@@Syntheticoilprotection I do a rebuilt with my 390 FE right now. I will use the SAE 30 Break in Oil and after that the 10W30 Ravenol Standard. You can also check the german brand "Rektol" they are also a old Company with a lot of very good Oils. Including classik oils with high ZDDP. I dont need that anymore, because of switching to roller cam now
It's funny that you said Amsoil has much higher film strength because if you look at the data sheet of both product - Kinematic Viscosity at 100c, Ravenol is 11.1 and Amsoil is 10.3 - HTHS Viscosity at 150c, Ravenol is 3.25 and Amsoil is 3.11 - The based oil of Ravenol contain PAO 40%-70% while Amsoil only 5%-10%
Oh yeah if you compare a full synthetic that can be labeled full synthetic when it's 75% synthetic mineral oil and 25% synthetic Amsoil has a much higher film strength that keeps the metal Parts separated less frictionless wear💯 ♥️ See fluid performance tests - www.amsoil.com/performancetests.aspx?zo=5331179
The Ravenol DXG oil base is as good as Amsoil Signature Series oil base. Un this case, the Amsoil SS is a little better oil because ir has a little better additive receipt. Great oils both!
@@bismohadi949 The Ravenol might, I'm not sure. As far as I know, Amsoil still uses PAO base oils too. But just because Ravenol may a PAO base oil doesn't mean it's the same as Amsoil. PAO is just a category of base oils, it's not a performance standard or something. There's still a bunch of different blends and qualities of group 4 base oils. As for the additives, it's impossible to say how how the performance of two oils compares just by looking at their additives. More additives aren't necessarily better either. If it was that easy, oil companies wouldn't have to spend millions of dollars on testing. If I had to pick between the two I'd pick Amsoil just because there is way more data out there on its performance and Ravenol is usually more expensive (at least here in America), but I'm sure Ravenol is a great oil too. We need Project Farm to test this for us lol.
Gotta say, Amsoil has had some tough competition in your test lately. Figured it would blow everyone out of the water but there are some other really good brands out there
Oh yeah it does blow them out of the water at start oil can flow pretty good as it oxidizes it thickens exponentially what makes Amsoil so special is it doesn't thicken like the other oil and it doesn't oxidize and there's proprietary additive packages that are in it It's called thickening and keeping the acid level down. Also the 100% synthetic film strength keeps the metal separated keeps that film between them so you'll have less blow by and fuel contamination so your motor oil won't break down exponentially quicker makes a huge difference this is the performance tests you'll see the vast difference sometimes up to 10 times difference. ♥️ AMSOIL Performance Test Results. Of course you can use any motor oil. What makes Amsoil such a big deal is it becomes less than free Do you do one oil change a year so you save a ton of time on changing oil plus your motor last longer you have better compression and you have less oil burning. It's tough to bend your head around until you feel it I couldn't until I tried it. I tried it about 6 years ago at SEMA I got it for my C5 Corvette and I was absolutely blown away couldn't believe how different it is. It's just something people can't bend their head around because they think full synthetics full synthetic but it's not full synthetic is a synthetic blend and they can call a full synthetic full synthetic at 25% synthetic or more so the Amsoil is 100% synthetic so think of your motor running twice as smooth. Think of your car getting a half a mile a gallon average better just because of the motor oil. It's just unfathomable. ♥️ AMSOIL Performance Test Results. I use ravenol 75w full syn for my mt82 shifts a lot smoother now it’s crazy the difference I’m using penzoil platinum right now on my 5.0 but will probably try ravenol next oil change
Can you suggest to Amsoil to use a scratch code on their bottles like Ravenol. I only buy Ravenol now because of that reason. About 3 % sold oil products online are counterfelt.
I did not find on the Amsoil website Safety Data Sheets that shows basic oil composition in %. (For example, Mobil 1 does.) All 100% synthetic oil should be based on Polyalphaolefin (PAO) group 4 oil or higher. In SDS it calls 1-DECENE, TETRAMER AND TRIMER HYDROGENATED. It's the chemical name of that Polyalphaolefin synthetic molecules.
I use ravenol given more specs are up to date on the DFE. Amsoil seems very much "a hard sell"....right now the prices are about the same....4g of Amsoil is 55 if you get 4 of them. The Ravenol is 5L and is 70....so a wash. The certs are better on the ravenol....so I go ravenol.
You're exactly correct it's very hard to sell Amsoil most people just simply can't believe it. ♥️ See Fluid Performance Tests - www.amsoil.com/performancetests.aspx?zo=5331179
Yeah the pull out spout isn't worth it also it's a little rough on your fingers when you pull it and if you're not strong when you pull it you can actually spill the oil. I made it look easy because my hands are very strong my tendons are strong from years of exercise if someone didn't have that build up they would not be able to do it correctly. Also someone that's older it would hurt their hands. It can actually cut the skin because the plastic is so thin it put a ton of pressure on my fingers when I did it. Also it's still gulps when you go to port so it's still not ideal. Just not worth the money.... Lol Obviously that's my opinion 😉😊💯

