      @Jeremiah Philli Bagcal they are almost the same car. But I like the monster truck look so I would go Teton! Its probably the more popular one of the two. Both great little cars with lots of upgrades you can add to them. This is my review of the Latrax Prerunner if you want to watch and compare. ua-cam.com/video/BlRWl834paE/v-deo.html

    I just found your video. I think it's one of the best I've seen for evaluating these cars for kids. Thanks a lot.

    Try the RPM arms next time they generally stronger but still flex when hit unlike aluminum.

    I spray my Teton down with meguiars aerosol tire shine. It softens the plastics and I haven’t broken a control arm since. I broke a steering servo and have the metal gear replacement kit. Glued the tires to the wheels and it greatly improved traction but now my motor gets hot a lot easier. If I run it on race mode I get 5-10 min in grass then it goes into limp mode. I also have the GTR shocks which make it handle a lot better. I preloaded the rear and get good weight transfer for cornering.

      I will have to check out the meguiars aerosol tire shine. Sounds like a cheaper alternative to replacing them multiple times. I actual just got some tire glue because the tires kept coming off the rim in another video we were doing. I will check out the GTR shocks. Thanks for watching and all the great tips!

    I inverted the shocks and swapped to venom 2000 20c 2 cell lipo batteries. Years of bashing with no failures (yet). I use the same batteries in my 1/16 4x4 slash.

    I've had this car for 3 years i think and i don't regret buying it because it's been working pretty well, decent speed, and cool looking ofc! Only things that i had to buy are alumin driveshafts when they cut (they broke really easily because they are made out of plastic) and a new motor, but i haven't installed it yet

      That's one of the great things about this RC car is it lasts! The stock driveshafts that came on ours are aluminum and the only issue we have had is rocks jam under it but were easily cleaned out. It is a fun car! Thanks for the comment!

    New sub, I recommend the hot racing steel axles and spur gear if you haven't already. I have a few of these that are quite modified.

    Hello brother good video. But with all the upgrades you need to do, I was looking for one for the wifey,. But with all the reviews I'm considering the slash . Which one should I get. Ps I don't know if shes going to like.the Hobbie aswell and maybe she will just don't want to disappoint her from the beginning. Ty for your response

    • @JKOutdoorAdventures

      With the price of the upgrades I agree it is better to go with a 1/10th size. I would go rustler or stampede. Both the same price and cheaper than the slash. The 2wd slash also does not do well in loose dirt or sand compared with the bigger tires of the stampede and rustler. However the slash handles better on the road. Stampede rolls pretty easy on the road but is way fun. Check out my review on the stampede it is pretty fun. ua-cam.com/video/JHvhALaeN70/v-deo.html Thanks for watching and commenting!

    Try the old timers trick for weak a arms.... put them in a pot of boiling water! Not directly of course.

    I have heard on these models they've had problems with the ESC And motors going out have you had this problem? Ty

    • @JKOutdoorAdventures
      @JKOutdoorAdventures  3 роки тому +1

      I own two Tetons and 1 Prerunner which is basically almost the same. I have not lost a motor but I have had dirt get in and completely stop it 2 or 3 times. Usually happens when we play on the base ball field or sand. My kids know enough NOT to keep holding down the accelerator when it jams so it does not burn up and its a simple fix. Take the cover off, blow it out, or work the debris out by spinning the motor spindle by hand adding a drop of oil until it moves freely. Now the only problem I have had with the ESC is the light that indicates whether it is on or off periodically stops working on the prerunner. Kinda weird but the car still works so not a big deal. But like you said in the other post spend a little more up front and by a 1/10th scale stampede or rustler. I have had very little issues with my 1/10th scales. Thanks for watching and commenting!

      @@JKOutdoorAdventures thanks for your opinion I appreciate it very much. 😎 . Thanks we will look at 1/10 scale and see which one she likes.... 👍

    I Bought this car but whenever i drived it in alot of snow the i heard some quiet clicking noises does it have to do something with the motor and the gear where the motor spins?

    • @JKOutdoorAdventures
      @JKOutdoorAdventures  3 роки тому

      If it is making the noise while turning in the snow it is probaly the steering servo. The teeth on the small plastic gears break off and the clicking starts because of the new gap. I have never had any clicking from the engine motor. I do sometimes get whinning, but oil/ grease fixes that. You could check the gears on the motor and transfer case but they are metal and I have not broken a tooth on them yet. Open it up and see if you got a rock or sand in there. Spray it out with air. I have got a rock stuck in there before an had to clean it out for the motor to spin again. Let me know what you find out. I would be interested to hear and thanks for watching!

      @@JKOutdoorAdventures But whenever i start driving it makes the noise and it gets slower

    • @JKOutdoorAdventures
      @JKOutdoorAdventures  3 роки тому

      @@lildaunas5000 could be the motor. Take it out, spin it with your fingers and see if it has any unusal resistance or grinding. Spray it out with air, put a drop of oil at the base of the spindle and spin it to make it go into the motor. I would also check the connecting gear box area for anything. Might also see if you got something stuck along the drive shaft.

    I have one and I abused it and nothing broke except the servo clicking

    • @JKOutdoorAdventures
      @JKOutdoorAdventures  3 роки тому

      The clicking is one or more of the teeth on the gears in the steering servo is missing. That's how it started with ours until it stopped working completely. My kids are around 8 years old and are terrible drivers. They tend to crash it full speed into everything. The suspension arms take the brunt of the collision. It is a fun little monster truck! Thanks for watching!

    I have this and i was pretty disappointed with it .I much prefer my SG 1601 brushless rc. Not only faster ,stronger but also cheaper.

    • @JKOutdoorAdventures
      @JKOutdoorAdventures  3 роки тому

      I would have to agree that the Teton definitely has some flaws. Other then a quick google, I am not really familiar with the SG 1601 brushless RC car. I personally buy Traxxas because I am familiar with the brand and have owned one for several years. But I am glad you found something you are happy with, because that's all that really matters when getting into a hobby! Thanks for watching and commenting!
