Oh my gosh! I totally forgot to include the eyeshadow demo at the end! I will have to upload it separately soon - trying to juggle a lot of things at once!
Jessica Braun | JAMbeauty89 If you take the bottom off of the elf lipstick it's a colored lip balm! It's a little hard to get it off at first, but it works!
Thank you Jaymie! I just had to run and grab my lipstick because I had no idea that this was true! And it's a GOOD lip balm. I just put it on my lips, which were extremely dry and within seconds they are already feeling more moisturized! Everyone who has this lipstick, check it out. It is definitely a little difficult to get off at first, but so worth it! I have two shades of this lipstick, so I'm so excited!! Thanks again!
I have unfortunately made the choice to have some really negative people in my life recently that drain me so much. I really don't want to say anything negative like that, but it brings me to my point. No matter who has drained me watching you ALWAYS restores my positive disposition and I am so grateful to you for sharing yourself with the world! I needed you today! So much love to you! 😻😻😻
The Wet n Wild Photo Focus setting spray is really good and it's only $5. Not the best smelling, but the spray nozzle is pretty good so it doens't just spit at your face and it really does lock all your makeup in place.
thank you ssssooo much for not saying the starter kit was for younger people. I hhhhhaaaatttteeee when people assume if you're just starting with makeup you must be in grade school or something. I'm 27 and I started about a year ago. so THANK YOU
Diana Wodnoff I agree! I'm almost 50 and just dabbling with a little makeup, so not interested in investing a lot of money into high end makeup. I'm mostly interested in the 'natural' look, but fascinated/love watching tutorials with the more colorful/elaborate makeup looks.
mickyunit I'm 48 and love make up and have a lot of it. Most of my things are drugstore. there are so many drugstore items that really perform and you can feel confident wearing. I use Shopular and i check out every Sunday to see what's on sale. I will buy an occasional high end shadow palette but i research first. lol. My next purchase will be a good eye cream. I do have wrinkled eye lids. I also like the Maybelline Fit Me concealer.
Amy Black Thanks, Amy! I recently got into taking better care of my skin, I use the Colleen Rothschild eye cream. It's expensive, but I have noticed improvement in those fine lines. I will definitely still be looking for a drug store version.
Agreed! I used Clinique for 20+ years but started having problems once "older issues" began a few years ago. I'm 48 so I don't want to spend a ton of money trying to look younger, I just want to look pretty.
Jessica, I wonder if you can make a video about products that you decluttered but since repurchased (or wished you hadn't decluttered) like the NYC powder. Love ya!
That bag! 😍😍😍 Girl, I don't usually leave a lot of comments on videos, but you are just wonderful. I have really grown to appreciate just how genuine you are. That is a gorgeous trait you have been blessed with, and I'm so thankful for your transparency with your viewers. Yes yes yes times a thousand! Such a beauty!
If you're interested in the physicians formula highlight/eyeshadow but only plan on using the lighter shades as a highlight, the Essence single eyeshadow in Apricotta is a total dupe and only $2.
I love essence makeup! the gel liner is my go to, it's so black and literally stays all day..I've even cried with it on and it stayed put. essence is so underrated lol.
I love the L'Oréal true match Lumi!!! Usually I mix a little in my foundation, also I use it like you did. I have normal to dry skin. It can also lighten your foundation a little bit too. I love it!
The Wet N Wild foundation has a much better shade selection. I have yellow undertones, but ELF's foundation is WAYY too yellow even for me. WNW has warmer undertones and neutral. But even the warmer undertones are nowhere near as yellow as ELF. I highly recommend the WNW foundation. I have a review on my channel of it if you're interested!
The wet n wild one is much dryer and full coverage but the elf one is a much more satin-skin like texture and more of s medium coverage. Personally I love the elf one and the wet n wild one makes my skin look chalky cakey.
