- Steve Morse plays the incredibly complex 'Simple Simon' with Dave La Rue and Van Romaine.
The Steve Morse Band has a new CD out called, "Outstanding in their Field", and my review is at this site:
www.epinions.co...
I have to put Steve in with the greatest to ever touch the instrument.
Take the Dixie Dregs and his solo discography alone, and you have a legendary legacy already. Then add some Kansas, Deep Purple, Flying Colors etc to the mix, some playing alongside the Guitar Trio, or being part of other great guitar events, and you get the amount of respect by his peers. Finally, spend some time absorbing his unique technique, his tones, his compositional style, man... the man is the definition of a guitar wizard, one of the finest guitar players to ever do it.
Dave La Rue''s tone is perfection.
Always is
Fuckin awesome
That album that Simple SImon came off of, Southern Steel, is for me like a high water-mark for virtuoso level guitar and well done instrumental music.
Always have to watch a Steve Morse solo twice. Once for the fretting hand and again to watch his ridiculous alternate picking, pickup switching and control adjusting

One of my favorite performances ever.
Steve is such an inspiration
That's not effects pedals and rack on the floor in front of him. That's a shrine they had to build to summon him.
I first heard this song when the Steve Morse Band opened for Kansas back in '91. Bought a copy of Southern Steel the next day!
Steve Morse is the best living guitarist alive!!
And doesn't even break a sweat. For God's sake! His mastery of the theory behind the music is obviously equal to his technical mastery of the instrument. A genius having fun. Grateful!
Steve morse the genius who can play any style
this used to be one of my favorite electric guitar videos (song) back in the days I discovered this kind of music
Me too
I have this VHS.
How name this concert?
This is a performance from guitar lesson. Steve Morse Complete Styles.
Thanks bro!
Me too
Conocí ésta canción por primera vez en un DVD de Yngwie Malmsteen y ahora Steve Morse es mi héroe.
WTF !!! Greetings from Brazil
There's a section of this fine tune that sounds a lot like Big Country (or vice versa).
Great!!!!
Steve Morse - on my top 5 list, along with Mick Box, Steve Vai, Al Di Meola and Moses Mo.
This kills!
such a professionnal performance
God damn, look at how long those fingers are...it's not fair!!
5 people thought they could play this on guitar
Steve sounds so close to the original studio record. Impressive.
As much as I am a fan of the band, this man is wasted in Deep Purple
I agree, but he grabbed a great opportunity to replace a guitar legend, in a legendary band, which skyrocketed his career, leading to more wealth & fame. I really can't blame him. And Ian Gillen said if it wasn't for Steve's incredible talent & enthusiasm, DP would have folded decades ago.
Totally agreed, but ones gotta pay the bills as well
@@omairsh8 Yeah, a DP tour -- or even just one stadium gig -- will finance a lot of side projects.
No I disagree.
Difficult Simon!

Oh yeah!
Steve Morse & Leslie West would've made a kick ass jam band.👍
