For some reason when i'm in windows using the disc the folders don't sync with linux, i see for ex two Movies folder ....very strange behavior. Any idea why?

lsusb doesn't show the devices, should I reboot beforehand?

no, this does not wipe the data, it merely allows the VM to access that disk.

So the video of how to pass through a physical disk shows you how to pass through a USB device ... thumbs down dude! Rename the video to "how to pass through an external hard drive" - then it'd be accurate at least.
