I used to have a 1996 Neon... It had a problem with a high idle. I checked all over for vaccum leaks but couldn't find any. I changed the Idle Air Control valve but it didn't resolve the problem. I noticed when I messed around with the wiring going to the connector pigtail it would change the idle. I got a kit to replace the pigtail connector and it solved the problem. There was a disconnect in the wiring in the connector.
Got the exact same issues right now. In the middle of swapping thermostat and replaced air filter and cleaned IAC and throttle body. Gonna hope for the best. Also, I think my issue might be the idle air control valve. Like I said I cleaned mine and hopefully it’ll work better. I’ll swap out if need be. But ima check for vacuum leaks now
I have a idle issue and cant find the problem i changed the motor mounts since the old ones were done already still had idle issue before and after the change.idles rough in drive and more on reverse calms down on neutral, a mechanic told me spark plugs and wires are good, i had also changed the ecm i had stalling issues it fixed the stalling problem, what could it be ?
Could be plugs and wires did you change all 3 motor mounts and the transmission mount? Could be that I mean to be fair these cars rattle a little more than new cars but it's hard to say without it front of me Thanks for watching good luck 🤞
Is there a obd 2 code? In the process of fixing my sons issue. Hard start when it's cold. And it fouls out spark plugs I'm thinking it's either a faulty IAT sensor or a bad MAP sensor. If its not a vacuum leak... these are around 20.00 a piece. Worth a shot
hey man I have an 04 dodge neon and it's having acceleration problems even after changing the spark plugs, fuel injectors, ignition coil pack, and battery. any help is greatly appreciated
@andr1seed apparently if you don't get the crankshaft position sensor from the dealer instead of auto zone or whatevs it'll eventually make your timing belt go bad. that's what happened to my neon and ended up junking it
I have a 01 neon with 206 plus thousands miles, good battery and connection, it idles normal but after 3 to 5 minutes it shuts down. What could be wrong with it? Thank you and have a great day.
Could be a multitude of problems is it throwing and codes? Could be a Idle air control is gummed up or a vacuum leak problem could be a clogged up cat. I mean without looking at it I'm not sure. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful
Yeah I just wasn't comfortable "just leaving" duct tape on there the whole area was getting soft and it only would've gotten worse than ks for watching!
thanks for the video it massively helped me out. since i know basically nothing about cars. my tube just wasnt on properly. heres hoping its fixed
@@TheD3ep0ne glad it helped !

Wow glad you found the fix that one probably took a minute to figure out

Good luck sir sometimes a simple vacuum leak makes a lot of issues
Should have just used a tire patch on the inside of that intake tube if it is good enough for the tire it's good enough for an intake tube
Yeah that probably would've worked but ya know 🤣
Glad you figured out the problem

Yes all that was changed but before the engine mounts change it was a rough idle now with the new ones its more of an aggressive idle then before

Thanks for the video. I enjoyed and it was informative. You look awesome too 😉
Thanks for watching

Not really sure that I'll be much help without seeing it c but it could be multiple issues clogged cat, bad sensor and codes?
@jdubb67 gotcha. it's not throwing codes, is there a test you can do for a clogged catalytic converter?
@@kurodamakoto2316did you figure it out? I’m having the same exact problem now

My 04 neon wont idle down its at 2500 rpm ive checked for air leaks and get nothing could it be throttle body
Very well could be a dirty throttle body
What kind of air intake is that? Is it a kit?
It's a kit that I literally bought off eBay several years ago for like $40 no name brand or anything

@JDubbs Car Stuff no problem thanks for answering.
If duct tape worked, I’m sure the Amazon part will work too
Probably should've lol I only drove it another 6 months after this anyway well lesson learned
Shit there you go just keep the duct tape on their

Stop using those crappy air filters
