I am saving my money to replace my old heat and air units. I been living in my house 23 years with the same heat and air system and I keep it clean out 3 times a year with my shop vacuum and cleaner evaporator coil and out condenser coil and I keep my outside AC unit covered up during winter time
This is not a correct price comparison because the video exclusively lists Trane air conditioners. There are lower priced and higher price ranges, based on the manufacturer.
I have complain for unit XR 17 my company have ordered 35 units for large Housing Compound, the maintenance crews have complained most of the units they have faced lost pumping its direct order from TRANE Company I would like to know how can I claim the Damaged Compressor not pumping after the start up
There is nothing wrong with the units. If you are having issues, most likely they were installed incorrectly. I would have a licensed HVAC contractor come out to your property and assess the situation. 99% of problems in this situation are from poor installation practices.
@@fireiceheatingandaircondit4363 I had a 7.2Kw unit installed. The air handler is wired off the air conditioner disconnect, instead of a separate breaker. They installed exactly as it was, and their electrician sign off on it. Would you have fixed this or left it for the homeowner to find out? I'm just curious if it's something I should demand the AC company fix or was it never their responsibility as part of the install.
Once they touch it, it becomes their responsibility to bring it up to code. Most jurisdictions require permits to be pulled and work be inspected. The Air Handler should be on it’s own dedicated circuit. We would have installed it correctly.
Each home has a unique solution based on many contributing factors as mentioned in the video. There are many different sizes and brands of AC’s. Some AC units themselves are half the initial cost of others. Trane is a higher quality unit than some brands and has a higher initial investment, but a lower cost to own longterm due to lower repair cost. AC units are pay now or pay later. As are the installing company. Shortcuts on installation will make it cheaper on the sale, but much more expensive to maintain and cause a shorter life span.
I recently got a quote to replace 4 ton AC condenser, evaporator coils, Plenum, pan, 16 SEER, single stage cooling. Replacing one small section of ductwork that leads to a bedroom to a larger size, where the current duct is currently smaller than the rest of the ducts. 80,000 BTU gas heater/furnace. 1900 square-foot home. $11,500. Carrier or Heil brand. Does that sound like a fair price?
The short version is regulation, supply chain shortages, raw material price hikes, high cost of labor to install one correctly. Just to name a few. Manufacturers have raised pricing 4 times in last 8 months with more planned for this year.
@@fireiceheatingandaircondit4363 Too expensive.....Too high a cost of a condenser change out. If it's a straight change out you have Freon, a drier, soldering the lines and recharging to specs. Pretty straight forward. Check the evaporator for its condition, and off you go. Not rocket science. How about just a compressor change out? How much for that?
New AC efficiencies take new evaporator coils to handle the higher efficiency. If you want a backyard mechanic to replace your ac, then find one. If you want a professional to do it right and do it legally, then feel free to contact a qualified contractor who will answer your phone call 24 hours a day all year long and who offers a real warranty and stands behind it.
It only covers the outdoor condensing unit and the indoor coil that would sit on top of a furnace. If you are talking about an air handling unit as the indoor portion, this video is not correct for that scenario.

This is a great video
Very helpful. Thanks so much.
I only have a heating system, around how much would be if the air ducts are already installed
Varies a great deal just like the video says. 5-10k
as an AC company, are you responsible for hooking up the electric to NEC specification or do you leave it the homeowner to fix afterwards?
When an AC is installed, the electrical is also done

What is the breakdown of the unit price and installation fee? Some 3 ton unit costs less than $2000.

I need to buy a ac unit I live in tx
Is installation included in the prices you quoted? If not, what's the estimated fee? Thanks!
All included
Is Estimate fee free?
Estimates for new equipment in our service area is free

Without knowing the difficulty of the installation, I would say yes.

Which Trane air conditioner has the highest reliability? I want to purchase the Trane model with the least problems. Thanks.
The XR16 is a solid choice. Not the most efficient, but a reliable machine
My question is why do air conditioners cost so much? On a smaller unit it just does not seem to be that much to them to justify the high price.

Thank you for providing ballpark numbers. People put off doing it for years because they fear it’s too expensive or too complicated.

An air conditioner is only cooling. A heat pump does both

It will not mess up your AC. Putting heat and humidity into the home will make the AC run longer.
