I use this trick. Permissive: P = Parent is a Pal. AuthoritatIVE: I have voice, AuthoratiaN : N equals No It may help others, feel free to use it:)

Good evening! I passed my exam today!!! This was my 3rd attempt and there has been years since the last two times I had taken the exam! This time, I had the prayers of my family of God and I woke up, went through my day, listened at night, all through the night listening to RayTube ever since someone clued me into you! You are so easy to understand, explanations were memorable and made since, and every video was filled with information that mos def helped me! I missed study groups and was a bit upset but I did get through so many videos! I still hear you saying “read the code of ethics!” I did, several times! Thank you so much for what you do! Keep making a difference in the lives of us social workers! I will be continuing for my next exam next year!!

I think of Permissive style of parenting as permitting the child do whatever they want. (no boundaries)

Your video helped guide me with figuring out ways to distinguish the two A's. Thank you!
auThoriTaTive= Tending To Talk (3 T's); authoritariaN= Not allowed or No; Permissive= Permit (to allow=no structure or boundaries)

I’m not studying for anything. But, I found your video helpful as a parent. It popped up in my suggested videos. Thanks!

Ooooo I love this topic! I took adolescent psych spring semester and we talked a lot about this. This is how I found out what parenting style I use (authoritative). I came from an abusive household so I promised myself to be the parent that I wished I had. It made me proud to learn that what I was doing as a parent was effective. I see it everyday by just seeing how my child acts with me and others. But learning this made me go, "wow, I did it"
I'm so happy I found your channel. I'm currently a BSW student "class of 2024" and I was curious to see what kinds of questions were going to be on the test when I go for my MSW. I'm definitely going to study with your videos when that time comes 😊

I think of authoritarian as rhyming with Barbarian - that helps me

My little note to help differentiate between to two A’s-
AuthoriTATIVE : talkATIVE :: Authoritarian : aquaRIAM or TERRARIUM (rigid, boxed in, don’t know why closed in)

What is your focus in social services? I fell in love with elders afflicted with cognitive impairment. Having served as Director of Social Services at a long term care facility, I now want to serve in the capacity of protection. I’ve seen HORRIFFIC things, reported and complained….ultimately my position was eliminated and written into the job description of the Executive Director (to further hide the truth). I want to stimulate change by bringing attention to nursing home abuse and neglect. Families have a false sense of safety in 5-Star facilities and I want to hold these organizations accountable. Do you suggest a career path? I have 4 more classes until my Masters is complete. Thanks in advance

*****I do not trust Adult Protective Services here due to how investigations were handled in my previous facility. Many of the investigators were ‘friends’ with the Executive Director. I read one of the reports and he flat out lied about the situation and the residents continued to receive subpar care at over 7k a month😮

Hey, Bella! I decided to go the clinical route and currently work in my private practice to provide Individual therapy. I suggest you explore what interest you the most and contact people currently doing what you want to be doing so you can pick their brains to get more insight into that role. I believe that would be very beneficial. Hope this helps!
