What an amazing morning flight, made even better by the appearance of Fumbles in the marsh! Loved watching Georgie and Stella work together, they'll definitely be a dynamic duo for years to come
what an intro...I can't wait for duck season here in Minnesota in less than 2 weeks. We have an early teal but where I am there isn't much for teal but still pumped to get some of my new equipment out (mainly new beavertail stealth 2000 with layout blind).
Elliot great hunt. I just had that conversation with Nathaniel that something I’m trying to break this year is if Rocky breaks to not say his name but “No, here!” It’s funny cuz watching Nathaniel work with Kelly helps me see my own mistakes
From the great Northwest public Duck blind Carl thank you very much for the morning prayer what a beautiful area the Lord has painted something magnificent for you two to hunt today blessings from the great Northwest waiting still for our opening soon. Oh yes graduations G On all your awards and hard work this summer. You are a magnificent Retriever.
U always upload nice videos, however I recommend to use a counter just to avoid miscalculations. Also I don’t know why they wait for ducks to land then shoot , correct me if I’m wrong u lose fun when u shoot an easy target 😢
Killing teal on the water is a more ethical shot than letting them fly and killing them going away. What ever gives us the best chance of a quick/clean kill is what we will do.
Only wounded birds that are shot on flight should be shot on water. If u subscribe otherwise why not shoot doves off the telephone lines. Same principle.
@bellegladesportsman5739 why do you care how other people hunt? I find it odd you think its appropriate to tell me what I “should” do when it’s a legal action. Just because it’s not what you do doesn’t mean it’s what others “should” do
Stopped watching half way through, great footage of the huge flocks and nice to see conservation at work. Cant see the point shooting them all on the water like that though im afraid, more than enough chance to shoot them coming in and if you cant get a clean kill at 10 yards theres something wrong.
to each his own. My preference is to make sure they die as quickly as possible. Water swat at 12 yards is the cleanest most ethical kill possible. Thanks for watching 1/2 of it.
@@FreelanceDuckHunting tbf I must say I enjoy the majority of your videos, I don't mean to sound harsh or like I'm making personal attacks in anyway. I've seen you kill plenty of birds in the air over the years and we all daisy cut one or two that we haven't seen coming in time, I don't pretend otherwise. It just felt very much the theme of this video for some reason. Glad you enjoyed your hunt though mate and look forward to following the rest of your season!
that's fair, I bet 95% of our swatting is done during teal season. For me personally I try not to swat more than 1 or 2 a hunt because it's just less fun thank taking them out of the air. I have a long history of wounding or missing teal flushing off the water. I dont know why I am so bad at that flushing shot with teal. That's why I will swat on those instead of flush and shoot. If it's a mallard i'll flush and shoot almost every time. Thanks for taking the time to comment.
I've been following you for the last two years and I know you are an outstanding hunter and dog handler. I hate to keep harping on it but it just felt so unsportsmanlike and didn't flow in harmony with the videos that u it our. I'm just an old school purist. Keep putting out great videos
@@bellegladesportsman5739 what I want is the quickest and cleanest kill I can get. I almost never swat big ducks but I do swat some teal. I just struggle to understand why it’s a big deal to people. I appreciate your opinion and encourage you to hunt exactly the way you prefer:
Loved the video. Any hunter that takes the time to train dogs, place decoys, set up a blind, (all of which take an extraordinary amount of time and effort) all in an effort to bring ducks in as close as possible have already proven themselves ethical hunters. Lastly, taking high percentage killing shots (that are legal mind you), shows tremendous conservation and a high level of ethics. Just because somebody's grandaddy said it ain't ethical to shoot a bird on the water, doesn't mean its so. Yeah, it is more fun to shoot them in the air. Yeah, you can brag about your extraordinary shooting skills, but don't call someone else's method of hunting unethical, just because you prefer not to. A lot of old timers (and as a result their offspring) still don't believe its ethical to shoot a doe. That may have had a time and place, but conservation methods need to be addressed periodically for the benefit of the game animals we love. Traditions are great, but ultimately conservation should be the end goal. No shame in pond swatting!
You can worry about your perception of what your skill level is. I’ll keep worrying about making sure birds die immediately and don’t cripple any in the marsh.
@@FreelanceDuckHunting that is serious B/S brother, the amount of times both dogs had to find half dead birds proves my point. You would be very surprised to learn that birds can be killed cleanly in the air, been doing that for 55+ years in Norfolk, UK.
Youre saying that in this video the swats resulted in wounded birds? I don't understand why guys like you think you need to push your way of hunting onto others. Why do you care if we water swat a few teal? Why do we have to hunt like you?
What an amazing morning flight, made even better by the appearance of Fumbles in the marsh! Loved watching Georgie and Stella work together, they'll definitely be a dynamic duo for years to come
Thanks Thomas, Its great to have ole fumbles still in the marsh with us. Can't wait to see more of your Alaska content!
This is what our legendary North Carolina opener was like except there were 50 hunters hunting 200 teal
This video makes hope spring eternal for me in Florida. Always like seeing your Dad out there doing it.
CONGRATS Fella's!!!! GOD BLESS ALL!!!!👍🤗🙏🙏🙏🙏
Those two pups make one hell of a team! Nice work

Thanks!

I painted my beavertail with a Kryptek pattern and do layout hunts in it and the birds are totally clueless man, you'll have fun with that boat

Nice! Wish I could have hunted opener
Would have been fun to have you with us.

Thanks 👍
Incredible hunt. Great footage. War zone for sure!
The Dynamic Duo! Nice work ladies and gents.
Yes! Thank you!

The kayak. I’m glad to see y’all had a great hunt. Loved the video
Nice! I imagine you shot your 6 quickly?
20 minutes haha. Decoyed very well
Dogs are rockets in that shallow water!!! Beautiful morning to be out in the marsh!!!
Awesome hunt, thx for sharing! 👍🦆
Not even a minute and half in and I love what I’m seeing/hearing.
War zone or not, that flight of birds right at light must've been incredible to watch. It was great to see Carl shoot a limit too!
It was pretty incredible!
Great hunt, almost blew my ear drum out with that whistle during the lost bird portion.
Sorry! :( I'll try to do a better job quieting down whistles in edit.
Dude, that is a good job with Georgie. I like how you stopped her and sent her back to place.
Thank you! She's a nice little dog!
Great video!
That is some insane action! WOW!
Those Labs are like black duck seeking missiles!!! Great work!

Thank you so much! We love our dogs

RLTW!
Nothing better than hunting with your dad!!
Amen!
Great working dogs you guys have !

120 guns

that pup of goldenboy gonna be a good one
Absolutely!! This is only her second year she’s going to be fantastic
Pretty typical of an early teal season hunt in Kansas; very similar to a Chinese New Years.
