- Here is another video from a training series for the Antelope Valley Schools Transportation Agency. or AVSTA. The video covers Railroad crossing procedure and Student Red Light Escort Crossing Procedures. A MILLER-BELL MEDIA PRODUCTION LLC.
In Florida we have to open the door at railroad crossings. At least we had to when I drove a school bus 20 years ago.
This work is Straight Fire! Keep producing this Top Notch content and let's support each other!
I dont remember the bus driver ever doing this when i rode the bus
I am a school bus driver I never leave the bus! Safety issue here!
All of the buses must stop at all railroad crossings
I'm not a bus driver, but this somewhat confuses me. The railroad crossing part I can understand, but the red light part makes me ask: 1. Why would the bus pull over like a city bus? A school bus is authorized to stop on the road when loading/unloading. 2. Why would the driver get off the bus, if it's a special needs bus then ok. Now I know school bus procedures differ by state, but I feel this way is a waste of time
This one bus driver in my district goes really fast and gives bus tickets to kids because they were not sitting properly even though they were.
Really? Since when should a driver get out of the seat, leaving children on a running bus? Not in Connecticut
It seems that School Bus Student Escort is slightly different on my motor carrier. The Red Crossover lights are usually activated before setting the bus to neutral and setting the parking brake. I come from the Los Angeles area, though.
Yea they have just red lights right no yellow
Yea in are town he activate yellow 100 feet from the stop and then turn reds when the bus stops

When I worked there we used to take the key, are they not doing it anymore?
As a professional driver you know that you need to remove the ignition keys when ever leaving the driver compartment. So why the question????
Is Not Safe when he exit the bus and leaving the keys in the bus with children's inside
I was thinking more of the parking brake, but yes that is also true.
This was very interesting information.
That's not we do it down here
It seems that they don't want trespasser's on the bus........at the railroad tracks. But yet they leave the door open at stops for a guy to just walk in. This is ridiculous.
Jj
No safety vest for the driver? If there going to stand in the lane of traffic wouldn't u want a yellow safety vest on
He forgot to take the key
Martha Gomez its not that simple the flashing red lights won,t work without the key
Stephen Sullivan what state are you from lmao. In CA reds work without the key. Required by law
