It would absolutely cook those tyres. The F2004 was designed with an effort to try and put as much energy as possible on the Bridgestone tyres ( the Bridgestone tyres which were also developed to match the charactristics of the ferrari cars and michael schumacher's driving style ), the tyres which would've been much much harder than the current pirelli tyres. It's not like you can say < ok i'll just balt on a set of slick pirelli tyres on that car and go 5 seconds faster instantly >. Nowadays, pirelli develope the tyres for all of the teams to make sure there aren't big differences between how the different cars work the tyres, and it's down to the teams to make a car that works better with the pirelli tyres. Whilst at the early 2000s, Bridgestone was basically making a tyre for Ferrari and then also giving those tyres to their other custumers. That's why Ferrari was always the only bridgestone team to fight for wins and titles, whilst on the other hand Renault and Mclaren were both using michelin tyres and they were both fighting for wins and titles.

There is still A LOT of time left in that run, and remember that 2003 cars were 3-4 seconds slower than 2004/2005 cars. I know fans don't like to accept it but 2004/2005 cars were the fastest IF their full powers are unleashed. And just remember that the 2000s cars are built on regulations intended to HEAVILY slow them down, while modern cars are built on regulations to increase speed; wider chassis, wider tyres, wider rear wing and slick tyres.

How does the game Calculate the grip level between Slick and Groved tires ? I mean slicks have more Surface … therefore more Grip but does it get calculated by the the surface area ? Or is it just a number that is. Switched to the Slick number ?
I remember that time when they came with grooved tyres, they explained it as they wanted to slow down the cars, because they were too fast. With slicks especially F2004 is an unbeatable beast. Ferrari could try just for a show come with one of F2004 and put it on the track in 2023, just to show how it would do today :), I think they could also make a DRS on it. It would be amazing :)

Sorry to say it, but the F2004 would not reach anywhere near 354 kilometers per hour on that back straight, with or without slicks. Charles Leclerc ran the F2003 at Abu Dhabi with slicks, and it was about 8 seconds slower than his 2022 qualifying lap time. The F2004 is only a couple of seconds faster than the F2003. With or without slicks, the V6-era cars are just faster. Sorry.
Charles wasn't pushing at all. Also, he is not used to that car anywhere near as much as Michael and Rubens were. In any case, the F2003 on slicks would be much faster than the F2003 on grooved tyres. At least 2 seconds. And the F2003 on grooves isn't 10 seconds a lap slower than any hybrid F1. The back straight top speed is hugely limited by the entry speed from Ascari, which slick tyres help mitigate.
I love the way people have this concept that the 2004 cars with slick tyres would have been the fastest ever. Do they forget that the 2020 cars had aerodynamics and power that greatly surpassed the V10 era including the "2004 cars". Would actually love to see a real lap of the 2004 cars with the 2020 spec pirelli tyres go full pelt around the same tracks the W11 set the records on. Garauntee you the 2020 Mercedes will still leave the F2004 trailing.
the power in total surpasses the v10 era, thats true but its only available for a fraction of the lap. on average the 2004 cars have more power available over the entire lap, and they were much much lighter. they have a better power to weight than the "total power" 2020 cars, much more if you take away the ers system, which isnt available at all times. (hint -> ralf schumacher actually confirmed this) the only bonus the 2020 cars have is that theyre so big on track that its hard to overtake them. apart from that i think the 2004 cars are faster in total
@@joaovictorramos5582 you mean that the 2020 cars win on aero alone? i'd say that highly depends on the track. on high downforce tracks it might be true, but the lighter cars will have more aerodynamic effect from the more limited aerodynamics. im not sold on a heavier car with less power will be faster overall because of different aerodynamics (remember the 2004 cars had less limiting rules for the wings and underbody)

Tires dont improve top speed lol. F2004 top speed in Monza was 368 km/h (Schumacher). Only the BMW Williams reach higher top speed of 372 (Montoya).
Try Nurburgring but not only it includes the Nordschleife but also the Sudschleife (Gesamtstrecke)
