8 8x8 posts under the hot tub cemented into the ground 4 feet down. Then every crossmember doubled up. Each 8x8 post has an arm or two going up to support a crossmember. The deck is rated for 18,000 lbs. The hot tub is roughly 6,000 with water and people. But if I have a party I don’t want to worry about falling through.

    We are thinking of buying a jacuzzi. These tubs are upwards of 3000 pounds when filled up. Did you have to reinforce your deck to handle the extra weight? Thanks

    • @adam29blair
      @adam29blair  2 роки тому +1

      The deck was built 2 years before the jacuzzi. So before the jacuzzi was placed I put in 4 more 8 by 8 posts cemented 3 feet into the ground and doubled up every joist in the area of the tub then put double joist hangers on every end cap. The company I bought the jacuzzi from did a deck inspection before they brought the crane to place it, they were thrilled with the upgrade. Secondly I know it was overkill but I have 2 grills - a patio set- 8 people can fit in the jacuzzi- lots of weight on top of the weight of the jacuzzi.

    Hello Adam how do you maintain your hot tub during winter? what products did you use on it?

    • @adam29blair
      @adam29blair  4 роки тому

      I use the same products year round. Because it’s heated and made to be outside the hot tub doesn’t need any further care for winter. I actually use it 6-7 times a week in the winter and 4-5 times a week in summer. It’s so much more relaxing when snow is blowing around you when you are in 102 degree water. It’s fantastic. As for the brand it products I use a brand called rendezvous. They have filter cleaners - ph - shock- chlorine- it’s a fantastic product.

    Hi, I just got my 475 and was curious about something. Once it reaches the set temp does yours stop circulating water? Meaning you dont see any movement at all in the water? Thanks for your help in advance.

    • @adam29blair
      @adam29blair  Рік тому

      Yes once it reaches 101 it stops the pump. There is a setting to circulate the water anytime of day you want. I have mine circulate at 8 pm every night, it runs for 30 mins then shuts off. I get in at 9:30. Secondly in the winter anytime it needs to run the heater it will use the waterfalls so keep them turned on always they will turn on and off as needed to circulate water for the heater.

      @@jv122798 your electric bill would be HUGE. I have it run at 8 pm to cycle the water before I get in. Then I sit in it for 1 cycle everyday. When I get out I shock or add chlorine and run it again for a cycle.
      Advice - only use the air valves open on the Jets when inside it and running it. It will make you a big mess. Only run them when you are in there. don’t run the volcano bubbles in the middle unless you are using it but keep the valve open for the waterfall. The tub will cycle the waterfall every time it needs to heat the water and anytime the jets are on. It may run more than the times I’m mentioning to cycle the filters but as far as I know just the times I tell it too in the settings. You can change it to cycle a lot or a little based off use. I use mine 6 days a week and keep it on the lowest cycle setting and it keeps my water PERFECT.

      @@jv122798 I used test strips for the first 2 years to get a feel for the water and what it needs - 25% of the time it needed chlorine. 75% it needed a dash of shock or nothing. I always throw a dash of shock in after use to help remove any of the contamination I just added. I still use test strips about once a month but 99% of the time just my feel and smell of the water I can adjust it to proper levels. If I don’t shock it when I get out I find that it puts a big burden on my chlorine levels.