For anyone who is not going to fit into the ELF foundation range, try the Maybelline fit me! Great array of shades, comes in both matte and dewy, can be built up to a high medium coverage, and it's only about $6! Can't go wrong
I love so much of this stuff! But you know what I have found to be one of the things I have to have at all times is the NYX wonder pencil (not to be confused with the stick). I'm so afraid they're going to discontinue it that I will randomly buy them when I'm out so I have like 3-4 extra on hand LOL. I have a couple of hyper-pigmentation scars on my face and I'm not big on wearing foundation unless I'm having a really bad skin day, but this pencil is so great AND unlike most liquid concealers, there's never any worry about looking cakey and it this stick has incredible staying power. I just rub the pencil on the spot, dab it with my finger and it just blends so perfectly while covering the mark, then I can just set with powder. I always recommend it to people who don't really like wearing makeup but sometimes want to cover something up. I think it's an underrated product. I know people use it mostly for the water line of their eyes, but it's my go to concealer for covering up blemishes or scars.
thank you for the recommendations. I love the fact that u don't push it with the high end stuff and offer alternatives to those of us that can't afford it. always love your looks! you r so beautiful! I have to ask where did u get that choker? it's simple but pretty.
Jessica, after you recommended the elf foundation I bought it in sand and I really like it! it's a bit orangey on me but it gives me some warmth. It's sort of demi mat on me and I like to mix it with the loreal pro glow in 204. So thank you!
Jiselle Alvarez lol I feel like everyone I watch has dry skin, Jaclyn Hill, Kathleen Lights, and of course Jessica. Who do you watch that doesn't (I don't have dry skin so that always sucks).
Totally agree with you on the color pop lip liners. So fabulous. The Bh Cosmetics ones are really good too but still have to be ordered. Love the L'Oréal stay Matte gloss thing. If you blot and apply a 2nd coat then blot you get a good Matte effect.
I'm somewhat new to your channel and I must say you have quickly become a favorite! Your very relatable and your honesty is so refreshing! Keep up the good work!!! ❤️ btw love your snaps too!
I love the elf blush in Pink Passion! I tend to go for "cute" make up. Minimal eye with a very light coat of mascara, blush high on the apples of the cheek and a color adapting balm/stain. Pink Passion gives that bright (you have to be careful, it gets neon fast) pop of color that brightens the face and suits the "cute" look. Just use a light hand.
For drug store setting sprays- NYX setting sprays are amazing! I love the matte one, but they dewy one is beautiful too. I also just started using Milani's setting spray, the one in the frosted bottle and I LOVE it. My only complaint is the spray nozzle, it feels like it sprays in one straight harsh line instead of a fine mist so I bought a different bottle & transferred it. I'm telling y'all, you won't be disappointed with either!
The Hard Candy setting spray is one of the best ones I found. It keeps makeup from coming off whether it's snowing or very humid out. As long as you have your head down if it's raining(not just standing in pouring rain) I found it lasts pretty long as well.
the Maybelline lasting drama gel liner the best eyeliner I have found at the drugstore. it is worth every penny, I can wear it to work and it will look the same as it did when I put it on
I own and love the Nyx Gottcha covered! I have to use a damp sponge with under my eyes though, because my under eyes are dry and textured. So if at first it looks too cakey with a brush or finger, try a sponge!
I love how you added some application demos into the video. I would really enjoy some GRWM videos from you- I always LOVE your makeup! Thank you for all you do!
im obsessed with that chocker! also, if you want a really good brush end eyeliner, try the physicians formula lash booster eyeliner! it comes ina sleek sliver package and is totally amazing! It has actually helped boost my lashes too! i had just assumed the lash boosting part was a gimmicky extra, but i couldnt have been more wrong. great video!
I have to add the NYX mega shine glosses because they are so inexpensive and they are gorgeous! And the NYX butter glosses are also so inexpensive and beautiful not to mention comfortable. I don't know if you've tried the Hard Candy primer spray but that's a great drugstore option for setting spray.
I use the maybelline dream lumi concealer everyday it's perfect for me I tell all my friends about it and everytime I see you talk about it I'm like YESSS
this isn't necessarily drug store but at ulta, the mario badescu rosewater spray is amazing and double the amount of spray, and the same cost of the nyx setting spray, you can moisturizer w it, set your makeup, and more. it smells soooo good too.
