My son Paul got this review done. It was a total surprise and I love it. Thank you Paul. Love you and my truck.. There is a lot more than just the rack that is after market. The truck looks great straight from the factory but the tires and rims looked like donuts they were so small so that had to get changed. That made the truck even taller and at 5’5” I couldn’t get in it, so had to add the electric running boards. Because the running boards tuck under it gives a little more clearance. The bump step is also due to my height but looks awesome. It came with single exhaust which I hated, it wasn’t loud enough so we put a massive dual exhaust on it. It still needs a horn to match. The bed cover, bed extender, and a few other little details are also after market. It is an awesome truck to drive. You are really high up and he is right, you feel like you could concur the world in this monster. It is so big, it doesn’t really feel that much different when I get in my husband’s semi.

Now that's a good-looking truck. The diesel isn't available in Power Wagons because the intercooler goes where the winch goes. I've always heard that Power Wagons ride soft. Overlanders usually have to install stiffer rear springs because the stock springs are designed for articulation. I didn't hear that Stellantis was discontinuing the truck 6.4L and I assumed that it was going to continue because heavy-duty trucks are in a different emissions class.

I love my 2022. I have to disagree with his perspective of ride quality though. Mine floats down the road for a big truck. Tire choice has a lot to do with ride stiffness. The stock Goodyears do ok, but only get about 30k miles before they loose integrity for any offroad use. Bf Goodrich KO2 tires offer superb traction in sand, rock, and in snow, where I live these are perfect all season tires. I have run the KO2 on several trucks, a jeep, and average about 50k miles before needing to get new tires. Not because they are bald, but at 50% tred depth the snow traction begins to fade. Ride is still smooth, and buttery.
The steering in the 2022 is an active assist. It responds with speed of input. So if you drive with twitchy hands and constant over correction it is a wild ride. Smooth out your inputs, it floats softly.
These new trucks are just that. New. For those complaining that they don’t look like a 70s beast….well no S&$#. If thats what you like, get the old school truck, and refurbish it new. Probably be about similar costs, maybe less depending on how deep you dive. The new can still perform off road with the best of them stock, and better with a few tweeks of upgrades. But who owns a stock offroad beast anyway?

The 6.4 in the Ram isn't leaving and the block is the same as the SRT motor - everything beyond that is different. The Power Wagon has a long history and continues be used as fire rescue, border patrol, ranching and other related categories. 90% of the offroad capability of a wrangler but with that 10% loss you gain a platform 90% capable of a work based heavy duty pick up. Still has zero competition to this day with the best alternative being a Ford F250 Tremor which still misses out on a few of the offroad goodies however gains 35 inch tires and better payload.

They actually have a thicker casting, so people use the truck motors for their high hp drag builds. Internally they're pretty similar but the trucks don't have MDS(cylinder diactivation) and obviously a different cam and intake setup for more torque down low. It's a pretty stout engine, I'd almost take one over a Cummins if I wasn't towing super heavy often. I'm sure the 6.4 would turn out more reliable

3:39 and this is why I dont like modern vehicles. Dont get me wrong they're beautiful. Hell Dodge has been making some very beautiful trucks in recent years. But ugh all this tech drives me insane. Usually i have to teach myself real quick how to function this crap when I get in customers cars at the shop.

Sorry Shooting Cars but i had to cut your video short. Thats not a Power Wagon, that truck is what Karen and Ken would drive. Dodge or Ram have seriously dropped the ball, all computerised garbage, this is no longer a real mans truck. This is what Karen drives to the mall and Ken asks for permission to drive to the gas station so Karen has enough fuel for next weeks mall trips. This is so sad. Come on Ram real men want real floor shifters for 4 wheel drive and Manuel transmissions, not stupid nobs for select a gear. Then you have those stupid TV screens to scroll through, this is all garbage.
