I found a modpack recently that after 30 hours and some messing with the bees mod I gave up. Although I may go back to it with a big group. Time to spread the pain. How long will this one take? 60+ hours over 5 people. 300 hours playtime here we gooooo

Building an electric generator would be easier, less of a hassle, and longer lasting. Magnets, copper and bit of artistry is all you need for it. Not to mention if you have a time machine, why would you need another power source? Something able to bend the fabric of time would have a pretty decent power source, just needs a usb port. 🤷♂️
That's why you save instructions on how to make stuff. Modern phones can hold hundreds of GB, a few screenshots or a PDF on how to make a hydro generator or improvised firearm or whatever aren't a bad idea to have saved, just in case the world goes to shit.

Making 50 of these chemical batteries to charge one cellphone seems grossly inefficient. It might be easier to make a small generator and hire peasants to turn it to charge the phone.
There are a few companies that make powerbanks that can be hand cranked to charge. Take one with you. :-) It would take a while to charge such a powerbank enough to charge a phone, but it beats traveling throughout the US on a quest to round up the materials to make a battery. :-)

A foot cranked motor would be fine. Ideally you should bring back a phone that isn't back-lit so it's battery will last much longer