JESSICA!!!! Positive comment here :) I really appreciate you, I feel you are one of the most honest, down to earth beauty youtubers! Thank you and please keep making videos!
It's interesting to watch this today (I hit "play all" to fall asleep to so old videos have been coming up) because I know that the eyeliner and mascara recommendations would be totally different now... I am guessing the NYX Epic and Lash Paradise.... Would you consider doing a new updated video like this? I still found it very helpful!
the Maybelline blur pens are FREAKING AMAZING! I don't get why more beauty gurus don't talk about these more so amazing. so smooth, matte, and comfortable
I love the revlon lipstick and I have the same shade too! I tried other products but I repurchased this more often. Also, I realised that this colour seems to be sold out more often here in Singapore.
Hey Jessica! I just saw your snapchat story and wanted to say that you are AMAZING! You absolutely have every right to do exactly what you want to do on your channel, and I'm in full support of you. You work so hard and your content is the best because you're so honest, passionate, and genuine. Love you!
I got the Physician's Formula from Kroger one day because they had it marked as closeout and I had never felt luckier! I thought that maybe everyone was hyping too much but I loveeeeeeeeee it more than anything! Including my Hoola bronzer!
I bought the Covergirl Supersizer because of you and I LOVE it! The first time I used it I was oh no it's too clumpy! But once I got the hang of the brush I was in love! 💕💕💕💕
I love ur videos, and have been subscribed for over a year, and can't remember ever seeing an eye tutorial, so.....YES!!! I'd love to see the eyeshadow tutorial. Now, I'm gonna binge watch ur channel for a while, waiting for my kids to wake up this fine Saturday! muah!
Thank you so much for having affordable makeup all over your channel. I've been following you for a long time and I appreciate you for that. And plus I'm a huge fan of Disney but not as big as you are. Your amazing Jessica. Thank you again !!! 🤓
I don't know if you've tried them yet, but, as an oily skinned gal, the Hard Candy setting spray is really nice and inexpensive! They also make a more dewy one for dry skin, but I haven't tried it to know if it's good or not.
As far as lip balms go, I bought the vaseline with aloe and thought it was OK but it didn't hold up overnight. Chapstick has upped their game though! I bought the anti-aging formula because it has different ingredients than all the rest. It absorbs during the night leaving my lips soft and supple and no dry patches. Wish I tried it before I bought two lip exfoliators. LOL!
I'm so sorry that you're getting such negative comments lately!! I love your channel more and more with every video that you upload. Keep up the good work Jess! Love ya!
omg you are so amazing. i feel how genuine you truly are. and i dont really trust any of the other beauty gurus only because they dont seem honest. Love you jessica. xoxox
Thanks so much for sharing and I just feel like you give your honest opinion and that helps weed out the products that I don't want to waste my money on!
LOVE THIS! You're such a humble and genuine person xx Would you be able to do a high end version? It would be awesome to hear your true opinions on high end products!! Thanks so much xx
Hi Jessica ~ I purchased both of the Rimmel lip glosses a while back, based solely on your recommendations, and they have not disappointed! I use Blushing Belgraves on a weekly basis, and it can go over pretty much any pinkish, mauveish brownish lipstick, to give it a little extra something. Nonstop Glamour is better for the warmer toned lipsticks. Thanks for sharing your thoughts! 💄💄💄
Hey Jessica! I just wanted to say how much I love your channel and how much you help me make up my mind about drug store items. Tou are one of the few youtubers I trust. I'm so sorry your having problems with some commenters. Just remember haters gonna hate but we love you!!!
Stephanie Greene I'm wearing it today and I love it too! Normally my forehead has bad dry patches because it's so dry but this foundation makes it look great and it's long lasting :)
Hey its Haley there's a girl here on UA-cam named thataylaa and she has combo-oily skin and she looked dewy at the end of the day wearing it but not greasy :)
Absolutely loved this video. It was long but you didn't bore me at all. Really need to head to the drugstore and pick up pretty much everything you mentioned!
