PEMA or Parenthesis Exponents Multiplication Addition
-34 + 12 * [ -1/3] * 5. (Here I make the division multiplication by raising -3 to the -1st power. We keep the sign of the 3)
-34 + (12 * 5 * -1/3). (Here we do our multiplication)
-34 + -20 = -54. (we have two negative numbers so we add them together and keep the negative sign)
got it. thanks for an easy one. -54
Like the ones I can do in my head. -54. Fun!
I was taught PEMDAS the way you explained it - M or D and the A or S. But as you likely know there is a huge argument out there about it being strictly M then D then A then S.
$1 million.
(That's my answer for everything because I'm trying to channel a million dollars)
MANY GOT IT RIGHT!!!
Very good choice of content! También soy profesora de mate y me gusta el estilo de los vídeos, bastante parecido al mío actualmente.
Nothing lucky about this one. Your PEMDAS videos have been understood as far as I'm concerned.
-34-4•5=-34-20=-54
Why do you consistently say that people will fail to get the correct answer?
-54...took me 5 secs
-54 pemdas worked.

-54 ?
At the title card, my answer is 680, because of PEMDAS and left-to-right evaluation.
...At 2:37 -- Oh, I see what i did wrong, my brain slipped a gear and multiplied instead of adding. It's been a LONG night at work....
Is that .5
Or 5?? makes a big difference in the answer
-54 maybe
-54 easy.

Ha ha... Got it in 15 seconds and I'm stoned... Most people really are stup8d...
Jeez why do you insists on writing ANY equation using the The division sign so often, Your equation is something that would maybe perhaps could have been written down on napkin in a hurry in a pub. IN PROPER MATH in ANY level you should always use a fraction line when writing problems. IF you had done this this your so called problem would have been non ambiguous. You claim to be a math teacher, in lower grade. If you give your students a problem written this way you should be ashamed of your self
If you write the calculations with correct paranteses it is no problems for most of us. So it all turns out to write correct. It to much talking in the explaination. The same runs for most of your simliar videos.
No one's forcing you to watch.
