That was a good deal. I graduated from Hinton in 93, and played against Travis in football. We didn’t stand a chance. Lol. Whether catching a pass (way higher than our 5’9 cornerbacks could get lol) in the back of the end zone, or dunking all over our best dunker in basketball, he was hard to handle. I lived as close to Peterstown, as I did Hinton, so I love seeing Peterstown do well. BTW, The James Monroe Mavericks are looking to finish this season undefeated lol.

@Vickrockon - Remember it like yesterday. DWat and I were both going for that $10 bill, as we were close to being crushed to death at the bottom of the pile. As we struggled to our feet, you were on that bill like white on rice. That blew our minds man, we just figured it was your post game beer money. Had a bad game that night, glad I redeemed myself there at the end. Cheers Hokies, TJack

I think it was in 91 or 92 Our long time coach (Stauffer) left Oakvale to coach Peterstown. We had a home game against them and won a huge upset game. Our tallest player was around 6'2, playing against Travis and Kelly. Great memories.

One stat you'll rarely ever see, and in fact, I think '95 VA Tech maybe the only example of this - winning a major post-season tournament with a seven-man rotation! Injuries coupled with a brutal schedule and yet they still won the NIT! With only two guys off the bench and with the always existing possibility of foul trouble! Incredible! Bill Foster's legacy was stamped with this coaching job and the guys he did have available showing the epitome of resiliency! Shawn Smith, Ace Custis, Damon Watlington and Shawn Good were brilliant throughout their five game march

I was a big fan of Ace and got his autograph on a 4x6 index card when I saw him on campus

I remember losing a $10 bill on the floor and DWAT picking up and giving it back to me and then we just hugged each other. It was so funny. What a Game and What a NIT Run! Go HOKIES!
