Tatiana off stage is a massive introvert (Wallflower). This song is about that and about the band pressuring her to get her lyrics done for the album. The band usually does all the music and then Tati writes her lyrics to that music. The band often doesn't even know what the song title is going to be until she's done. She procrastinates over it often and so in the video the band is intruding on her solitude to say "hey lets get this done". It's not a contentious thing with them that I know of. She knows she makes them wait and they know she gets results the way she does it. So the video shouldn't leave the impression that it's a huge issue. It's just the way they work. Nothing compared to some bands who take six months to a year to complete an album locked up together in the studio fighting with one another. Being an introvert off stage and so dynamic on stage is just another duality aspect of Tati's personality. Good videos for her stage presence is just about all of them but Who is Gonna be the One live, Captain Clock live at Resurrection Fest, Outlander Live at Loudfest, Ape One Shot Live are all good examples of her dynamic performances.
If you want to see a great performance by them you should check out Pit of Consciousness (live in Kiev). Beast Mode. P. S. Glad you did this one. A very well composed song by them and maybe a little underrated. Another one vastly underrated is I Speak Astronomy (OMV). Beautiful song and epic video just beware of the ending. Peace.
Jinjer is so much more than just Tatiana´s unarguably awesome voice skill... She is also a GREAT poet/songwriter and Vlad, Roman and Eugene are ALL EXTREMELY talented musicians as well. Plus, they are REALLY cool and humble human beings, surrounded by an also amazing crew. They are directly and undirectly helping a lot of the Ukrainian people affected by this fuckin war and that is suffering hardly for a long time... MUCH RESPECT TO ALL OF THEM!!! JNJR FOR LIFE!!!
Another great reaction! As for the meaning of the lyrics, Tati is the main songwriter, although Eugene does contribute sometimes. Tati writes a lot about her personal feelings, life, and the world around her as it relates to her, the band, and people. She is also a self-proclaimed introvert, which may seem odd for someone as amazingly talented who spends her life in front of huge crowds, and does interview after interview. She has always loved singing and performing, but really has not sought fame. Jinjer's songwriting process is a bit different than many or even most bands in that Vlad (Drummer) composes the music with Eugene (Bassist) and Roman (Guitarist), and then they give the demos of the musical compositions to Tati for her to write the lyrics. The lyric writing process for Tati is one she admits to procrastinating, and she really seems to work best under pressure and deadlines. However, this does not mesh well with her introvert nature, because she always feels the pressure to produce the song lyrics whether that be internalized pressure or pressure from the other band members. In the video for Wallflowers, the box represents the words and phrases she constantly collects for future use. The sand art (sand and instruments are in that red box) and the sand art portrait she is creating in the video are representative of the lyrics for a song and/or album. So as she's creating her art, the lyrics, you see clips of Roman, Eugene, and Vlad and she looks over her shoulder at them and the music gets a little more tense and she has a more tense look on her face. As an introvert, she really NEEDS her alone time to be able "recharge her batteries" as she says in the song, so having anyone/anything interrupting that alone/creative time causes her anxiety and stress. As the video continues you see the band members at the door and she EXPLODES into her famous growls and screams. Then they are inside the house and she just can't take it anymore. She gets the guns and tries to stop the noise and outside world from intruding on her recharge time but no matter how many times she shoots you notice the bullets just bounce off them. Then she goes to the beautiful sand art and scoops it all together and throws it at them and they disappear. She has delivered to them her art, the lyrics to the music, and they are appeased and leave her to her "down time." You also mentioned the wolves on the wall, the black one representing her time out in the world and the white one representing her "me time." As the world starts to come into her space you see the black wolve getting more aggressive and its eyes turning red, that's the stress and anxiety coming into her "space" and the white wolf appears to back down somewhat timidly. Once the lyrics are delivered you see them both back to being calm and the red eyes are gone, her personal "balance" has been restored. That's also why the white wolf is a little crooked at the beginning of the