Xytan wasn't exactly the largest elite as it was suggested by Eric Nylund (the writer) that his physical stature was augmented by a ceremonial head dress, platform shoes, and holographic manipulation. It's also said that in the scene he appears in, holographic magnification is used so that he appeared to be thirty meters above the crowd, and image replication was used to make his face appear in 4 directions simultaneously to the crowd. I'll rip the quote straight out the book. 'In the center of the oration chamber aboard the super-carrier Sublime Transcendence, Xytan's image was holographi-cally magnified so he towered thirty meters before them, and image replications made his face present in four directions simultaneously to the crowd.' I'm just saying, his massive height seems unlikely and the evidence supports the theory that his physical attributes were altered during his appearance. I wouldn't say it's impossible he's that large though, but he'd probably have some kind of growth disease like a lot of our abnormally tall humans do. So, more than likely improbable as any Sangheili with such deformities would more than likely end up discarded. So, a small chance. And even if he is this large, he definitely is not as physically capable as most Sangheili. Also, he was ATOMIZED by the NOVA bomb which destroyed two thirds of his fleet and destroyed one of Joyous Exultation's moons. He is 100% gone.
Oh, I wouldn't doubt that he's a larger elite as tallness generally comes hand in hand with good genetics, which would also be responsible for his intelligence and his adeptness at naval warfare.
The most ferociuos enemy the galaxy could have faced would be: 1) Flood in its keymind form 2) Didact with his composer and multiple human colonies composed 3) Xytan Jar Wattinree with his entire armada of 1 super carrier, 52 carriers and thousands of bombers and cruiser
I think it was one of the old game manuals that said a spartan was basically the equivalent to a red elite. I liked that, it helped solidify just how desperate the war was. Those guys were everywhere, meanwhile we had 30-something Spartans total and just lost our second most important planet. The war felt unwinnable, which heightened the tensions in the game all the further. Splitting the elites from the covenant was now a huge moment because this race of basically Spartans was now on our side, and eventually we barely win together.
@@WeBackUp6911 In the novel First Strike a brute almost killed master chief and that brute wasn't even a chieftain. In terms of strength a brute can easily beat a spartan 2 but in term of agility and strategy a spartan can beat a brute. In Halo legends an elite beated master chief in a sword fight.
@@dragonleo_ if an elite lost to a human with their own sword in a legitimate duel that would be retarded. Eric nylund novels are soft retconned because of bungie. Take it with a grain of salt outside of the 343 approved new novels. All good books regardless. But canon? Not so much since halo reach.
I'm nearly sure that the Sangheli armour is actually similar to MJOLNIR as in its power enhanced and does give benefits like MJOLNIR. If you want to see a good break down, see Instillation00's breakdown on Sangheli combat harness. I believe that the Sangheli believed that their harness was given to them by the Forerunners
What if the elite that killed kat, Emile, and the one that we see at the end of reach with the energy sword and the one who destroyed the nova bomb trigger is really the Arbiter. Just a fun fan theory that I believe.
@@flyingthrills4440 I don't think so. Even the Arbiter would have steered clear of Xytan. And the Arbiter and Chief were considered equals as far as Bungie was concerned. That's what the phrase "Were it so easy" meant, that they would both struggle to kill one another, and the fight would be even.
None of them can get the chief. There is one thing the UNSC has that gives them such a great advantage: plot shielding. (Or the fact that the Librarian's geias literally gifted chief the souls of thousands of ancient human warriors, or their essence.)
True. Those same Ancient Humans fought off warrior-servant Forerunners in ships in CQC, so even just peripheral muscle memory and reflexes here and there would save the Chief's life many times over.
@@fadelsukoco3092 Ancient humanity in the Halo universe is hands down my favorite non UNSC faction. From the fact that they literally were fighting the flood AND the forerunners at the same time to just how awe inspiring a title such as 'The Lord of Admirals' really is. One of the toughest scenes to watch in the entirety of Halo is when Forthchenko (sorry if spelt incorrectly) called for the extermination of millions of forerunners because their world was tainted by the flood. The amount of grief in such a few lines as they new their duty to the mantle required such actions be done. Really hits deep. Just as the story of 343/Chakas/Forthchenko and all his (their?) losses. In the 8th Spartan Ops episode where The Shangheli Gek fought and overpowered Thorne who was an armored Spartan 4, it was revealed the Gek killed many Spartans in the pass according to Paul Demarco. "The Spartan program was justified because of the elites." Except they were made before the Covenant was even discovered. Spartans were made to fight insurrectionists. Granted, the Spartan program saved humanity, but when it was first created it was far from justified.
What I want to happen during Halo Infinite. Chief manages to find Cortana at the end of a massive battle between the UNSC Marines and Cortana's troops, and traps her, and is in the position to kill her, but simply cannot bring himself to do it, and begins to have a mental breakdown, falling to Cortana's feet, sobbing. Cortana begins to feel again, realizing that she loves Chief, and kneels next to Chief and takes off his helmet. We see tears rolling down his muscular, battle-scared face. Cortana holds Chief, stroking his face and wiping his tears, and for the first time tells Chief that she loves him, and then goes on to say what she says at the end of the Discover Hope trailer. Cortana looks out across the battlefield, seeing the suffering and death that she has caused, and asks Chief for forgiveness. Chief reaches up with a battle-armored glove, and strokes Cortana's face, quietly telling her that he does forgive her. Cortana summons all of her remaining AIs and Guardians, and destroys the Guardians, and returns the AI to the UNSC. Cortana finally reenters the chip that was supposed to kill her, but Chief doesn't use it to kill her, but instead reinserts the chip into his helmet. The player is returned to the standard in-helmet POV, and Cortana appears on the HUD, smiling warmly, and John whispers to her in a loving tone, "Welcome home, Cortana", in a nod to the end of Halo 4, and the screen fades to black.

