My Dog Steals Chicken Eggs So I Did This

- I have a Great Pyrenees puppy. He's a great dog. But just like humans, dogs too can develop bad habits. Maverick has found out that he can steal eggs from the chicken coop when I'm not looking. But when I'm with him, he never even tries to enter the coop. So how can I teach him not to go into the coop if I can't catch him doing it? This video demonstrates my idea to keep him out of the coop when no one is around to see him.

Hey moofdogg. I wish I had some rain to send your way. It has been a long spell of drought for sure. On the tote front, I buy totes every time I visit Menards. My problem is not having any place to put the totes. I guess that’ll have to be another project. Great to hear from you brother! Take care!

Ingenuity at its finest, the trick is remembering which tote you put those things that “I might need this some day”! In… need more totes! Hope it works as well as it seems it will WP. And if u think of it, send some rain this way to PA! We’re needing it bad. Hey to Suz the Q! Have a good one.

You nailed it. It made sense at the time where you put the thing, but when you finally find it, you wonder why you put it there. Our egg count is going up again so I think it’s working. 🤞🤞

Don't forget to give the dog an egg every now and then, he needs them for nutritional reasons, there's a reason for everything.
This device doesn't surprise. I expect of a guy who, years before the days of cupholders in cars and individual water bottles, put a jug, windshieldd washer pump, a switch, and a long hose together in his car to supply water as needed to a thirsty driver....just because he could. That alarm project is great!! Now, does it work to deter Maverick? Do you have other alarms to switch to as he becomes accustomed to that sound. Maybe just your recorded voice saying. "MAVERICK. NO!!" at a volume high enough to get his attention, not loud to shatter the night quiet, shocking you (or your wife, heaven forbid. Because wives always hear things we husbands don't) wide awake at 3 AM as he wanders for his mid-night snack and your breakfast. Hope it works well as it is.
Omg! I totally forgot about the old Grand Prix and the water pump contraption. What a great memory you have!
The only problem I had with it was that I couldn’t get plastic tube taste out of the system. I didn’t know about food grade tubing at the time.
