Amazing video, I've been in love with this show since I was like 5 years old. I wish I could express how much I love this show, I've had to have seen it at least 50 times. Its a shame it doesn't exist in the US anymore. It's amazing to see the behind the scenes of it. Thank you so much for posting this.
Just randomly had the thought to look this up, i've always wanted to see the view of the cars that come through the building at the end. I always wanted to know how the hero car got into position so quickly, now I know. Thanks for this, it's always cool to get a peek behind the curtain.
Now that was awesome! Do you know what happened to the cars after this attraction closed? I hope they kept them and put them in some sort of museum in the park. These cars were definitely one of a kind, same goes for the attraction itself.
that is some impressive driving there to be able to precisely drift with other cars and people next to you man you got mad respect from me shame they killed the show for some scifi stuff
I wish there was an eye tracker attached to these drivers at some point, just so you could see how fast their focus switches and where they're looking through the entire routine. Would be sick to see.
I would think it would be fast as well. We had marks and reference points for every trick. But we would also be scanning other car’s proximity to your own.
@@31Jammy You can definitely go into a little bit of auto-pilot. We would get scheduled to drive different positions everyday and this helped kept us on our toes.
I miss this show so bad but I’m going to Disney land Paris to see this thrills again and my friend was Dave the red car driver and I still have that hat (stunt crew hat ) that he gave me
He still does the motorcycle sequence, but he begins without a helmet and presumably the helmet he puts on for it is a different one than what had the camera.
@@chitoryu12 It's actually a different guy doing the motorcycle sequence. Watch closer to the end, after the jump during Finale. When he drives back out, there's another guy in an identical costume on the Hero bike
The only sequence in the motorcycle chase that the hero driver is in is the beginning, when he's chased by the two villain riders into the building, then it switches to the hero rider (who is a different hero driver, just like the switch in the ballet chase between heroes) That's why at the end of the motorcycle chase the stuntman askes for a round of applause for the hero rider. Because the hero rider is not the original driver that went into the building.
The red car was built specifically for the show, they never made an Opel “Coupé” road car. The closest equivalent is an Opel Astra VXR from this era but if you look they aren’t the same. The black cars are indeed Opel Corsas but they have been heavily modified with a mid mounted Suzuki bike engine, sequential box with multiple reverse gears and rear wheel drive.
@@LordTwaddle the trans is the masterpiece in these cars imagineers built them id really love to see one i have searched for info on them for years only a handful of videos have ever talked about them but in recent years disney has figured out that selling old props and parts isnt nearly as profitable as if they hold onto things for 25ish years and then bring them back as displays or easter eggs in other attractions and the more technical things like the trans will never be sold unless an employee gets one out somehow
@@anthonycope8637 honestly I would be happy with just the body shell and chassis then build it up myself with something like an ecoboost rally drivetrain.
@@anthonycope8637 there is one video from this channel where they have a little display on the corsa's shift pattern, and from that I think it might keep the moto gearbox and add a cable activated in-line reverse box
I hope they bring back something like this (they probably won’t because everything now is so high-tech based and is filled with IPs) but a man can dream😕
@@GellertTV Judging from the view during the drivers interview around 2:30, I suspect it's on the front of the helmet, about level with his mouth. Classic motorcycle cam. :)
Gotta love how star wars had to ruin this clearly loved attraction just so people who can’t grow up and get away from crap wars can go see that boring crap.

Same! I've been in love with this show for as long as I can remember. It's what got me into filmmaking.

It sure is fascinating,i adore it!
I would love to hear intercom/radio chatter from this show.
Same here, this show is awesome
@@rollandtrann679 yes same here because I’m a fan of lights motors action especially when they have the herbie the love bug come on
The radio chatter was absolutely hilarious 99% of the time.😂. It helped lighten the pressure.

Just want to say you guys put on a great performance! Really enjoyed this show! If anybody knows David Cutler tell him that Jesse Kiefer says Hi!
Great vid, really great to see backstage, never seen that before, thanks a lot! Vous déchirez les gars! ;)
I wonder if you have any footage of you being the reverse hero on the last show? That would be cool
I like the way you were waving to the crowd of people in the grandstand
that's lovely camera footage on your helmet Jonathan

They were transferred to disneyland paris.
Some cars were shipped to Disneyland Paris but others was immediately scrapped.

Absolutely mesmerizing to watch the show from this perspective.
Anybody notice the air conditioning when he was parked it blows through the window, smart idea
There is no air conditioning that have a water vein system in their suits that keeps them cool
Yes
