I might do alternate history of britain once I finish this series, which at the moment looks like it could be 15-20 episodes long. It definitely won't go to the renaissance era since i would need something like 40 episodes.
On the other hand, you could also consider the Ghibellines to be the bad guys, since they support the idea of a foreign emperor exercising his grip over Italy.
Samsid I think there are no bad guys in this series. Just two sides with different opinions. One who considers Italy should be ruled by the pope and one who considers Italy should be ruled by the Emperor

Do please make the "bad guys" (guelphs) win... It gets alittle boring with the same plot in literally every mapping video, defenders always win..
