I've gotten better over the years, a little faster. I've been sewing since 2007, I taught myself, watched videos, bought books. Where it is the slowest for me is the pattern "reproduction"-I redraw my pattern (for my size or others) on pattern paper, so I can keep the original. Printing out patterns helps it go faster. Then pattern placement takes time for me, I admit I'm a perfectionist, I try hard not to be!

Sometimes I have to take done over perfect!

I love the grey thread tip. We have rolling chairs downstairs and and non rolling chairs upstairs where we work on parachutes so the wheel doesn't accidentally run over the parachute.

LOL - I always wonder if people pay attention to the clock behind me. I thought about moving it so it won't appear, but at this point it's kind of a fun Easter egg for those that notice it.

Great video. Flat construction looks so much easier, is there a reason to do it in the round? Thanks

Sometimes with things like two pieces sleeves or when you're easing a sleeve cap, it can't be done properly flat. But for t-shirts, pajamas, etc flat construction works well.

Hello! Super random but I came from your website on how to alter clothes to make them fit as maternity wear. Could that be applied for a maternity robe as well or could I use a regular robe sample?

    • @Mellysews

It would depend on how much ease is in the robe pattern. mellysews.com/pattern-ease/

Where is your sewing machine table from? That is what I'm looking for. A table to set my machine into.

It's vintage, I got it secondhand on craigslist.
