Wow! You filming on Magic Island makes me so miss Hawai’i. I loved going to this location just to chill and to watch the sunset. Hawai’i leaves its imprint on your heart if you have lived there. I lived there 9 years. Aloha and Mahalo for this discussion.

    Aloha Joanna,
People that move here a good number of people from the states, don’t get accustomed to the lifestyle in Hawaii. Speed of life is slower than California, the type of foods people eat here are different. Mexican food is not a big part of eating in Hawaii. Local people here born and raised here see life differently than people in the United States. We have basically one season here. No snow, no Autumn, no spring, mostly sun, and rain, rain season. Lots of day activities, surf, diving, fishing, spearing, torching in the evening, picking limu etc. as we say here Easy Easy, take it at a pace. Don’t rush we not like the mainland, Aloha ke akua!!!!!!

A lot of people from various places ask you “what do you do for a living” as one of the first questions, it’s not just SF.

    • @christopherrowe5629
      @christopherrowe5629 2 місяці тому

Yeah I think normally other places I’ve lived it’s like where are you from, and then you get around to what you do , it’s not like it’s your whole identity, your job can change but you’re still the same person

I’ve spent a lot of time in New York City too and I’m sure people probably do it a lot there too but I normally just hang out with close friends and in family settings there so I didn’t really seem to experience it much there

I'm in Iowa. Been to Hawaii a lot. Friends there. Will b moving there in 2 years. I couldn't move there without social security and pension. People need to know it's expensive. It's small. It's a different lifestyle. But it has the best people ever! I love Asian people and culture. And Hawaii has the most beautiful women. 😊And I relate to you on the swimming; ala moana, ko olina and kailua beach are my favs. You're exactly right on people asking how are you instead of what do you do? Mainland is about title not lifestyle. Enjoy your vids. Thank you for sharing your life. Happy Aloha Friday!

I see so many people on here posting about quitting their job. I would be interested to know how you are able to survive financially especially living in Hawaii which is expensive cost of living wise. It gives people a wrong impression if your well off as not every can do it like you can. Does your business bring in enough to live on? Just want to get a clearer picture of how feasible it it for a random person. Alot of people only tell half the truth.

@qingli619 she worked in silicon valley. Made bank. I'm guessing had enough socked away to do what she wants. Asians are smart and frugal. She's not the norm.

Glad you can make it in Hawaii! I love SF and it’s my fav vacation spot for about 40 years, up until 8 years ago when my dad had cancer. I usually stay in a B&B in Richmond District, or Haight Ashberry (at the Red Victorian). I travel alone and catch the bus to get around. A friend from SF told me it has changed and I may not like it anymore. Welcome to Hawaii tho, enjoying your content!

Somehow the youtube algorithm brought up one of your videos...been watching a few of them. Pretty interesting. I was born and raised in Honolulu, but lived a few other places (including the bay area). Interesting to see Honolulu places in your videos. One tip: Get yourself a decent Certified Public Accountant... and ask him or her regarding forming your LLC then electing S-corporation treatment for your business. May save on taxes. Good luck with building your businesses. I'll be watching your interesting videos about growing your businesses.

    Good Luck in your Entrepreneurship!
It is not easy, as for
    You have to keep on
Going everyday, making new videos, coming up with new ideas. You should still have
A base job for benefits. Now day benefits is the key to retirement. I just thought again putting my 2 cents. I just retired, less than a month.
    38yrs. I'm under 60yrs old
Company benefits is Awesome. Health Care & Pension. Young people only thinking of the big 💵 for now.
But what about later in life. Time goes very fast. So now les, go. People ask me if I'm not going to work after? I said no! I'm set till end of my times.
Wake up late, chat wit all the UA-camrs out there. No worries. Ok Nuff said! 😂 I can talk stories too! Keep on posting! 🤙

I have a real estate agent in mind who is very experienced in this area and has helped others make the transition. Feel free to send me an email if interested- hi@joannahopelai.com

I just want Y'all to know the workforce she is describing in The United States roughly only makes up 15% of the workforce in America. I mean congratulations to you but um Ms. Most people in The United States can't even land them a job paying them $1,200 a week and that is with a college degree. After really conducting further research though I did ultimately find out The United States is the country that pays the most but all of the companies that do pay the most in America I never heard of them before and didn't even know they existed, and I wonder why that is. Probably because they never advertise them ever it is always the amazon and Walmart's of the world🤔, they don't advertise no positions nor any company in America that is paying over $100,000 a year it is closed off only for the selective it is the private sector. So, congratulations to you but um yea that isn't the actual real workforce in America that many people work in.

Are you expecting the majority of folks that graduate from high school to make $60K right out the gate? Come on everybody knows you need to gain experience whether that’s through working, training, mentorships, internships and even when starting a business. It takes time but once you’ve paid your dues then $100K+ per year is simple. Hell I know plumbers, electricians, general contractors, teachers, real estate agents, coaches, policemen, nurses, resellers, bar owners, Starbucks managers, grocery store produce managers, barbers, personal trainers, accountants, car salesman, hotel managers, insurance salesman, landscapers, etc. that all make over six figures but it came with time, hard work, dedication and consistency. Sounds like you’re expecting some get rich quick nonsense. 😂😂😂

Great video!!! However, I vehemently disagree with you money does buy courage. I am a decorated U.S. Military veteran, 10 years U.S. Navy, and a former defense contractor for 5 years. I never did it for America. I did it for the love of money and money gave me a ton of courage. I spent time in Iraq and Afghanistan.
