- "Embers Fire" is the first song of the fourth studio album "Icon" by British gothic metal band (Paradise Lost) released on September 1993.
A fallen time that's bygone
A crude elite that's from a distant zone
You turn a blind eye on what's 'brave'
You don't know if it's the truth you told
Anger looks on the quiet dreaming
Seals the sense incandescent ones
Hold back desire for danger
A bet you lose, you'll have no way to turn
I see the man who lives and breathes corruption
Into a circle that you call you own
Don't run away, from the pain, a claim that you deal with
A power game, from within, impossible for you to see this
Laid down the laws of deceit
The ones who cherish are the ones who'll go
Into the ashes of a tortured world
Only in mind's eye can you see a light
Harmony breaks, dark awakes, in old eyes - the trouble, feel it
Here to stay, mark the way, improvise the judgment hearing
Anger looks on the quiet dreaming
Seals the sense incandescent ones
All remains of the glowing embers
Is a bleak cold irrelevance

WAH WAH WAH WAH WAAHHMMM
Great Song!!!
Maravilhoso, excelente álbum!
Love it!
Épic gúitar solo.
hærli..konge sang
Excellent !!
Fuck yeah!
That lead work may be relatively slow but it is more contextually conscious than most of the rapid-fire diddling around. How an unsuspecting wah pedal could effect the feel of a song is also a completely different issue..

And the riffs just kill.
The solo is a masterpiece. The structure, the melody, the tapping technique... It's just fantastic. And well, I don't mind when a solo is slow but I don't find this one slow.
What year was this? Nick Holmes' pitch is actually better than on the record even if he lost a lot of aggression. The guitar sound is phenomenal, though.
April 12th, 2007. He has a great pitch now, but that boost is missing, yeah. I think, somehow, it made the song heavier.
The song just isn't as powerful without the growl cause Holmes' pitch is too high compared to the chorus...and even there he's going off-key. The solo is perfect, though.
