Does the new ASP really make the receiver more sensitive (would be nice for FM digital modes) or does voice just sound better (artificially) than the FTM-3100?
Thank you so much for this review! But when are you going to share the upcoming Yaesu FTX-1F and the new or most important features on it? Otherwise keep up the good work Yeasu and John :)
As long as the 150R crossband repeats and easy to activate/deactivate, sounds good to me. Otherwise, I'll keep looking the used market for an 8800. Just need simple FM with crossband.
It seems odd that people would think that the "M" in "FTM" means digital. For relatively recent products, say the last fifteen or so years, "D" in the model has been a lot more indicative of a C4FM/digital. Literally "D" for Digital. This hasn't always been the case obviously, there are other models with "D" that are at least not C4FM, and there are models like the FT-991A that don't have a D in the model that can do C4FM.
Greetings customer, this is the video version and is a general recording of the audio version of the podcast. The episodes made for UA-cam have this specific feature built into them. - Admin Team
Greetings customer, Thank you for your question as to why these models do not have C4FM in them. Many customers still perfer analog as they do not have access to C4FM repeaters or this format is not available. - Admin Team
Greetings Customer, we have no plans to build a 100 watt dual band radio. If you have further comments you can always submit them at the Yaesu website under the Contact Us tab (www.yaesu.com) - Admin Team
Fantastic video, thank you. Looking forward to part 2 on the 150.
Thank you for comment and Part 2 was live today. - Admin Team
Great overview...nice to have a dual watch back on the market! And the 3165 is a great 2980 replacement!
Love the specialization of purpose for these new radios. Gives a buyer options to meet, and pay for, only those features they need or care about.
Thank you for comments and we understand some do not want certain features and choose basic radio for operation. - Admin Team
The ASP does help with weak signals. Got to test all three today.
Love the FTM-150Rasp. Great display and easy to read!

When the radio is FCC type accepted and closer to launch more details will be coming.
John, can any of those radios receive the air band?
Thank you for question and we would refer you to live video from today. FTM-150R asp will receive Air Band and UHF MIL band. - Admin Team
Nice! I Like these already!
Now I have to add more to my list first building my emcomm trailer build
This would be a great edition and please reach out to John Kruk if your trailer is going to be all Yaesu for an interview.
If you have these two single band 2M radios, can we expect a 440 version??
No plans for any UHF version of the radios.
Hope to see a Data ports on the back of all of them! 😎
Greetings Customer, please today's live episode as John discusses this feature on the FTM-150R asp. - Admin Team

It does require the need to hold two buttons down while turning on the radio.
Any of the three radios have SSB capability ?
Thank you for question with answer is that they are FM analog devices only. SSB option is in our FT-991A and soon to be released FTX-1F. - Admin Team
