Yes a team is won by top 11 player's performance and Captain's decision is vital in winning of a team and Dhoni's decision on field has been so influential in the favour of Indian team that makes him a legendary Captain of all time.

Dhoni cont even make a team proper, all he had is Ganguly made team who won the world cup for us.
