Cool Riders is a 1995 racing arcade game. It is a spiritual sequel to Sega's OutRunners. It has a similar premise to OutRunners, though rather than drive cars, the player rides bikes,it also uses digitized graphics.
I did a littlebit of research and found out that the H1-board has same soundchip as Sega Saturn, YMF-292. Why did Sega never ported this game to home systems?
There are two stages in New York: one involving lower Manhattan and Brooklyn (in the early stages) and one involving Queens and midtown Manhattan (in the extra stage). The middle route takes the player through all locations in the United States, plus one Canadian location (Niagara Falls, which is in Ontario). The location referred to as Canada in the game is actually interior British Columbia.
That beginning blurb about bikers not doing drugs isn't entirely accurate, because they do drink LOTS of beer, and they smoke cigarettes too. I like how those bikers say "cool it", just like Fonzie! He was the original biker after all.
This game looks nice! Say, do you know a horizontal shoot em up where some kids have to defeat corrupt government officials? And the last boss is also a lion! I've been trying to remember it, but i'm not having much luck. And you also covered the game, even putting the lore of it in the description. It also has tons of blue bullets.
Saw this today at cleethorpes, U.K. and can’t believe it’s still there after all these years. Probably the oldest game there running.
I went to Cleethorpes today and saw this game at an arcade too. I remember looking at it and going "huh, this reminds me a lot of Outrunners."
So basically this game is Outrunners, but with motorcycles? That's pretty cool, I was not aware of this game's existence until now :)

looks like a natural for the saturn. i know i'd play it
(Edit: I got the numbers wrong, it uses YMF-292, YMF-262 is an OPL sound chip)
