Who knew an ironing board cover tutorial could be so entertaining?! The special effects! The info! The adorable dogs! What a treat...thank you, Kate. I now know what my next dog breed will be, too. Your Westies are absolutely adorable 😍

I used a stretchy elastic to thread thru my binding to hold cover on board. It’s rounded like hat elastic. Love your new accessories.

That was the most entertaining 18 mins of my weekend! The fabric, the special effects, the pups, the tutorial. Wow Kate, you’ve really raised the bar on ironing! I’m glad I watched in a different room to my ironing board so it didn’t get jealous and demand an upgrade right away🙄 I thought the backyard catwalk and loveable otters were peak entertainment, but you’ve done it again. So glad you started making videos. You're not only entertaining but also inspirational. Thank you!

I bought an ironing board cover a few weeks ago, and just got around to putting it on today. My old one makes your old one look fantastic. About 40 years old and has had a lot of use.
The replacement is ugly. Even my husband said so when I bought it, but only thing available. It is bad when the husband notices something is ugly.
It seems ironing boards are now smaller. 42 to 46 inches seems to be the new standard. Mine is 60 inches, which is nice for ironing fabrics. Good, solid wooden model that had belonged to my friends father.
The new cover did not fit. And the options out there are not great.
Amazon has one the right length, but almost double the width. I put it in the cart just in case.
I was feeling kind of depressed and thinking of making one when your video popped up. I can make something that actually fits and looks nice. Perfect timing.

You continue to make me laugh! Wonderful tutorial. And I have to say, your ironing board is the most posh one I've seen. Tula Pink fabric! Oh my. You are brave. 8 months ago, I also bought an Olisio Iron and it came with a matching cover. And it's already ruined! I have no idea how it happens. I try to be very careful. I hope you have better luck with your Tula.

Until I went back to sewing a few years back, my iron and ironing board just sat neglected (somewhere). They were almost never used. However, like you, I also iron seams when sewing and iron my handmade stuff. Funnily enough, yesterday I was looking at my mini ironing board (which is called a Jeanette here in France - don't know why) and thinking how naff the cover was and that I really didn't like it, so your video is very timely. It was also great fun!

I didn’t know those mini ones are called a Jeanette. I have one of those also… need to cover that one next!! ☺️

Hello Kate, you now have an amazing ironing board cover. Loved your video and thank you for showing how you made your new cover. I also live in a hard water area and use De-Ionised water in my iron. I buy mine in Asda, but other supermarkets sell it., I find Amazon a bit pricey for this product. 😍

I've been using ironing water for the past few years but recently read that its not so good for your iron so switched to de-ionised water. My new Oliso said to that plain de-ionised water can be too strong for your iron so to use half de-ionized and half tap water.... which I have been using since. and yes.... Amazon is the worst place to buy di-ionised water! Get mine from Wicks for a quarter of the price!