Ravenol dxg is at least the same of amsoil oil becouse is a group 4 and 5 oil, is very good sinthetic oil. Loock at the piotr lubriciti test oil with ravenol 5w30 dxg only 0.01, best in this class
Close but Amsoil touched down first! What about Signature Series 0w30 vs 5w30? Or another brand 0w30. It would be interesting to see how much faster 0w30 flows vs Signature Series 5w30.
I'm also in Vegas. If u have 8 quarts of 0w-20, lemme know. But question... why do the frozen test? We don't live in that weather. No one does really. I'd like to see burning hot tests.
Great question Neil the cold start can I count to up to 80% of the wear on a component engine transmission differential The higher quality of lubricant is it keeps a film on the metal parts so during the next cold start the fluid is already on the metal also the quicker it's circulates you'll have more protection which makes Amsoil different 100% synthetic You'll see the gear lube and the transmission fluid how different they are You'll also have faster shifts and less wear on the components because of it not being sluggish. Another thing that's great is the dominator octane booster will help your car warm up faster which will get you off vital up you'll have less fuel contamination better fuel mileage and your motor will run stronger and longer. If you ever want to try the products this is my personal link always happy to answer your questions in the future on the products and I appreciate the business future business in advance. ❤️🇺🇸❤️ Professional YouLubher: Eben Rockmaker Regency Platinum Direct Jobber AMSOIL Specialist (Dealer#: 5331179) 702-472-3614 ✅✅✅ I Recommend The AMSOIL 6 Month PC Membership because it will give you the Best Value. @@Syntheticoilprotection I see that the pour Point is 10w30 is -52 and the 5w30 is -58, but say at -5F what do they actually flow like against each other?
Oh they're going to flow really slow so you just go with zero 30 0W-30. If I live somewhere really cold I would go with that because he want the most wear protection because the cold start can account for up to 80% of the wear and a motor. As you see on the test ravenol won i ran both especially on motorcycles we noticed the motors run a lot cooler and a huge difference running Ravenel unfortunately hard to get in usa have to order online and I’ve seen friction tests the Ravenel also wins
Wow that's awesome👍 I'd like to see the test that shows that Raven all is better than Amsoil that's really cool would you be able to text that to me😃 Eben 702-472-3614 I always like learning about new things and have heard great things about motor over the years as well a lot of people love that one
ravenol contains tungsten and molybdenum in its composition which makes it more fluid. Amsoil does not contain any, therefore Amsoil comes out on top. However, both oils are top shelf.
Well they do that to prevent oil counterfeiting. A lot of fake oils use legit reused oil bottles that are oblivious to the average joe. The Ravenol bottle cap prevents the white funnel from retracting after opening, so it's not reusable. Or at least people will know that the bottle's been opened before.

Amsoil is the top of the line oil without a doubt. I started using it when I was 16 and zero issues nothing but clean engines. BUT in the salt belt of Ohio I have found in the past few years vehicles rot away long before the engine goes in most cases even running the cheap stuff. May sound crazy but I went from Amsoil back to whatever is cheapest mostly NAPA oil and at times Amazon Basics. But if I lived somewhere where vehicles lasted longer then 10 years because of salt I would without a doubt be using this oil still. Im running I think kirkland right now in the 2020 silverado.
Hey that's cool actually the Amsoil is less than free when you get it as a preferred customer it actually saves you more money in gas than what it costs also you go much less oil changes usually about 2 to 5 less oil changes per oil change also less time wasted topping off the oil less time wasted changing the oil also hems oil makes a proprietary metal protector It's called MPHD That would actually put a film on the metal and actually stop the rust and keep it from ever rusting again I highly recommend for your vehicle wheel wells ARM components all different metals underneath They get the salt the dust the senders and tar and clay. ( In Canada )My 2019 Chevy Equinox 2.0 Turbo has 50k KM that about 31k miles, do would I really need a engine flush I was told as long you changed the oil the correct intervals your fine. I have used full synthetic oil since brand new. I wanna change into Amsoil once again, doing in spring here, with Transmission, oil, differential the whole works. thank you
Awesome Chris yes I always recommend the engine flush also the full synthetic is actually a synthetic blend they can call full synthetic full synthetic when it's only 25% synthetic or more so you have a lot of buildup around your rings timing chain oil cooler ports all different components inside the motor and when you run the engine flush this will help get most of that out and then the signature series will actually melt the remaining portion out over time which I recommend changing the oil filter at about 3,000 miles and that way a lot of that build up will end up in the filter and you'll have a fresh filter then. I also recommend another round of PI performance approver will make a huge difference

