Block chain is decentralized, banks are centralized. Yes but we can use it for transferring data from one main server to another one securely. Where systems stores only signatures of other servers.

Block chain works towards decentralisation. Linking blockchain with centralisation is totally wrong! The ledger maintained in block chain is not centralised.
