- Update since my last video: About day 10 after chemo session #2 the cheek sloughing that I was feeling started to go away & my mouth skin returned to normal. I have not had a solid poop since my last chemo session. I am experiencing the “loose stool” side effect of the chemo meds. I have been able to continue working out and have put on about 5 pounds of muscle since starting chemo.
Hair update: I have had 100% success with the cold capping thus far. I still have my eyebrows & eyelashes. My lash lady said I still have new growth so we are still lashing. The hair on the rest of my body is still present but it has gotten finer & delayed growth. For example, I do not have to shave my armpit hair or leg hair as often right now.
Last night I did not sleep well. Apparently the Dexamethasone (steroid) that you have to take the day before, day of, and day after chemo can interrupt sleep patterns & also cause hot flashes. I definitely experienced the hot flash last night & woke up around midnight burning hot, but not sweating.
Today was chemo session #3 & I had to do my first iron infusion today as well b/c my iron is too low. I did the iron infusion, then Taxotere, then Cytoxan. The iron infusion made my urine a brownish color which is a normal side effect. After I got home from chemo I started feeling nauseous so I took a Zofran and this totally got me back to normal (thank you to whoever invented Zofran!!).
I decided to continue doing cold capping b/c I found out my husband was putting the caps on my head colder than recommended so today he did it at the correct temperature & it was much more bearable! I also used the frozen gloves & socks during chemo today to help combat neuropathy & sucked on ice to prevent mouth sores.
How many days do you go before shampooing your hair after chemo? (You said you were waiting until Sunday but I don’t know which day you shot the video.) thank you 💕
Great question! I would wait 3 days after chemo before shampooing my hair 🤗
A family member started this chemo regimen yesterday. She reacted badly, so they had to give her meds and slow the drip way down. She was there 9am-6pm. Praying 🙏
@@leighs3439 I am so sorry to hear that!! I will be praying for her 💕🙏🏻
May IAsk what supplements I were taking at this time ?
Ubiquinol, ginkgo biloba, folic acid supplement, biotin, Claritin…I think that’s it.