I'm new to you're channel, and truly enjoy your videos. It seems to me you film several videos in one day, which is great, you are a hard worker! I'm mentioning this because you've had the same outfit on for the past 4 videos. No shade, I think you are one of the best beauty vloggers out there!
I just found you! You're so refreshing to listen to/watch. Also, I've watched lots of makeup videos, but so many of these products are ones that no one else talks about!! It's kind of exciting 😌🙋🏻
Jessica, you should try the Wet and Wild gel lip liners! I think they're relatively new. They are phenomenal. I think you'd like them if you like the colourpop lippie pencils.
I got my hands on the Milani setting spray and I have used it everyday since. You should try it, makeup lasts for 12 hours easily and the mister is sooooo wonderful. I think you would enjoy it and it's under $10.
Oh my gosh! I totally forgot to include the eyeshadow demo at the end! I will have to upload it separately soon - trying to juggle a lot of things at once!
Jessica Braun | JAMbeauty89. How funny i was looking for it because i really like how your eyes look.
Jessica Braun | JAMbeauty89 that's alright Jess we still love you lol
Jessica Braun | JAMbeauty89 If you take the bottom off of the elf lipstick it's a colored lip balm! It's a little hard to get it off at first, but it works!
Love your videos.

Kaciix I was totally looking for this comment because that's what I was going to recommend 😊
Kaciix it's my fave!!!!
Krista Smith Same! I didn't see anyone else mention it, so thought I should. :D
it's the only one I use...better than the urban decay all nighter!
Kaciix I'm really unhappy that she didn't even mention wet & wild nor used any of their products. 😕😡
thank you ssssooo much for not saying the starter kit was for younger people. I hhhhhaaaatttteeee when people assume if you're just starting with makeup you must be in grade school or something. I'm 27 and I started about a year ago. so THANK YOU

mickyunit Do i need to order that eye cream on that website? $65 is high but not too bad. it's doable
Agreed! I used Clinique for 20+ years but started having problems once "older issues" began a few years ago. I'm 48 so I don't want to spend a ton of money trying to look younger, I just want to look pretty.
Wet n Wild has an Amazing setting spray! Almost has the same ingredients in it as the Urban Decay Setting Spray! 😊
Shelly Rae Reed I find that it works better than the urban decay one!
Jessica, I wonder if you can make a video about products that you decluttered but since repurchased (or wished you hadn't decluttered) like the NYC powder. Love ya!
Inka Saraswati oooo i think that would be a great idea... with the amount that she's had declutter i'm sure there's more than just the NYC
Clicked on this so fast 😅😅😅
+Hollie Forrest ❤️❤️ you!
Sameee! Love both of you!!!!
Hollie Forrest HOLLIE! love u and your vids! So soft spoken yet passionate about the makeup you love. Keep it up! ❤💄✨
Hey Jessica, you should try the Catrice blur stick from Ulta. It seems similar to the milk blur stick, only like way cheaper lol.
Selena Gonzalez that would be great idea for dupe video
Selena Gonzalez hey! Melissa Autry compared the caprice blur stick to the milk blur stick.. she's pretty awesome and the video is helpful 😊
Ooo you should also do one for highend makeup!(:
Aranza Miguel check out my new video please and subscribe if you like it 💜
The rimmel stay matte is my holy grail!! It's so good and so inexpensive!
Yes the cover girl tru-naked palettes are amazing too! By far my favorite drugstore eyeshadow palettes! 💖
Stephanie F I love the essence limited edition items and sad that you can hardly get them anymore
I love the L'Oréal true match Lumi!!! Usually I mix a little in my foundation, also I use it like you did. I have normal to dry skin. It can also lighten your foundation a little bit too. I love it!
i highly recommend the wet n wild balm stain in Rico mauve. That color is my jam. The texture and lasting power is very good. and so cheap .
can you compare the elf foundation to the wet n wild foundation?