Hey eben I’ve been using amsoil 0w40 for my SRT jeep I switched to 15w50 racing oil but then switched back to 0w40 because of the racing oil having to be changed very often I’ve been debating switching to redline 15w50
Well the racing oil only needs to be changed when it's ready You can do oil analysis and that way you know exactly where you're at. That's the way you'd want to do it on a specialty car also if you're just doing intermittent track days you're fine with the 0W-40 signature. If you doing extreme track driving then obviously the racing oil would be ideal 💯
It's a kind of model/type designation. Ravenol doesn't just make one 5W30 or 0W20 oil, there's many different types which cover different API, ACEA or car manufacturer standards. Like the tested in this video DXG is one of their newer 5W30 formulations, that's why it has the Dexos logo and API SP rating. It's all a matter of the detailed oil parameters and specs besides the oil grade.
That's awesome When you signed up did you click my link? That way I would be your Amsoil dealer and I could always speak with you about the products. Even if you didn't it's okay you can always call him soil and they can switch you to me All you do is just give him a dealer number 533-1179. 💯, Thank you again and definitely let me know when you try it 😉😊
@@Syntheticoilprotection would love to support you and use your links, unfortunately I live in the land down under Australia. Amsoil products are very rare here and the cheapest I can get my 9L of Signature series 15w40 oil is $190 (about $135 USD), but considering a service at the local dealership cost more I'm happy to DIY with Amsoil at home. The vehicle is a 200 series Toyota Landcruiser, over here the 4.5 V8 twin turbo diesel option is the most popular. Pretty sure they don't sell that engine in too many other markets like the US :(
Lol, I definitely agree with the second part but there's actually a way to get the products at a value that is better than anything else on the market that's called the 6-month PC member in when you order as a preferred customer you'll actually get it for quite a bit less than a lot of the other oils in the store however there's a big difference one is 100% synthetic which is Amsoil the others are called full synthetic and an oil manufacturer can call a full synthetic full synthetic when it's only 25% synthetic or more. You'll see here with my link how much of a difference it is after you add the 6-month PC member to cart you'll see the lookup guide shop by vehicle will give you everything for your year and make and model engine size. Ravenol is a very good brand. I use it in my old Ford FE engine here in Germany.
Yeah I was very impressed with its performance in this video and really cool to see that there's other places that make 100% synthetic🥇
@@Syntheticoilprotection
I do a rebuilt with my 390 FE right now. I will use the SAE 30 Break in Oil and after that the 10W30 Ravenol Standard.
You can also check the german brand "Rektol" they are also a old Company with a lot of very good Oils. Including classik oils with high ZDDP. I dont need that anymore, because of switching to roller cam now
It's funny that you said Amsoil has much higher film strength because if you look at the data sheet of both product
- Kinematic Viscosity at 100c, Ravenol is 11.1 and Amsoil is 10.3
- HTHS Viscosity at 150c, Ravenol is 3.25 and Amsoil is 3.11
- The based oil of Ravenol contain PAO 40%-70% while Amsoil only 5%-10%
Oh yeah if you compare a full synthetic that can be labeled full synthetic when it's 75% synthetic mineral oil and 25% synthetic Amsoil has a much higher film strength that keeps the metal Parts separated less frictionless wear💯
♥️ See fluid performance tests - www.amsoil.com/performancetests.aspx?zo=5331179
The Ravenol DXG oil base is as good as Amsoil Signature Series oil base. Un this case, the Amsoil SS is a little better oil because ir has a little better additive receipt. Great oils both!
How do you know the base is as good as Amsoil?
@@Syntheticoilprotection lab oil analysis.
ua-cam.com/video/M27hZOZBMzI/v-deo.html
@@Syntheticoilprotection dxg still use PAO as base stock right ? , and i heard amsoil SS not using PAO anymore from 2016 , am i wrong?
Ravenol is a 100% synthetic as well!

I would like to see Ravenol vs Total German vs french cold flow test. I am impressed this stuff sounds great.
Total oil = Elf oil = nothing special or it has no outliers and is equivalent to, for example, Motul.
I did not find on the Amsoil website Safety Data Sheets that shows basic oil composition in %. (For example, Mobil 1 does.)
All 100% synthetic oil should be based on Polyalphaolefin (PAO) group 4 oil or higher. In SDS it calls 1-DECENE, TETRAMER AND TRIMER HYDROGENATED. It's the chemical name of that Polyalphaolefin synthetic molecules.
Amsoil keeps their mixtures proprietary they are the best in the world.