Oooooh. Are you saying that of this 11 foot tall imperial leader elite is the one from ghosts of onyx? The one that kills Kurt right before the bomb goes off after the rest of his team enter the Dyson phere? This makes that book even better!
I like the Prelates, they are probably the closest things we have ro getting an idea about what the Ancient San Shyuum who went toe to toe against the Forerunners alongside Ancient Humanity would have been like. On the topic of supersoldiers and Forerunners, if Imperial Admiral Wattinree ever did get genetically-enhanced by the Covenant, we could be looking at what could only be justly described as a Sangheili 3rd form Warrior-servant.
It was pretty well established in the early books that the Elites were essentially a worthy and equal enemy for Spartans. Even a simple Minor could go toe to toe with one and come out on top, with particularly skilled Spartans, such as Master Chief, being exceptions to the rule. Much like the Arbiter, or Atriox for the Brutes. Fall of Reach clearly stated that in 2552 the UNSC had only estimated that there were higher ranking leadership units that noone had seen, and survived to report about, within the Covenant military. That included Elites, and Prophets, since the Elites never left any survivors. And it was the Elites being deployed on Reach that was given as the reason the Spartan IIs were wiped out even before the planet was glassed. But that was ret-conned when Halo Wars came out, which also marked the point where Elites became less, and less threatening in the lore of the series, and we slowly went from "You are the last of your kind, built for combat, bred for war." to "Oh look, like half the Spartan IIs were actually secretly still alive, and there are Spartan IIIs now, and also Spartan IVs." Heck in those books, pretty much every time Master Chief went toe to toe with an Elite he had his life saved by marines who took advantage of the Elite being distracted. Now though, reprints of Fall of Reach exclude the notion that the UNSC had never had a reported case of Elites on the battlefield pre-2552, since they've now been seen, and made a joke of as early as the beginning of the war in 2525. Now I think it's more safe to say that an Elite has the potential to be every bit an equal to a Spartan. But only the particularly experienced and skilled ones, like Zealot level. It's no longer a case of your "everyday Elite" being equal to the "everyday Spartan" like it used to be. But I think we're still in a place where the best-of-the-best of Elites could tango with Master Chief.

It's also said that in the scene he appears in, holographic magnification is used so that he appeared to be thirty meters above the crowd, and image replication was used to make his face appear in 4 directions simultaneously to the crowd. I'll rip the quote straight out the book.
'In the center of the oration chamber aboard the super-carrier Sublime Transcendence, Xytan's image was holographi-cally magnified so he towered thirty meters before them, and image replications made his face present in four directions simultaneously to the crowd.'
I'm just saying, his massive height seems unlikely and the evidence supports the theory that his physical attributes were altered during his appearance.
Thanos: Spartan equivalents?
It would be a shame, if I just... snapped my fingers...
I think the Silent Shadow from the Headhunters short story are also kinda like a spartan equivalents
When I was a kid thought elite was the covenant's Spartan
Same
Me 2 Lmao
Nah master chief can shit on the entire halo universe because he has “luck” (plot armor)
The most ferociuos enemy the galaxy could have faced would be:
1) Flood in its keymind form
2) Didact with his composer and multiple human colonies composed
3) Xytan Jar Wattinree with his entire armada of 1 super carrier, 52 carriers and thousands of bombers and cruiser
Nothing can kill the legendary spartan elite.
Master chief: walks in badass intro music
I think it was one of the old game manuals that said a spartan was basically the equivalent to a red elite. I liked that, it helped solidify just how desperate the war was. Those guys were everywhere, meanwhile we had 30-something Spartans total and just lost our second most important planet. The war felt unwinnable, which heightened the tensions in the game all the further. Splitting the elites from the covenant was now a huge moment because this race of basically Spartans was now on our side, and eventually we barely win together.
How many Spartans do you need ?
Human:
Covenant:
The Flood: Yes !!!
"And could easily tear apart a spartan II"
*Master chief laughs in background*
Xytan could easily kill chief lol...
The brute and elite that almost killed him think otherwise, specially the elite.
@@dragonleo_ and jerome is smaller than chief and was slinging brutes like childs play. Halo follower is disinformation for most lore, pleb
Again jerome threw around brutes and elites and the one where chief almost broke his wrists apparently with an elite was in halo the flood which is even more bogus tier since it's literally just a retelling of halo 1. All good books regardless. But canon? Not so much since halo reach.
“Could easily rip apart a spartan 2”
John 117 ripped apart the entire covenant armada lmao
No, the flood did.
Makes sense, because of Covenant technology is just reversed-engineered Forerunner tech.
Well uh.
Have y’all ever seen the covenant on Arcadia on halo wars 1?
What if the elite that killed kat, Emile, and the one that we see at the end of reach with the energy sword and the one who destroyed the nova bomb trigger is really the Arbiter. Just a fun fan theory that I believe.
"...can easily tear apart a spartan 2"

