Great idea. Let's throw the inexperienced kid into the Fire against arguably one of the best defenses in college football in the last quarter century. Iowa defense only hits the QB on 46% of passing plays. What could go wrong? 😂
I think this is certainly the safest kind of game for him to play from such a TN offensive advantage point as Iowa, is very very very bad offensively. If Nico can score against this defense, he can score against any. The defense is better than Bama and UGA's. It will take both QB's and probably the long ball to score on this team. A 14, 17-0 win here would not be frowned upon and Michigan needed 4 quarters to put them away. If we can tire them out through the air with tempo, I'm sure we could score the most points on them than anyone else.
@@gwhite7136 That's a pretty Big "if". You do know that michigan was held to 120 yards passing and 66 yards rushing, right? Even with giving up 31 to PSU and 26 to Michigan, Iowa defense only allows 13.23 points per game. If Tennessee is going to win this game, they will need a short field, meaning great punt returning and defensive turnovers in Iowa territory. Without one of those, Tennessee won't win.
@@leroywatermelon4025 It's an unusual foe in the regard that usually teams with defenses this good, don't have offenses this bad. So, pretty a slow process if your not lighting up the scoreboard against them. This will involve more passing than maybe we'd prefer. It is unkown how Iowa will react trying to prepare defensively for a style of offense, they've never seene. The Tempo Spread has been nowhere on their radar and so, preparation is more difficutl. I don't expect we'll rush for more htan 100 but we rushed for over 200 on A&M so if that's the case, I think we'll be moving the ball well. McCarthy is a good passer but MIchigan plays a very different offensive scheme than we do, so easier for them to prepare for that Michigan secondary. I think we'll run better on them than Michigan did and as far as passing, that will depend on the run, unless we just go freewilly to the wind and throw, pass, RPO tempo. If your ever going to do that free willy stuff, this would be the team to do it againt. It's not like this team is going to do much with a turnover. If they were in the SEC,, they'd be dead last at 16 points per game.. This offense is worse than Vandy imo. But the defense is very formidable.
Nicole not ready Yell don't know football. The offense is way complicated, he doesn't understand schematics yet. He doesn't need to get hurt. At least 10 more pounds of muscle. That boy is skin and bones. Let Joe go out with pride he earned it. He has played his best games the last 4. Those losses all ain't on Joe he not playing every position
@@terrancebrown7486 Um, no. He's been studying the playbook since he got here last January and in general out offense is one of the easiest to learn, the tempo spread. Plus, Nico has been playing in this style of spread since he was 8 years old. But, I agree, this isn't a defense he should play without Joe. Iowa is very physical and can do a variety of damage physically. Let Joe take some hits till we soften up their secondary and throw on them, tire them out than soften them up for RPO fast tempo. They haven't seen many fast offenses nor will be spread like us. I agree, let Joe get out there and build off a what can be a good ranked win over a team that is ranked ahead of us and the Big10's runner up.
Joe hasn’t earned a damn thing. He’s lucky we’re dumb enough to have taken him because nobody else would’ve. Take the damn bubble wrap off the kid that makes more money then you’ll ever see. Damn, stop treating Nico like he’s fragile goods. Joe needs to move the hell on
@@TaylaWhala apparently you haven't watched our program these past ten years. Heck these past 15 years. This is the best Qb room we have had since Dobbs. Joe needs this for his draft options. Nico gets hurt in that game on some fluke play where it will take him months to heal. Then what? We back to square one. I get Joe ain't Hendon nobody is. Let him cook save Nico for fall and spring camp. That way he at his best for next season. You never played football I see that. Nico will get hurt stop the shannigans bro
Congratulations and thank you Coach Hype 🧡
These are long (longer) days for our coaching staff. Thanks for all you do, especially Coach Heup! GBO 🧡🍊🧡🍊
Thanks coach and players for the his year GBO 🍊🍊🍊🍊
Thank you coach now go get Walter Nolen from the portal and get him to Tennessee!
Nolan was never and will never come here to UT. He was never a UT fan. He ultimately used us as leverage to get what he got at A&M. Facts
Nolan was a punk in recruiting process idk if he’s changed
GBO good job and great bowl selection. ML&R TNJR
Let Nico play the whole game. He needs to the experience and the fans wants to see him.
Zero percent chance that happens. If Joe wants to play, he is playing... this is his offense and he has a chance to play in front of family again.
