Just a quick little vid this time. I had some terrible winds for a while so I just went inland for an explore and I wasn't disappointed with the speculator scenery and scraped together a feed of Redclaw too
@@mialily206 I had vertigo for 2 weeks not too long ago. I damaged my ear, next minute the whole world was spinning and had to sit down before I fell. lasted 14 days before it got any better. I was literally crawling around in my house...
Thanks again GIDO for sharing these great places, your footage from the drone is something to see. Good fishing and safe travels to you and yours from me and mine. 🎣🐟🎥💯👍💪🏽
As a kid growing up in Hawaii we would catch crayfish like that all the time. We also had fresh water shrimp that we would catch in the exact same way in the mountain streams at night. The light from the flash light makes them stop moving. Great video Gido. Glad to see you uploading again.
Now that was something different indeed...my first introduction to redclaw was around Kunnunarra...bit of a change up to marroning down south I can tell ya...the less chance of crocs, freshwater or otherwise to try catch any feed of crustacea suits me just fine...nice mix up mate...what great country...cheers 😁👍👍
Spectacular footage from your drone Gido! Always stoked to see you’ve uploaded another video, that last one you had over an hour was so awesome too!!! 🤙🏽 🤙🏽
Thanks, Gido, a nice diversion from a normal day’s fishing ... fantastic scenery & fresh redclaw ... I hope there’s more video of your inland adventure.
Hey Guido just want to give you some props for your aerials mate. Really good composition, movement, exposure and grade. They are coming along so much since I started watching your channel many moons ago. As a commercial operator and die hard fisho I get a bit whingy seeing so many very ordinary aerials in epic places used in UA-cam vids but yours are now always really well put together and cut into the edit. Really got your eye in and head into how gimbal moves and drone need to work together to be cinematic and grand. Thanks for that!
To catch yabbies we tie a bit of bait or meat to string on end of a stick then dangle it in water and when they grab it we simply pull them out. Some people use a bit of stocking so their claws get tangled in it.
Mate, you’re the only reason my autistic ass got into fishing. Been doing it for 6 months now and haven’t played computer since, fishing daily. Dropped 35kg. Got a boat, learnt I get seasick 😂 Lots of beach fishing And rock fishing. So thanks, been a ride. About to do a ropes course next month.
Hey Harry, good to hear your enjoying getting outdoors more. I do ikijime my fish but if I show it on UA-cam some people get upset unfortunately. Bit of a shame some people don’t like the real world I think
@@gidosfishingadventures ah awesome stuff, yea seems not many people know about the nerve tightening wire after the spike. Outside of tuna fisherman Prevention of rigor mortis makes the fish taste that much better
Did you get to see any Freshies in that river? I got to see a bunch of them on a trip up there once. Amazing animals. Glad you included the bobook owl. I used to hear them once in a while in NSW. Always good to see the Southern Hemisphere night sky!
Congrats to you Gido, on a different aspect from the south coast. The ol' Redclaw do need a bit of salt though, don't you think? Well done. Was that the Fortescue?
Hey Gido! I love your videos. I'm currently on a gido-inspired fishing trip down and up the WA coast line but it's been majorly disrupted by bad weather and car trouble.
Redclaw is perfect fried with garlic and chilli. Remove the tail section. Grab the middle tail swim fin and twist and pull. It will pull the shit tube out in one. Cut the tail in half and fry up with the farlic and chilli. I cooked a redclw pasta dish using the Masterfoods garlic and redwine marinade that was a hit.
In the state’s we call them crawdads , when I was a kid we would fill kid pools full with them. Eat them all night dipped in melted garlic butter! When ever you want a adventure side kick I’m your man 🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻😎
Hey gido awsome footage I'm from Victoria anychance u could tell me how to get to this place would love to come up for a holiday camp out would be muchly appreciated 😀
I’ll keep it in mind. Not north anymore. Spent some time exploring inland but generally not fishing or catching anything. Probably put some photos up on IG. But no more vids from it this time
We have the Red Signal Crayfish here in the UK that are also invasive that have spread throughout most of the UK. They're also great eating some people are using a Swedish Crayfish Traps these are fairly cheap but great at catching them. Before you cook them the middle part of the tail if you twist that carefully and pull it that should remove the p**p track.
Yo Gido Grab yourself a Silky Saw. Japanese folding pull saw. They are magic. They are all called boy. I recommend a Gomboy. They are great for cutting branches. So easy. Hey Silky sort Gido out Pete
Now this is interesting I was certain Red Claw was native to QLD and not Western Australia. Can someone enlighten me to this because I would have thought it was a misdemeanor to introduce a species from elsewhere. Not pointing the finger at all Gido ,just to be clear

Cars and weather, they can be a nuisance aye. Hope the car comes good and the weather gives you a break
Great footage again, probably not far north enough to have croks in the river ;)
Yeh not far enough north. Where redclaw are native to would have crocs in the river thou

Smooth river rocks tend to have high moisture content and can explode when used to encircle a camp fire.
I know this first hand.
great little video gido, any plans heading up north to do some Barra fishing
Yeh I’d love to. Probably fly up further north sometime. Check out some rivers near the WA NT border 🤷🏽

Nice refreshing change Gido ,did you bother with the claw I only ask cos you said they were soft, looking forward too some Kings an Gt's ?
I tried one or 2 but they were pretty small
any tailor up there Gido i know you are usually to far south for them i have never caught one but heard they put up a good fight
This is too far north for them. I’ve caught some big tailor down south. My best being 60 or 70cm but not often
Nice change my man!
Jeez mate, those sticks for ya fire when you dropped them they sounded so brittle and dry.
Yeh struggled to find any good solid timber there. Nice and try but burnt so quickly