video, it is foreshadowing the upcoming lack of balance she is soon to face in her life as an introvert. The lyrics to virtually all of Jinjer's music is very poetic and tells a story, some stories are much more "deep" like Wallflower, and some not quite as deep, but they are all stylistically are poetically written stories. Unfortunately too many people are focused solely on Tati's amazing voice and vocal range and the phenomenal composition and musicianship of the band that they don't take the time to learn the lyrics or to try and understand them. Something Tati has said in more than one interview I've seen is that she really likes and enjoys it when an audience knows the lyrics to their songs, she is telling a story, often personal and wants to share it with them. I'm also glad you took notice of what a fantastic performer Tati is, I don't know that I've ever seen a front who captivates an audience the way she does. She is able to do this whether with her soft, clean vocals or the harsh growls and screams. She is always energetic, engaging, and has a magnetic personality that comes through in how she performs her art. If you took the time to read all of this I appreciate it, and I appreciate the efforts of all content creators who play and react to Jinjer because it gives them exposure to people who may otherwise never have given them a listen, and it is a shame for anyone not to have an opportunity to experience such wonderful and beautiful talent. I'm looking forward to your next Jinjer reaction! 💙💛
And of course, I can't resist.... In the video, there's a direct correlation to the pressure she felt for procrastinating lyric writing for the album to the last second. Her bandmates pursue her, pressure her. The bullets (sharp words) at them do nothing, but then she sees the wolves on the wall, realizes her defensive anger and her over-reaction in a situation she created ("turning mole hills into mountains"), and throws "her art" (metaphor for the lyrics they want) at the band and they go away. The wolf story (below) is critical to understanding her internal conflicts as displayed by the wolf art. White Wolf, Black Wolf: A Cherokee Story Inside you lives a wolf of white- of patience, peace and love. He is forgiveness, hope and light; a blessing from above. This wolf of white the world will see through all the good he brings to thee. _____This wolf of white, _____this wolf of white, his gifts will set your spirit free. A wolf of black, as dark as night lives next to him inside. He’s hatred, rage, cruelty, fright, intolerance and pride. This wolf of black the world will see through evil actions, evil deeds. _____This wolf of black, _____this wolf of black, his teeth will make your spirit bleed. Within your soul, the two wolves fight to see which one will give directions and will win the right to show you how to live. Which one will win the fight? We need to pay attention; pay close heed! _____Which one will win? _____Which one will win depends upon which one we feed.
Speaking about Tatiana. She's a multitalanted person. As a band member she has few roles: - singer (obviously) - with a rare (maybe unique) combination of vocal capabilities from Randy Blythe to Gwen Stefani. - composer - she composes her vocal lines above the prepared instrumental parties and they are very creative. Especially considering the compexity of Jinjer's current instrumentation. - lyricist - she's an educated person with a literature degree, she writes the lyrics in Russian and then translates it somehow. Tatiana always tends to create some meaningful and poetic lyrics. She asks people to pay attention to the lyrics because she's "not some barking dog at the street", she tries to say something with her songs. - front persona - she has a very interesting personality, unusual for the most of western rockstars. She's quite, kind and shy in public. - actress - sometimes (like in this OMV) she's acting. - and above all of this she's a live performer. A world class live performer. She has one of the best stage presence in business. By the way Tatiana said that as a child she wanted to be a dancer and she trained to dance. Try some Jinjer live performances. Speaking about stage presence I'd suggest: - Who's Gonna Be The One (Atlas) - Captain Clock (Ressurection) - Outlander (it's not a true live, studio sound, but Tati's stage presence is astonishing) - Teacher Teacher (OMV is actually a live footage, or live in Melbourne) - Scissors (also OMV is a live footage but much earlier, with a young tomboy Tati with dreadlocks) - Just Another (another OMV with live footage, very cool) - Pit of Consciousness (Live in Kiev) - On The Top (Live in Kiev) - Judgment and Punishment (one take vocal performance or live in Melbourne) - Retrospection (live in Melbourne) - Sit Stay Rollover (live in Melbourne) - Cloud Factory (live in Kiev) - Bad Water (live in Kiev) Well it's just few examples.
