Lore: very long.
Plankton was thinking about how to steal the krabby patty formula one day and thought of a plan to kill off krabs so that he can get the secret formula and sell the krabby Pattys without worry, but he knew he had to get a great cook too, so he also thought of kidnapping Patrick and Squidward and keeping them hostage so he can force SpongeBob to cook for him and if he didn’t they would die. However Karen thought Plankton was going too far and tried to make him not commit to the plan, plankton broke Karen apart so she wasn’t in the way. And he knew he needed someone to help him because he couldn’t do the plan alone, he found SpongeBob’s cousin Stanley, and he knew if he hired him it would be harder for SpongeBob to fight back because he wouldn’t hurt his family. Plankton manipulated stanley into thinking that he wasn’t loved by his family and made him think plankton was the only one that cared. Plankton soon later built a mech suit so that he can easily take down krabs and the others. Plankton took them into the grease trap room to fry them alive. He left a note at spongebob’s doorstep so he can get SpongeBob right where he wanted. SpongeBob made it and saw plankton lowering them down into the grease, SpongeBob was filled with rage and decided to fight plankton, he got plankton out of the mech suit and punched his face multiple times.. but plankton’s plan still wasn’t over.. as Stanley came from behind..

I love that it's starting to become a thing where people use Stanley as Luigi when it comes to replacing Mario themed stuff
ngl, having stanley works so *s o* much more well than patrick, patrick doesn't seem like the kinda guy to betray his best friend, but he seems naive enough to do it.
I mean. Neither is Luigi, really. But the creepypasta takes creative liberties in making the green plumber that much of an asshole anyway.
I personally feel like Patrick fits well enough tho. He’s VERY close to SpongeBob, arguably more so then Stanley. And to his credit, there were some times in the show where Patrick was visibly jealous of SpongeBobs competence compared to his lack of such. With jealousy being one of IHY Luigi’s main characteristics, Patrick definitely fits more in my book.
Stanley’s more of a unique pick though, and I like the art and cover, so meh who cares, lol.

Stanley is actually a formidable opponent against Spongebob, all Stanley has to do to kill Spongebob is just touch him, really.
Spongebob ate his own hands, they regenerated and feels punches as tickles. I think Bob can easily recover from that

Like the whole cover, and it's a better replacement for Patrick as it makes more sense.
There was no Peach in the "I HATE YOU!" covers with him, and Patrick does not have the intelligence or motivation to craft a scheme, unlike Stanley, who is constantly tired of being a clumsy screw-up.

I have a theory that after Stanley went insane due to Planktons manipulation, he was barely even a person anymore, I also theorize spongebob literally killed plankton, and at the end of the song spongebob wins by straight up throwing his own cousin into the grease. The image of him and Stanley with Stanley being burnt to a crisp is sort of a reminder of what Spongebob had to do to survive, i think Stanley would have killed Spongebob if it had not been for the grease pit. Futhermore I think Spongebob himself is probably going a bit crazy, considering the fact he is obviously bleeding and the way he looks at Stanley leads me to believe he just does not care anymore.
