Yes! Many unanswered questions. Will Bruce join the family in the family business? I feel he is getting bolder. Love all the San Gabriel Valley local scenes and the blending of West Coast with the Pacific Rim.
This is the most entertaining and brilliant TV show I have seen in years. Thrilling, moving, great character development, and a driving narrative that forces you to binge-watch: once I started, I could not stop until 2 am. Then I rewatched the entire series. FOUR TIMES. Now I just replay my favourite parts: the problem is that there are SO MANY of them! Breakout performances from Justin Chien and Sam Li, whose careers I will be following avidly from now on. And Michelle Yeoh is sublime, playing outrageously comedic moments straight in multiple laugh-out-loud scenes.
Was absolutely wonderful watching a show about my old hometown and the restaurants I used to visit. The SGV is so incredibly diverse. I feel very fortunate to have grown up there.
I loved the beginning holy shit it was good But when we got to the father part It threw me off very hard The mother looks like she was planning evil The dad gets shot by his own son(not even deadly ) and then the mother makes him suffer in the hospital And all he was tryna do was promote his son And then oh well they just wanted a normal life But mother goes on to be the leader of the triads with Charles And Bruce does what ever he does
I agree, I was kind of mystified why she was so hellbent on becoming the triad leader, but I think what finally justified the mom's actions to me was her speech to Bruce about how she sacrificed and suffered for years, giving up on her desires and dreams for her husband and for Bruce -- so now it's time to do what SHE wants to do for once. An immigrant mother scraping by and sacrificing what she wants to ensure the good of the family and her kid -- what could be more consistent with the Asian American experience?
Phil watching all his friends make it on Netflix and the big screen. While he spends all his time writing 10,000 word IG captions about himself and why he's not a loser.
honstly i'm happy for the show, its so good. but i'm tired of 'representation'. I feel like that is dismissive of how great talents are. don't need a psa
It brags about having an all Asian cast and writer room but then complain when other shows or movie casts mainly Caucasians….Imagine if a predominately “white” casted movie made a similar proclamation?
This series demonstrate why we must always be cautious of the chinese... even the most outwardly harmless chinese (like michelle yeoh's character) can turn out to be an important member of the mob....
no wonder Phil was gone for so long on his 'lunch break' 😆
We need a Season 2!!!! Netflix make this happen!!!
yes!

Haha well said
I watch Xing take out Blood Boot's killer at least once a day 🥷🏻👊🏻 🔥
Pretty bummed out that they both died in the first season
Netflix is notorious for starting good shows then abandoning them. I really hope it's not the case here because I'mma riot
Love it! Also great show. I can't believe I'm seeing an all-Asian cast finally in such a huge serial. Kudos to Philip for the great tours.

BEST SHOW ever made ON NETFLIX!!!! WHAT A GEM!!!
Was absolutely wonderful watching a show about my old hometown and the restaurants I used to visit. The SGV is so incredibly diverse. I feel very fortunate to have grown up there.
The Brother’s Sun is such a great show. So funny but dark. It’s filmed in my hood, San gabriel valley.
SUCH A GREAT SERIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SO SO SO KICK ASS, authentic, and genuine. Also, the food focus in every episode is so fun. I love it!
Justin, Sam and Michelle Yeoh are quite the terrific trio btw 👏🏽
So proud of these guys and awesome to see representation of SGV / 626!

Phil and Wes cameo at the 12 minute mark in episode 5 😂 Brothers Sun was so fun 😊
I love how Justin pronounced every Mandarin word correctly. Especially their last name “Sun”. It’s actually “Suan”.
A fun day for Philip at the office! My favourite part was the cute bags Kee Wah Bakery.

Justin Chien is so hot. i like his parted hairstyle here better than the slicked back look in the show.
Awesome show. Love it!
love the 626 representation. It is its own character on the show. let's go season 2!
This explains why there was so many movie production vehicle parked around the san gabriel valley.

The way Michelle Yeoh carried this movie as a supporting actor was amazing! We need 8 seasons of brother sun!
Love it!!!
oh also... the casting is stellar! hell yes!!!! so so so good! I mean Michelle Yeoh.
Loved the show. Season 2 please!
Justin Chien would have made a better Shang Chi. He looks more like he could be Tony Leung’s son to start!
I'm enjoying the show!
Justin is fine AF!
Loved all the inside ABC jokes/references ❤
Justin is so hot🔥
I'm team Crab AND Lobster. No one says you can't order BOTH!

Justin Chien is so hot!!! 🔥
As an Asian, I only don't have a drawer but also containers of packet sauces. lol
Grew up in the SGV when Monterey park only had a handful of Chinese restaurants
i hope there will be a season 2
Ok, OK, I know it's not cool to brag that my daughter worked on The Brothers Sun, but, hey, I'm her mother!
I'm still trying to get a Fall out Men T shirt!
Kee Wah Bakery in Monterey Park! 😍
Waiting for season 2 over here
mexicans also keep sauce packets for later but that is why I also ask food places not to give me sauce most of the time.
Ginger root (姜根) t-shirt!!!!!
let's talk about Phil's hair for a sec....
Wow Sam from smile squad has come so far!
let's goooooo!!!
bring it back
who's the 4th person at Newport?
Can’t believe there is not going to be a season 2! Why Netflix?!?! Why!!!! 😭😭😭
Good job 👍
Was philip in episode 5 when michelle was walking through the market??
I think only Justin Chien pronounced "sun" as surname correctly. Others pronounce it like the 🌞
Anyone know where that club scene was shot?
Sound Nightclub in Hollywood
Just realized Justin's polo is from akashi-kama! Wish they made them for women :(
❤
KeeWah on top!
What did you all end up doing with the leftovers???
Netflix, please free Matthias Helvar from Hellgate!
@1:12 WTF! gloves for lobsters? must be a comedic sketch.... never heard of anyone asking for them.... not a SGV native for sure... LoL
making me so hungies
