This man is a f*cking genius! Lou Reed said Cale should be recognised as the Beethoven “or something” of his day and I completely agree, only Cale is better.

I had a dream two nights ago where I discovered John Cale was my uncle.
Many dreams don't come true, unfortunately.

I used to play this when my kids were toddlers, and my dear wife would chide me, saying it would scare them. Now they are in their 30s and of course are big Cale and Velvet fans.

The bugger is so goddamn magnetic it is scary. Ever heard anything that powerful from a guy that's alone at the piano?
    ...me neither.

Cale was a beast on stage back then. I was lucky to see him in the early eighties. Most memorable gig I've every been to. Totally insane.

God i love this guy, i wish people would realize how much he has done for music.. its sad that it has only 263 views

I'll never understand why people idolized so much Lou Reed which it may had some talent, but compared to Cale, even with producer or avantgarde musician... almost zero.
Oh well, Lou Reed is from USA and praise to write "the great rock'n roll american romance", meanwhile Cale is a Welsh... seems stupid, but hell, how many people I heard reject Cale's music and pick up a Lou reed record because "the guy's american, the other's not, don't know..." Bah!!!

I like them both and I agree that Cale is just magnificent and should be appreciated here in the US much more... if it came down to picking one over the other I'd be hard pressed
