Talk about the [trai] less traveled! That's some hard enduro at easy-rider pace. I love it. Way to explore. That stuff is the perfect case for a light dual sport. Unless they are superman, the GS rider would not be bringing their bike back without help.
Thank you for the great comment! When you mentioned "enduro", I thought of the places where I've been on my XT250 and I think that's the right word to describe those trails. The 'point of no return' was definitely more than just some dual sport single track. Thank you for watching!
As a desert rider myself, I always keep an ironclad rule for myself; when I hit the halfway point on my water, I head back, no matter what. This could definitely save your life where I live. Love your video content, really thoughtful. I appreciate every one.
Having strict rules related to safety is very important. It's so easy to get carried away while riding. I didn't ride in a desert, but I know how easy it is to get dehydrated even just riding hard trails without water for a while. I plan to buy a larger hydration pack soon just in case. I'm glad you like my videos - thank you for the comments! Ride safely!
Oh man, I know what you mean. I live in southern New Mexico and have taken my XT250 to places that even now give me pause. One time I ended up being pulled into a 5 foot deep giant rut with the bike completely up side down. Somehow I was able to drag it upright and back it out down slope. XT started right up and 2 hours later I was home. This bike is the closest thing a machine can be to a friend - always there for you.
Great words, my man! That's what I feel when I ride it - there is NO way I'm leaving it in the forest. Every other bike I had was just a bike... Yamaha XT250 feels like a good old friend who's always there and who you can rely on...
I don't usually plan to get into extremely hard trails. But when I end up "trapped" on some remote trails in the forest - I am SO happy that it's the Yamaha XT250 there with me! It has a way to calm me down: "Don't worry. I'll help get us out of here".
Thank you so much for all your videos. Your words are perfect that it's "a unicorn". I just got my 2020 XT250 last March and I'm 58 and hadn't rode in 45 years. Your videos were very engaging, safety oriented and helpful. So far the bike has never let me down and it's been a super forgiving bike, not heavy, when I make mistakes. I'm in south east Florida and just like you said the XT250 allows me to drive on the street/highway to where I want to ride off road and do it all so reliable. Be safe and make more cool videos.
I'm glad you like my videos! Offroad lightweight bikes rule... it's so great that this super light bike can actually go on the road as well as it does. Wow, you had a 45 year break in riding! I think you picked just the perfect bike now. Thank you for the comment. Ride safely!
You're kicking out some nice videos my friend. Story and insights and reality. Keep fighting. You'll be thousands strong soon. ***It's ok to keep the action cam off when things go sideways. Mindsets change when cameras roll***
Thank you for the kinds words! I'm just having so much fun riding in those remote places - and it feels great to be able to share it. And I fully agree on keeping the camera off sometimes. It really helped me focus on getting out of there.
Your videos are really enjoyable. Thank you. No bells no whistles, just a down to earth fella and his basic hard as nails dual sport. Like one man and his dog just with a XT 250 and a forest! Thank you and much love to you and yours from wet and windy Yorkshire ❤️
Thank you for the kind words! I am really glad you like the videos! I checked Yorkshire pictures - the architecture and the views are amazing! Once the kids are older - I want to travel overseas a bit more. Would love to explore Northern England. Best wishes from Montreal!
I'm glad you liked the video! I started riding offroad last year, and this year I can easily go through extreme trails that would be impossible for me a year ago. And I think I'm just scratching the surface of what this bike can do. My balancing practice from the "warmup" video improved my skills a lot. Thank you for watching and good to see you here again. Ride safely!
Thank you! Sharing the riding experience and the beauty of those remote places makes me feel like I'm riding with a group of my friends. I love it. Thank you for the comment!
There is a reason why we ride. The sense of freedom to explore roads and hard-to-reach trails is amazing, and you don't need to have the latest and the most powerful bike to enjoy it. I first tried it on a tiny 125cc Honda Trail - and the experience just made me pause and rethink my approach to enjoying the adventures on 2 wheels. Your 200cc Honda 'agricultural bike' should be amazing for that! Thank you for the comment! Ride safely.
Awesome video. I ride a 2023 xt250 in the Arizona desert. Im always pushing myself and xt,but we always get home safe. Love that bike. Stay safe, my friend. Question, do you think the value need to be checked at 600 miles?
I'm glad you liked the video! I assume you mean valve check - honestly, I don't know that much. I just go by what's in the manual. I took it to the dealership at 600 miles and they did what was needed (I think they did the valve check). I think maybe the first valve check is important, but after that - I don't know. It feels so solid that it makes me think there will be nothing wrong with it if you skip it. But, again, I don't know enough to advise on this one. I love riding this bike! I just stepped into the house after an amazing ride - I saw some new forest trail and it lead me to a stunning forest lake. Right before that I was riding Tenere 700 (a bike that I love). But Tenere wouldn't take me that far, while XT250 did... Ride safely and thank you for watching!

It's a male human condition, oh I wonder where does this trail leads to, it's like fully entertained by a camp fire for hours on end.

Looking back, I think some of my best memories are from the times when I crossed "the point of no return".
I'm glad you like the videos!
Great video and great bike! I have never gone on extreme trails, but after watching this video, it gives me more courage.
Thanks for sharing!

I live in South Africa. Ride a 200cc Honda "agricultural bike".
Your experience feels like some of mine .