This is the Introverts anthem! Tatiana is a beast on stage but off stage she is a massive introvert, who prefers being at home rather than being around people. This song is a lot for people to digest on first listen but once you know the meaning it becomes easier.Awesome Reaction!
you're good........! I've loved Jinjer for over 5 years, I've been a musician myself for over 40 years, which is why I also feel Jinjer in my whole body! And you are also an artist... I've been listening to music in various musical genres for over 50 years and I've rarely been so emotionally fascinated by a band, they're all world-class musicians in all areas! Maybe you can do a double feature from " Pit of Consciousness (Live in Kiev) | Napalm Records + Pit Of Consciousness (Official Video) | Napalm Records lovely greetings from germany and see you soon & thanx for your emotional & authentic reaction.....
After literally over 1,000 live performances the past 12 years or so Tatiana’s batteries need recharged for sure and she always delivers as do the guys and they surround themselves with very talented people for their videos and live performances.
Yeah, their touring schedule is nonsensically brutal. That's a big part of the reason none of the members of the band are original. This isn't an easy band to be a member of musically, physically, mentally, and unfortunately, politically as well.
Jinjer videos are always amazing storytelling in ways that not all artists can deliver. You utterly nailed the meaning as far as I understand it and I just love how invested you get in the music and story!
Tatiana is an introvert (except when she steps on stage) and has a habit of procrastinating when it comes time to finish the new music for the band. The guys in the band get everything done musically and wait for Tati. So maybe the box is her lyrics or participation - but being an introvert doesn't help her in these situations. It is more detailed than this, but I am sure some of our resident Jiner Army will explain better than I. Love seeing you light up listening to Jinjer 🤘
The box is where she keeps her art supplies (& I would say her art), & her art is very personal to her, so she guards it jealously. But her band mates demand that she share her art (her lyrics & vocal melodies, etc.). That's the root of the conflict in the story. When she lashes out violently (gets angry), they still persist with their demands. They only leave her alone after she gives them her art. You're awesome, man. Keep it up!
Future Reaction Suggestion: Speaking directly to your appreiciation for Tati's stage presence and performance attributes, Please consider doing a "Double-Feature" Reaction to "Pit of Consciousness" Live in Kiev and the Official Video (Suggest the Official Video first). They are both extraordinary in their own right, but what you will get to see is just how great Jinjer is LIVE, they are one of a precious few bands in any genre that are just as good or better live than in a studio mastered version. You will also get to see how Tati "tells the story" in Jinjer's always-creative videos and then how she conveys that same story with her vocals and stage presence in a live performance setting. Hope to see you try this!
that’s why i love live performances so much! i imagine they have an idea of what the music does to them as they rehearse, and to see it played out in stage is just wildly beautiful to me. i wonder how much movement is thought out, and how much is improvised. for me, i have an idea of how i want my flow to go. but i’m not one to follow a strict routine, rather, i take the concepts i have in my mind and play by ear as “fillers”. not sure if that makes sense. kind of reminds me of how she creates her art (somewhat) unconventionally, such as with procrastination, i can kind of relate to her but in a different aspect. there’s no “true” way to create something for it to work. i appreciate the suggestions! thanks so much for watching 🙏
Well, yeah, do more of Jinjer! I`m sure you`ll love it! 🙃 You might adore "I speak Astronomy", Tatiana`s only lovesong - well, kind of..., "Just another" when you really had a bad day (both the studio version), to hear her doing magic with her voice in a closer look: "Judgement and Punishment" (vocal one-take), if you feel rebellious try out "No Hoard of Value", if you`re angy "Sit, stay, roll over", if you like to beat up stupid idiots try "Ape", if you are even angrier "The Proficy" (all studio verson), for live songs try out "On the Top" or "Pit of Consciousness" (both from Kiev), to see the beginnings try out a raw diamond: "Exposed as a Liar" and...and... 🤔 Well - there will definitely be a time when you won`t need any recommendations anymore as Jinjer isn`t capable to write a bad song (no quotation from me!) 😁🤘 Ah, and by the way, I really like your deep thoughts about all the lyrics. They really are wotth it. And - well, Tatiana always complains that people don`t listen enough to her words she went through so much pain to get them together. By the way "Wallflower" iis about her band urging her to get the lyrics at last before it`s too late. Tatiana describes herself as master of procrastination. 🤣 Ah, and of course you must listen to "Vortex", a song that shows how to expertly destroy a song in the most high-quality art imaginable...