Err0r 4o4 Xytan could easily kill chief lol...
Tander K Doubt beyond chief has luck and well did have cortana yes it would be a definite fought challenge but chiefs abilities would just see through
@@flyingthrills4440 I don't think so. Even the Arbiter would have steered clear of Xytan. And the Arbiter and Chief were considered equals as far as Bungie was concerned. That's what the phrase "Were it so easy" meant, that they would both struggle to kill one another, and the fight would be even.
"Could easily tear a spartan 2"

No their talking about how everything IS a super soldier in the end in the covenant
UNSC: You guys have Spartans of your own?
Covenant: Yes, but actually no.
There exists no doubt as to why the armor of choice for me in h5 is Hellcat. Ancient Humanity all the way.

Facts
I really love how Halo developers managed to make the plot armor most main characters have to seem actually legit on Master Chief's case, the team who was responsible with his kidnapping not only tested his mental and physical abilities but also his LUCK, in order to make sure he will get through most situations even if there is no logical way he should be able to put out all the epic shit he did.
@@NotTakenPls Uh its not luck its the sheer badassness that comprises his very being.
In the 8th Spartan Ops episode where The Shangheli Gek fought and overpowered Thorne who was an armored Spartan 4, it was revealed the Gek killed many Spartans in the pass according to Paul Demarco. Paul confirmed this when he retrieved the many dogtags that Gek kept as trophies. Even though the majority of Spartan 4s aren't as Legendary as the previous Spartan generations it's still impressive that one Shangheli took out many Highly Trained Super Soldiers single handedly.
Wouldn’t the Silent Shadow be the equivalent of Spartans?
It's the equivalent of Spartan Headhunters, not Spartans as a whole
Peter Clark they would be equivalent to spartan 3’s without mjolnir armor. But with spi armor
Master Chief is so lucky that he survived Halo 3 and made it to Halo Infinite
The halo 5 goblin was able to beat spartan IV but they are not real Spartans, the legendary Sargent Major Johnson was more of a Spartan than than the bottom shelf IV could ever aspire to be
Sergeant was a Spartan-1

"The Spartan program was justified because of the elites."
Except they were made before the Covenant was even discovered. Spartans were made to fight insurrectionists. Granted, the Spartan program saved humanity, but when it was first created it was far from justified.
Chris Lambert literally just finish watching the video, my guy. He says that exact same thing.
Justified =/= the reason for creation. It was the justification, but not the cause.

Kill master chief, the big question is can they kill noble 6

Honestly the prelates are accually a great enemy to encounter with fair problems and allowing you to battle how you like, if you want to win the easy way make the battle longer making the prelates open up to more critical attacks allowing a somewhat calm way to kil them...
Yeah chief can take that big elite because he more than super soldier when the forerunner evolved him in halo 😇 4 he probably 6 times stronger than a regular spartan
Maria Olivares yet by 343 lore he almost lost a fist fight to Locke 😂 343 lore is a joke
Chief didn't want to hurt him
We never knew what the all the enhancements entailed. We only know one of them and that is an immunity to being composed.
Soren Hayes He wasn’t even using maximum effort if he would have been he would have killed Locke like the 4 ODST’s he killed in a fist fight shortly after he was augmented and without armor. He knows the difference between wasted and spent and knew that killing Locke would be a waste.
Elite Zealot combat harness did offer enhanced abilities over all other standard harnesses including physical strength, camo, utilities, and shields

We need a game based on the imperial admiral of his story getting his rank, getting screwed by the prophets and ending with the nuke, almost styled like the jedi knight games with third person, like a spin off style game for a wider story base

The feeling is mutual my friend
I like the Prelates, they are probably the closest things we have ro getting an idea about what the Ancient San Shyuum who went toe to toe against the Forerunners alongside Ancient Humanity would have been like.
On the topic of supersoldiers and Forerunners, if Imperial Admiral Wattinree ever did get genetically-enhanced by the Covenant, we could be looking at what could only be justly described as a Sangheili 3rd form Warrior-servant.
1:04 halo wars 2 also
It was pretty well established in the early books that the Elites were essentially a worthy and equal enemy for Spartans.
