- Der Königgrätzer Marsch (Armeemarsch II, 134; Armeemarsch II, 195) ist ein deutscher Militärmarsch.
Der preußische Militärmusiker Gottfried Piefke komponierte nach dem Sieg der preußischen Truppen über die Österreicher in der Schlacht bei Königgrätz am 3. Juli 1866 den Königgrätzer Marsch. Dieser Sieg ebnete den Weg zur Vorherrschaft Preußens im Deutschen Bund und damit letztlich auch zur kleindeutschen Lösung mit Gründung des deutschen Kaiserreiches 1871.
Die erste Niederschrift des Marsches soll Piefke noch auf dem Schlachtfeld selbst angefertigt haben. Der Sechs-Achtel-Marsch beschreibt in zwei Motiven zunächst das unentschiedene Gefecht zwischen dem ersten preußischen Kontingent und den Österreichern, das zweite Motiv steht für das entscheidende Eintreffen preußischer Verstärkung. Als Trio für den Königgrätzer Marsch verwendete Piefke den Hohenfriedberger Marsch, wohl um an die Siege Friedrichs II. über die Österreicher zu erinnern. Ergänzend dazu schuf Piefke den „Königgrätzer mit anderem Trio“ (Heeresmarsch IIIB, 67); diese zweite Fassung ist heute kaum noch bekannt.
Der Königgrätzer Marsch war der Regimentsmarsch des Oldenburgischen Infanterie-Regiments Nr. 91.
Der Königgrätzer Marsch gehört heute zu den bedeutendsten und bekanntesten deutschen Militärmärschen und wird häufig bei offiziellen Anlässen gespielt, in Österreich hingegen ist er aus naheliegenden Gründen bis heute sehr selten zu hören.

Unglaubliches Stück. Wie sehr habe ich es geliebt diesen Marsch als Kind im Spielmannszug Schirnding zu spielen. Da musste ich beim Spielen wirklich immer aufpassen keine Glückstränen vor Freude über diese Komposition zu vergießen.

I will always remember the first time that I heard this song, I was a child, it was in Indian Jones and the Last Crusade when Indy is in Berlin with his father, grabbing the diary from Dr. Schneider and there's the infamous book burning going on in the background. Then, low and behold, many years later they have it for the German victory music when playing COD: World at War multiplayer. Good times!

@@martinstein4382 Ich habe gegoogelt und zu meiner eigenen Überraschung festgestellt, dass er tatsächlich sich um das ein und andere Mal selbst mit einbrachte, um die Interessen Preußens zu vertreten. Siehe Wikipedia: 1814 an der Seite seines Vaters Friedrich Wilhelm dem III. gegen Frankreich. 1866 im Krieg Preußens gegen Österreich als Oberbefehlshaber.
Also hat er ähnlich wie Friedrich der Große Preußens Gloria weiter vollendet.

So weit ich weiß, war Friedrich Wilhelm der III der Sohn von Wilhelm den I von Preußen.
Auch der 99 Tage Kaiser genannt, da er an Kehlkopfkrebs gestorben ist. Wilhelm der II war der Neffe von Wilhelm den I. von Preußen.

Nobody is removing German marches. There are 10 versions of this piece, Deutschlandlied, Panzerlied, Englandlied. You can even listen to Horst Wessel Lied, although I don't know why you would considering it's garbage.