The box is her artistic side, that she's forced to share. The wolves are Native American representing which personality you show to others. Her shooting at her bandmates is how she gets caustic when pressured. She's admitted to getting pretty crappy to them when they're waiting for her side to get finished. Even the sand art, which is a pisces symbol, is both representative of how it is meant to be shared, but must be destroyed in the end to make something new. The song and video are a roller coaster through an amazingly talented, but introverted person who hates what comes from the success they seek. It's a lot of pent up stuff packed into a single song/video.
European magic shit: please do a double feature for Judgement & Punishment: official and either live in Melbourne or one take vocal- I can't decide which.
The box holds Tati's lyrics and vocal melodies. Which is the art she brings to Jinjer. The band writes all the music before she's ready and pretty much every time they come asking for her input. But she's an introvert and procrastinator and just wants them to go away and leave her in peace. Finally she can't take it anymore and starts yelling at them (shooting and uzi at them) but they don't care about that. Nothing she says/shoots at them affects her bandmates in any way. Finally she sits down and does what she's supposed to do and throws it at her band mates and then they leave her alone. That's what this song and video is about.
Great reaction! I’d love to see you do some of my favorites by them which are “Who is gonna be the One” live version, “Vortex”, and “Words of Wisdom” I love that they’re becoming one of your favorite bands now
I was reading quite a few of these posts hoping to find something to add but a lot of them were complete essays very informative. I was thinking as you go through your Jinjer journey maybe a comparison between old school Jinjer and new Jinjer. Their first album King of everything and there are a lot Jinjer gems some have videos some don’t. The song, Just Another would be a great reaction.
You are a movement artist who does some great visual story-telling. Tatiana, Roman, Eugene and Vlad are music artists who also do some great visual story-telling. This reaction was meant to happen..
thank you so much for this! they really did a great job. i cant wait to see more. i’m obsessed. i appreciate you 🙏
Рік тому+2
I have a solution for you ... from now on, only Jinjer reactions... so you can finish all their discography in a couple or three months and listen to them freely in your car! Nice reaction!
I love a lot of Jinjer's songs, but this is probably my favorite and this video is awesome. Tatiana has said that the lyrics are about her struggle with being an introvert in the very public music industry and also about her tendency to procrastinate and the pressure she feels from the other band members to complete the lyrics and record her vocals after they have completed all the music for an album. I think the red box may represent her delayed uncompleted work and the band is chasing her to get her to complete it.
I forgot to mention additional Jinjer songs I'd recommend.......Judgement and Punishment (Tatiana's "live one take vocal performance" video), Teacher, Teacher (official video), Who Is Gonna Be The One (Napalm Records official live video) and Home Back (official video...which was written in 2019 about the fighting since 2014 with Russian-backed separatists in their homeland of the Donetsk region in eastern Ukraine, but it has an even greater emotional impact since psychopath Putin's all-out illegal invasion).
I think your viewers will be better served with your playback volume cranked! We'll still hear you. Jinjer, Band-Maid and The Warning, etc. ain't no background dinner music. ;-) Thx, Ivanna!
ahhh i’d like to learn how to make it louder, that will be my next mission. thanks for the feedback! 🙏 and you’re right about that dinner music part hahah 🤣
The sign on the floor is the Pisces sign. And the two wolves represent the duality of the sign. Just like their song "Pisces" shows. Basically 'wallflower' is almost like a followup on that song.
I'm pretty sure the box contained lyrics. Tatiana is notorious for procrastinating in the studio. I believe the music for this album was finished before she set foot in the studio. Eugene is chasing her down and figuratively saying "Get your ass to work!"
You can't go wrong with Jinjer. I would suggest Judgement and Punishment. Tatiana does it in one take and it goes to show how good she really is, as well as how diverse the band is.