Nice comparison there...I do like the pull out pour spout idea...other than that...Amsoil for the win!
Lol
Obviously that's my opinion 😉😊💯
For the price I would go with Ravenol, Amsoil is crazy expensive

Ravenol dxg is at least the same of amsoil oil becouse is a group 4 and 5 oil, is very good sinthetic oil. Loock at the piotr lubriciti test oil with ravenol 5w30 dxg only 0.01, best in this class
Close but Amsoil touched down first! What about Signature Series 0w30 vs 5w30? Or another brand 0w30. It would be interesting to see how much faster 0w30 flows vs Signature Series 5w30.
Great suggestion will definitely do one

I always like learning about new things and have heard great things about motor over the years as well a lot of people love that one
ravenol contains tungsten and molybdenum in its composition which makes it more fluid. Amsoil does not contain any, therefore Amsoil comes out on top. However, both oils are top shelf.
What is your daily driver?
Haha, the Germans really do overengineer everything! Even a simple bottle
😁😄
How many people try to be heros, and not use a funnel
Lol, yeah it's funny when the oil burns on the exhaust manifolds 😁
Well they do that to prevent oil counterfeiting. A lot of fake oils use legit reused oil bottles that are oblivious to the average joe. The Ravenol bottle cap prevents the white funnel from retracting after opening, so it's not reusable. Or at least people will know that the bottle's been opened before.
Ravenols are great for sure but the Amsoil is in genral so much better and easier to go with
Oh yeah tell me about it 😊😃💯

Check this MP HD metal protector - www.amsoil.com/p/heavy-duty-metal-protector-amhsc/?zo=5331179

Hi, ravenol it's a good brand ?
I have no idea I've never put extensive research into the products.
I would drool on a bus for bottles of Amsoil 😆 Thanks for reminding me it’s almost time for a filter change!
That's a good one 😁😄
Yeah once the oil starts getting dark that's when you know it's time to change the filter you'll notice your car will run a lot better too smoother and the oil will actually clear up a little bit it'll actually look clearer and about a hundred miles.
I also recommend another round of PI performance approver will make a huge difference
Have you ever done a cold flow test between 0w-, 5w-, and 10w- ? All Amsoil?
Not yet but the differences are very small because it's 100% synthetic and it would not show a whole lot.
I like the show big differences so people can get an idea of really what's in their car and what their options are.
Definitely check out see technical data bulletin under each product description you'll see all the cold flow numbers on the ends of our website under each product it's a blue highlighted link see technical data bulletin 💯😃

@@Syntheticoilprotection thank you. The reason I ask is because my 2010 Genesis takes 5w-20 by the book on your site, but living in Alberta where it routinely goes below -35C I’ve been inclined to use 0w-20 for more cold start protection
Oh yeah you'll be really happy with the 0W-20 👍😊
I had a question about the amsoil flush product you have I want to use this product but I have a VVT just want to ask if it's safe to use?
Yes you can use the engine flush on any gas or diesel motor I highly recommend doing the PI performance improver as well and the power foam.

Can you make a test with Amsoil 5w30 european model?
Hey eben I’ve been using amsoil 0w40 for my SRT jeep I switched to 15w50 racing oil but then switched back to 0w40 because of the racing oil having to be changed very often I’ve been debating switching to redline 15w50
Well the racing oil only needs to be changed when it's ready You can do oil analysis and that way you know exactly where you're at.
That's the way you'd want to do it on a specialty car also if you're just doing intermittent track days you're fine with the 0W-40 signature.
If you doing extreme track driving then obviously the racing oil would be ideal 💯
If you try the red line let me know what you think of it I have heard good things about it.
@@Syntheticoilprotection I will for sure I mainly want the 15w50 for the better heat protection from what I’ve read in the SRT groups
Sweet!
Then I would definitely run the 15w50 dominator racing oil if it was my vehicle 👍😉🎬
What do the abbreviations mean on ravenol’s bottles? For example DFE, ECS, DXG, etc
That's a great question I have no idea
It's a kind of model/type designation. Ravenol doesn't just make one 5W30 or 0W20 oil, there's many different types which cover different API, ACEA or car manufacturer standards. Like the tested in this video DXG is one of their newer 5W30 formulations, that's why it has the Dexos logo and API SP rating. It's all a matter of the detailed oil parameters and specs besides the oil grade.
Have you seen the results?

What type of truck is it?
@@Syntheticoilprotection would love to support you and use your links, unfortunately I live in the land down under Australia. Amsoil products are very rare here and the cheapest I can get my 9L of Signature series 15w40 oil is $190 (about $135 USD), but considering a service at the local dealership cost more I'm happy to DIY with Amsoil at home. The vehicle is a 200 series Toyota Landcruiser, over here the 4.5 V8 twin turbo diesel option is the most popular. Pretty sure they don't sell that engine in too many other markets like the US :(
Great and thank you for being a part of my UA-cam community!

If we start up the freezer again this winter will definitely get into those thank you for the suggestions💯😉
Amsoil is Expensive but it is more expensive if your engine gets a problem