The Wet N Wild foundation has a much better shade selection. I have yellow undertones, but ELF's foundation is WAYY too yellow even for me. WNW has warmer undertones and neutral. But even the warmer undertones are nowhere near as yellow as ELF. I highly recommend the WNW foundation. I have a review on my channel of it if you're interested!
Bethannie Rian thank you for considering WNW I'm going to check up your channel.
Bethannie Rian This is the best way to possibly promote a channel I have ever seen. Helpful and more helpful. No sub for sub. 👏🏻❤️👏🏻
The wet n wild one is much dryer and full coverage but the elf one is a much more satin-skin like texture and more of s medium coverage. Personally I love the elf one and the wet n wild one makes my skin look chalky cakey.
I loveeee the physicians formula highlight, I use it almost every day!
For anyone who is not going to fit into the ELF foundation range, try the Maybelline fit me! Great array of shades, comes in both matte and dewy, can be built up to a high medium coverage, and it's only about $6! Can't go wrong
Omg the essence felt tip liner is my fave eyeliner!!!
Your video was great. I love all your videos. You put a lot of time in them and I get so many ideas from you. Thank you so much.
This is a beautifully laid out starter kit with great products!
thank you for the recommendations. I love the fact that u don't push it with the high end stuff and offer alternatives to those of us that can't afford it. always love your looks! you r so beautiful! I have to ask where did u get that choker? it's simple but pretty.
Please maybe as a part two DS starter kit can you do a drugstore starter brush kit. Like elf, wet and wild, real techniques etc.
Jessica, after you recommended the elf foundation I bought it in sand and I really like it! it's a bit orangey on me but it gives me some warmth. It's sort of demi mat on me and I like to mix it with the loreal pro glow in 204. So thank you!
FINALLY SOMEONE WITH DRY SKIN! THANK YOU lol
Jiselle Alvarez lol I feel like everyone I watch has dry skin, Jaclyn Hill, Kathleen Lights, and of course Jessica. Who do you watch that doesn't (I don't have dry skin so that always sucks).
+Amanda Wright Ashley Elizabeth has super oily skin. I love her channel
I'll have to look her up, thanks!
One of my favorite videos you've done. I love finding affordable gems at the drugstore. Thanks!
The new Wet n' Wild foundation is also amazing. More color options as well.
You need to do a high end version of this as well!! Love your recommendations!
Just use a light hand.
that elf foundation is great if they have your shade, I'm pale so I'm good there, wet n wild photo focus setting spray is good.
Setting sprays - e.l.f. has a fantastic one that contains green tea extracts and I'm really liking the Wet n' Wild Photofinish setting spray!
I had a lot of the same products in my favorite drug store products video as well!
The Hard Candy setting spray is one of the best ones I found. It keeps makeup from coming off whether it's snowing or very humid out. As long as you have your head down if it's raining(not just standing in pouring rain) I found it lasts pretty long as well.
i love how real you are. one of my favorite
I also love the NYX micro brow pencils and essence Pure Nude highlighter!
Can you do a 2019 version of this? I’d love to see this with the current drug store collections!
the Maybelline lasting drama gel liner the best eyeliner I have found at the drugstore. it is worth every penny, I can wear it to work and it will look the same as it did when I put it on
Jessica, the wet n wild setting spray is amazing! I just purchased my 3rd bottle. I didn't care for the L'Oréal one but the wet n wild one is SO good!
New subbie here! I remember wearing Revlon's 💄"Cherries in the Snow" back in the 80's". Still a favorite of mine.
I own and love the Nyx Gottcha covered! I have to use a damp sponge with under my eyes though, because my under eyes are dry and textured. So if at first it looks too cakey with a brush or finger, try a sponge!
Try the NYX Dewy Finish setting spray. It works beautifully!
I love the Rimmel powder! I've been using forever!!!
Try out the new wet and wild Catsuit liquid lipsticks! I bought one right after they came out and I absolutely love them!
I LOVE my Rimmel scandal eyes eyeliner! It's so good. I've never had any issue with smudging.
