What a great version of this theme, my favourite one!!!!!! Mark Murphy was really an amazing jazz singer....So sorry that he is no more among us!... ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️👍👍👍👍👍
Mark Murphy creates the music. He finds the essence. He puts the music inside of our soul. He left us with exquisite beauty in every sound and syllable.
a life long jazz fan, I came to Mark Murphy very late, about a year before his passing. I own 13 of his albums and his music moves me like that of no other artist....this album is fantastic
Rest In Peace, Mr. Murphy. Thank you for a LIFETIME of wonderful music. LOVE this cut, and how he comes back in just SOARING like Coltrane after the instrumental solos.
Had the pleasure to meet Mark, after a gig in Copenhagen.. we went to a bar and he ordered a Singapore sling’..😉. Music, life, future was the issues.. oh I know you still around ✨🎵
If you study and know the greatest vocalist of all time.Listen to his youthful recordings on Capital and afterwards pure heaven. PLEASURE TO HAVE shaken HIS Hand, talked about his love for the Mexican singer Luis Miguel .Blessings
I consider this a revelation cuz if this was on the above 1998 release I totally missed it. Once again Mark spits out the definitive version of the tune!, His world knowledge of places from which to draw sound influences form some fine arrangements. Exhibit B would be with Marion McPartland on her Piano Jazz gig (Detour Ahead). Got to see him in Boston that same year all of this was going on. Hopefully, there's a lot more good stuff coming, both sung and read. Well done putting it up!

Mark Murphy..What an amazing jazz vocalist. Anybody know who the piano player is?
@@suzannegriffin-otis9661 i guess who plays the piano is Marc Seales. This theme belongs to the album Song for the Geese.
Love how freely he expressed himself. Like singing in front of the bathroom mirror, in love with the sound of my own voice

Oh how I miss this cat!! He was such a treasure.
My favorite male singer EVER. And this whole album has the best string arrangements, so lush! It doesn't get better than this
The Goat. Pushed the music forward.
This is SO fantastic! One of the BEST versions of this J.F. Coots classic. Mark Murphy just nails this to the wall! Phewwwwwww!

You Go to My Head, not You Go to My Heads
Yuuuup
Wrong arrangement for this song. Salsa does not work here. Mark was a wonderful singer.
You'd think it wouldn't, but, man it does! Just like Mark, himself, let it grow on you.