Ok! Now that I check Your reactions to Jinjer up to this point I want You to check out "Teacher, teacher." by Jinjer. 😉It showcases the full potential of Tati- at least that's what I think. 😂Great reaction! 😃
Fun Fact: the picture Tatiana was creating with the sand art is the Pisces' symbol. Obviously! 🙂
Tatiana off stage is a massive introvert (Wallflower). This song is about that and about the band pressuring her to get her lyrics done for the album. The band usually does all the music and then Tati writes her lyrics to that music. The band often doesn't even know what the song title is going to be until she's done. Nothing compared to some bands who take six months to a year to complete an album locked up together in the studio fighting with one another.
Peace.
"i'm a guest in my own skin / i take it off to be myself" ... i love these lyrics so much...

This was so beautifully said and highly accurate. Well done, Nick 👏

Try some Jinjer live performances.
Speaking about stage presence I'd suggest:
- Who's Gonna Be The One (Atlas)
- Captain Clock (Ressurection)
- Outlander (it's not a true live, studio sound, but Tati's stage presence is astonishing)
- Teacher Teacher (OMV is actually a live footage, or live in Melbourne)
- Scissors (also OMV is a live footage but much earlier, with a young tomboy Tati with dreadlocks)
- Just Another (another OMV with live footage, very cool)
- Pit of Consciousness (Live in Kiev)
- On The Top (Live in Kiev)
- Judgment and Punishment (one take vocal performance or live in Melbourne)
- Retrospection (live in Melbourne)
- Sit Stay Rollover (live in Melbourne)
- Cloud Factory (live in Kiev)
- Bad Water (live in Kiev)
Well it's just few examples.

to hear her doing magic with her voice in a closer look: "Judgement and Punishment" (vocal one-take),
if you feel rebellious try out "No Hoard of Value", if you`re angy "Sit, stay, roll over",
if you like to beat up stupid idiots try "Ape", if you are even angrier "The Proficy" (all studio verson),
for live songs try out "On the Top" or "Pit of Consciousness" (both from Kiev), to see the beginnings try out a raw diamond: "Exposed as a Liar" and...and...
🤔
Well - there will definitely be a time when you won`t need any recommendations anymore as Jinjer isn`t capable to write a bad song (no quotation from me!)
😁🤘
Ah, and by the way, I really like your deep thoughts about all the lyrics. They really are wotth it. And - well, Tatiana always complains that people don`t listen enough to her words she went through so much pain to get them together.
By the way "Wallflower" iis about her band urging her to get the lyrics at last before it`s too late. Tatiana describes herself as master of procrastination. 🤣
Ah, and of course you must listen to "Vortex", a song that shows how to expertly destroy a song in the most high-quality art imaginable...
Great reaction, love your enthusiasm, definitely some Eastern European shit is going with this video, read the lyrics to get more!
European magic shit: please do a double feature for Judgement & Punishment: official and either live in Melbourne or one take vocal- I can't decide which.
Never thought of kali uchis during this song but now that you say it. I can hear it lol
Pit of Consciousness live in Kiev NEXT SONG OF THEM PLEASEEEEEE 🎉 It's a MUST
Great reaction!
This reaction was meant to happen..
thank you so much for this! they really did a great job. i cant wait to see more. i’m obsessed. i appreciate you 🙏
I have a solution for you ... from now on, only Jinjer reactions... so you can finish all their discography in a couple or three months and listen to them freely in your car!
The box contains her lyrics; it's all about the process how the band create their songs
Judgment and Punishment! Please check it out!
Teacher Teacher is another really good one.
Pit of Consciousness (live in Kiev)
🤘
Tatiana is the best female singer in metal. Great reaction !
Now u need to discover the best male singer : Will Ramos from Lorna Shore.
My license plate says JINJER
Good reaction. I think you would "Captain Clock" live at Resurrection Fest. (Subbed)
many thanks to you! i’ll keep that in mind. 🙏 appreciate you being here!
🤘🇺🇦🤘
What's in the box! 💀
"Ad some european shit there".
That's not european, it is a buddistic sand painting, called mandala. So it is of course asian.
i meant the throwing of the art dust into the band members to cast them away hahaha but i see what you’re saying! :)
Errr, is it not all just about menstruation?