It has actually helped boost my lashes too! i had just assumed the lash boosting part was a gimmicky extra, but i couldnt have been more wrong. great video!
she deserves more subscibers!!!
L'Oréal infallible powder is perfect for oily skins,it's matte and has a good colour selection
I absolutely love your videos. Between dupes and declutters and unboxings, I'm never bored. ❤❤❤
I have enjoyed your videos so much since discovering your channel a cpl months ago!!! I just feel like you're so honest!!!!

This is my favorite video you've done in a long time. I love drugstore! You're one of favorite gurus!
I needed mascara and just bought that Cover Girl one. OMG game changer! Thank you for the recommendation. It is probably the best I have EVER used!
I totally agree about the loreal eyeliner....i own the bobbi brown and i now miss my loreal...its soo good
the Maybelline blur pens are FREAKING AMAZING! I don't get why more beauty gurus don't talk about these more so amazing. so smooth, matte, and comfortable
I love the revlon lipstick and I have the same shade too! I tried other products but I repurchased this more often. Also, I realised that this colour seems to be sold out more often here in Singapore.
Yay, LOVE the rose Vaseline and essence liner!!!
Analise Apodaca I have this on my nightstand👍
Those rimmell glosses are AMAZING!!!
Oh my goodness I love the NYC powder! I use it every day. It is amazing at blurring my pores.
LOL!
Great video idea! I still consider myself a newbie so this was helpful!
Can you plz make a vedeo about your favorites brushes for foundation , eyes .... Etc drugstore and higher end
I'm so sorry that you're getting such negative comments lately!! I love your channel more and more with every video that you upload. Keep up the good work Jess! Love ya!
I get SO excited when you upload. By far my favorite UA-camr. We're friends in my head ;)
I would stick with the waterproof essence eyeliner! I found that the regular one is not as black as the waterproof. I love that one!
elf's setting spray is amazinggg. i dance and sweat in it but still makeup doesnt move a bit. love it!
I'm now buying makeup based on your videos. I'm never disappointed and you are spot on! Thanks so much!
omg you are so amazing. i feel how genuine you truly are. and i dont really trust any of the other beauty gurus only because they dont seem honest. Love you jessica. xoxox
Hi... I'm 49 and really enjoy your videos! Thank you for both of your jobs!!!
Try the Essence setting spray! It's really inexpensive, and even though it sprays too hard, it works like magic!
You should try out the new Neutrogena hydro boost skin tint and let us know what you think! It looked so interesting to me.
crazycatlady for dry skin it leaves the most beautiful finish and it's a light to medium coverage.
Stephanie Greene I'm wearing it today and I love it too! Normally my forehead has bad dry patches because it's so dry but this foundation makes it look great and it's long lasting :)
Isamar Moreno do you know if it works on oily skin? I wanted to try it too but my face is a literal grease slick
+Hey its Haley I wanna know too
Hey its Haley there's a girl here on UA-cam named thataylaa and she has combo-oily skin and she looked dewy at the end of the day wearing it but not greasy :)
Absolutely loved this video. It was long but you didn't bore me at all. Really need to head to the drugstore and pick up pretty much everything you mentioned!
Wait... what happened to the eyeshadow demo??!? ☹️
Jenna Sankus I was wondering the same thing!
BUMPING because I was thinking the same thing!
I'm new to you're channel, and truly enjoy your videos. It seems to me you film several videos in one day, which is great, you are a hard worker! I'm mentioning this because you've had the same outfit on for the past 4 videos. No shade, I think you are one of the best beauty vloggers out there!
Elf setting spray is so good! I'm surprised you didn't recommend it.
A really good palette is "la palette nude" by L'Oréal. The colors are perfect!
Hey Jessica! You should try some W7 makeup products! I have found this brand online and I really like it especially the Glowcomotion highlighter 😍 💫
Alexandra Arina I've always been curious about them I always see their pallets at marshals/tjmaxx. I'll have to try it next time
Aw this is so helpful for people who are just starting out in makeup & don't have much money. Thanks Jess ❤️
Alexandra Indseth it really is!
