There was actually no trick or repair here. Its over 10 minutes telling you to blow out an area that is sealed which is ridiculous. He then wrongfully tells you resetting will fix a hall sensor drift which is also completely wrong, and then he rolls you in to the final by just saying send it back to Sony or replace stick. This offers the world nothing outside of bad suggestions and a waste of time as the solutions offered will never work.
I can tell you why. When you do finally locate an actual brand new replacement stick, after replacing it, the controller develops the issue of sudden disconnection during gameplay, regardless of whether it's a wireless connection or USB. The error message even says it disconnected because "the stick module is improperly connected". They retail for 19.99 at any brick and mortar, but the sellers on Amazon or Ebay sell them anywhere from $40.00 - $80.00. One would assume these are scalpers scooping up retail stock, but they'd be mistaken. The ones selling brand new official Sony replacements are getting them wholesale, directly from Sony. Sony is intentionally misdirecting replacements from retail stores to independent sellers to give the impression there's a shortage as a result of scalp buying. In actuality, Sony is withholding them enmasse to mitigate what would be the very costly number of warranty claims as a result of the disconnection problem, waiting until the warranty period of one year expires from the date of the products peak selling point. Class action? I'm just asking questions.
About a week ago, I started to experience stick drift. The odd thing is that many are having the same stick drift with the left stick going to the left, and the sticks are all sold out. Coincidence? Who knows... I just can't believe Sony did not produce enough stick modules. It is why I bought the DualSense Edge in the first place, for this reason. I have 3 regular DualSense controllers, and each of them are fine, but the $200 Edge just so happens to be the one that breaks. I guess I'll be using my regular DualSense controllers for the time being...
Yeah I feel your pain - its annoying because one of the reasons the Edge was made, was to address stick drift problems that the normal ones used to get, but nooo, the same issues persist. And its so expensive to replace them. If you're under 1 year, Sony would repair or send you a new one for free though.
@@Boknier You can find em on the dualsense edges sitting in stock. Just buy one, switch the sticks, and return it. They have it in stock on other controllers, just want more money
I just did that little button reset held for 15 seconds as well reset the controller on the ps5. Loaded cod and no drift, as well in ps5 settings no drift when I tested. Ordered the cleaners you suggested. Thank you for your guidance! Saved my butt on 88 dollar analog replacements.
I had on both modules, one a lot more noticeable than the other. I did not have spare parts to play operation, so I started with the cleaning thing. And cleaning worked as far as i can tell. Thank you. 👍🏼
Sony Genius move - made controllers with shit thumbsticks, then sell 20$ repair modules for them and get shit load of cash. Better buy some hall effect controller instead of this repair modules every year.
Does anybody know if you can replace the modules with any other ones or doesn’t have to be only these ones that you buy from Sony for example if I get this controller can I replace the modules with third party ones like if I go out and buy Hall effect sticks from Amazon can I put them on the dual edge controller i’m not sure if other third-party ones would fit or work on this controller. I’m curious if anyone knows?
I bought this controller January 31 of this year and the stuck drift is so bad I can’t even use it. Tried to buy replacement stick modules and they don’t even sell them in Canada, can’t find them anywhere. Hope this reset helps.
I didn't realise they don't sell modules for it in Canada, even though they sell the edge itself. Can you buy somewhere that does international shipping maybe? But since you bought it this year, it should be under warranty still and sony should fix or replace it for you for free.
Just came here looking for a fix and it’s crazy everyone is having issues with the left stick. Tried all the steps and it’s obvious I need to replace the module, and of course, no one has them. I should’ve just stayed with Astro’s had had them for over a year with heavy usage before I had to replace the module. Unfortunately they didn’t have a controller for the ps5 at the time of my purchase. Never buying a Sony PlayStation controller again.
To show people what's possible...even if that means letting them know they can get it replaced by Sony for free, as long as it's within 1 year warranty
Covering the controllers from dust doesn't fix anything, I kept my two dualsense controllers in a drawer when not in use and both got stick drift around the same time since I swap between them when the battery dies so they each got equal use. I opened them up and sprayed electronic contact cleaner into the exposed stick modules and that fixed the drift for now. I imagine with an edge its even easier since you can pop the single stick out and open it up instead of having to open the entire controller.
Grandsons dualsense edge has stick drift now. I have 7-8 ps5 controllers & every single one has had stick drift. Then another 4-5 xbox series x controllers have had stick drift
Simple economics and greed really. If you make the supply scarcer whilst the demand increases, you can charge more for it. I see them sold at Amazon for $57. Almost the same price as a regular controller.
would be great if sony would actually SELL the stick modules. theyve been out of stock for months now and im not paying triple msrp for the thing from some scalper on ebay.
Is analog sticks intetchangable? My Edge keeps flashing white when i exchange the left analog to the right analog. Was doing it cause my right stick has stick drift. Have i done something wrong to cause white flashing of Edge? But if i put both bacl in orignal place it works..
Thats quite strange! They should definitely be interchangeable. If you have swapped them, can you try do a reset with a pin from the back of the controller after and see if it stops flashing?
could you solve it? I recently bought a dualsense edge but I have the same problem, I only get a white light flash, and I can't connect it to the PS5, I've already tried in several ways, I've tried connecting it to the PS5 with cable and nothing, I've reset it, I've tried via Bluetooth and nothing, could you please help me
in the 10 years of playing playstation I’ve never had a single problem with any normal ps4 or 5 controller even after throwing them at the walls a couple of times and yet the most expensive controller i’ve bought happens to be the only one to get stick drift and in the left one just like most are getting
Can't you just adjust the dead zone with the dualsense edge configuration itself? I mean in the PS5 settings I've seen i let's you change the dead zone for the controller and games in general. I hope too see your answer.
True, but I reckon a lot of people would be too lazy to do that every time, especially if they play it daily, but that definitely would be the better option 👌🏼

It's quite difficult to find the root cause of joystick problems tbh, and it could be easy to fix by just replacing the joystick with a new one like I've shown in the video (if you have the dualsense edge), but I know that would mean paying extra money just to fix it, but only if you've tried everything else and there's nothing online that states how to fix that specific problem unfortunately
